zicky:That’s true sef..I no even reason go dt side ,where would Dey have picked deir players from if not deir local leagues and oda good leagues around..besides We re just unnecessarily proud like say we be Brazil 🇧🇷 or Germany 🇩🇪..I will keep saying it ,till we find a better option,I c no reason y Kelechi nwakali can’t play in dt our midfield ,what’s special about our current midfielders 😏. |

elyte89:Well said. I can't fathom why we even exiled Ogenyi Onazi from the team too. We need midfielders like no man's business. I don't know why no one is talking about Azu, Nwobodo, Igbekeme. Who else again abeg? So e no go be like say na only one player una dey mention. |

BankyGee:the countries are using their best players, do you think if Morocco have a player in AC Milan they’ll throw him away for a player in Spanish division 3? |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by jihday(m): 11:55pm On Nov 29, 2024 |
Truidstarr:many people don’t believe a team can have consecutive poor coaches |

elyte89:maybe because that’s the best they can boast of, our keeper plays in South Africa because that’s the best we can boast of |

kingphilip:Onyeka Onyedika Ndidi Iwobi Fisayo, this midfield is more than decent we just need a good coach to get the best out of them |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by jihday(m): 12:11am On Nov 30, 2024 |
elyte89:any coach who’s thinks it’s the skill set of a player warming bench in England division 3 is the answer I’m sure he can find same in our local league. This guy have been walking about from holland to Spain to Portugal now to England all these coaches don’t think he’s the answer to their midfield but you think he can be the answer to one of Africa’s biggest team okay o |

jihday:How does playing for AC Milan make you the best all of a sudden? Okoye plays for Udinese but somehow we all prefer Stanley Nwabali to him, you think club side and national teams are the same thing? Thank God you said they're using their "best" players. I don't think we're using our best players in EVERY position, we have the best in some positions already, not all. We don't even have a solid bench. Our bench players couldn't beat Rwanda lol... |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zicky(m): 4:06am On Nov 30, 2024 |
jihday:so you can't boast of the one in the top5 league again, Udinese |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zicky(m): 4:11am On Nov 30, 2024 |
jihday:A midfield that can not dictate or control a game even against smaller countries? Imagine have Mikel or JayJay in our midfield, do you think Ekong will be lobbing the ball like he usually does, because the midfielders we have can't do it, they only know how to tackle and maybe chase the ball. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zicky(m): 4:15am On Nov 30, 2024 |
jihday:Bro that coach should find that answer in the local league it will be better. When we had goalkeeper crisis, we all clamour for our coaches to search inward, but the problem we have is that even when they come local they don't go for the best, like going for Ojo who was a 3rd choice goalkeeper at that time and leaving more outstanding goalkeepers. You realise that they are not even sincere. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zicky(m): 4:17am On Nov 30, 2024 |
BankyGee:By his take our best goalkeeper should be Okoye, imagine training so hard to become Udinese, a club in a top5 league 1st choice. Rather we are using a south africa based goalkeeper who wasn't even the best while in the Nigerian league |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by jihday(m): 4:46am On Nov 30, 2024 |
zicky:yes, we’ve tried both the one in SA is calmer 🤷🏿♂️ |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by jihday(m): 4:46am On Nov 30, 2024 |
zicky:or maybe we don’t have a good coach |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by jihday(m): 4:48am On Nov 30, 2024 |
BankyGee:our starting 11 couldn’t beat Rwanda either neither could they beat Lesotho. Genuine question, which better player do you think we haven’t invited yet? |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by jihday(m): 4:51am On Nov 30, 2024 |
zicky:if you need Mikel and Okocha to beat Rwanda then we need to take a second look at the coach, can’t imagine Guardiola blaming their current run of form on Rodri’s injury |

jihday:So you agree we can get a midfielder outside the top5 league who's better than what we have now. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zicky(m): 7:23am On Nov 30, 2024 |
jihday:Ever since Mikel retires we stop having good coaches. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zicky(m): 7:28am On Nov 30, 2024 |
jihday:Oga I'm not even talking about beating this team, I'm talking about dictating play. For the second part, Guardiola can't say it but that's what fans and football commentators are saying. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by elyte89: 7:58am On Nov 30, 2024 |
zicky:What jihday refuse to realise is that we don’t even dominate d midfield aspect anymore against this so called minnows …dt thing Dey vex me ,aw can we be lobbing the ball against country like Rwanda 🇷🇼 and Benin 🇧🇯. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 8:00am On Nov 30, 2024 |
BankyGee:All those players wey Dey count their legs any time they play for us should leave the national team if not both Zimbabwe and Rwanda will beat us again. If we like let’s not tell ourselves the truth. If your club is more important to you why don’t you quit the national team |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 8:02am On Nov 30, 2024 |
elyte89:Those midfielders are not willing to put in their bodies for us they can’t just take risks, it’s better we allow them focus on their club duties jare |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by jihday(m): 8:59am On Nov 30, 2024 |
Goke7:earlier this year we saw players put their careers on the line for the SE, let’s hire a competent coach then we can come back to this discussion. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by jihday(m): 9:06am On Nov 30, 2024 |
zicky:yes if he’ll make us better, so which midfielder doing well in a league outside the top 5 do you know? |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by DeloitteNG: 9:19am On Nov 30, 2024 |
Another formation that can accommodate Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman And Iwobi given a free role playing from the wings and drifting to the midfield Nwabali in goal as usual
|
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zicky(m): 9:45am On Nov 30, 2024 |
elyte89:You get the point, let's play well first especially against this smaller team, when we play rubbish we defend it by saying no more minnows in Africa |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zicky(m): 9:52am On Nov 30, 2024 |
jihday:Bro na the job of the coach to search for better players to boast his team. Even if I mentionba player in the local league it still won't change anything. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 10:12am On Nov 30, 2024 |
jihday:I hope you know some players performance earlier that year you’re talking about were also poor in their performance on the pitch and it’s becoming a recurring problem lest we make the mistake of assuming that it was all the players that put their careers on the line. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 10:17am On Nov 30, 2024 |
zicky:It’s even more sad when you look at the quality of opposition we have in our group for both Afcon and wcq. I feel so ashamed when I look at other groups perhaps we should getting tougher opponents may be that can wake up the team. |
