The midfield also has plays a factor here. Bruno is not suited to the responsibilities required for that role. Ugarte and Mainoo/Casemiro seems like the most sensible pairing in midfield at this point

I think Bruno-Ugarte did more than the requirements if we are looking at this game. I guess against better teams we will see.
skill set will be the secondary concern for the coach at this point. fitness levels need to improve, and by some distance.

We have had a poorly fit team for a long time. That was one of my problems with ETH. Most teams we faced were fitter and faster than us

realistically by January, we should see a lot more running from the team.
