The length to which the prosperity preachers were taking the matter of tithing, one would think tithing has made many tithers, themselves inclusive, the richest men in the world, however that couldn't be any further from the truth, because tithing has never made any man to become world's richest, not even one.

Even king Solomon, the only man the Bible called world's richest, it wasn't tithing that made him to become the richest man in history.

In fact God Himself (who made Solomon richer than all those who lived before and after him) said the reason He gave Solomon such an unprecedented amount of riches, was because Solomon didn't ask for riches for himself, but the things that mattered to God.

1 Kings 3:11-13 (KJV)

And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;
Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

The fact you only realize you weren't deaf and dumb is when the excesses of prosperity preachers were being called out, shows you have not interest whatsoever in what matters to God but only keen on blindly defending your spiritually blind leaders. Jesus never did that. He called them out in His day and true Christians out to follow His example.

You must also think God's total omission of what you claim Solomon did to get His attention when stating the reasons He made Solomon world's richest man ever was an exercise in falsehood since I'm only following His example.

If your motive to tithe is to be rich, you will not get rich. Infact you will not have the courage to keep on. Riches are additions that come because of obedience. Just so you know every rich man believe in the concept of tithing. They may not call it tithe but they believe they must give at least a tenth out. If you have had the privilege to leave the shores of Nigeria, you will see that this concept is one of the factors that has helped the great nations combined with diligence and honesty in dealings.

So why do you fail to practice the tithe in Deuteronomy 14:22-27. Where does the Bible say tithing is important for church growth and that Christians must pay it?

Hearing testimonies of people killing sheep, goat and cows and receiving a 'blessing or miracle' doesn't mean we should do so does it?

Hmmm... You don't pay tithes. I also don't pay. But when you say "do anything that works for you"; do you by any chance believe that tithing is working for some people?
I've heard some people say tithing is working for them, so they'll keep on paying. But if you ask them to explain how it is working for them, they'll give you flimsy explanation. The truth is tithing doesn't work for anyone, it only help those who receive it. Let tithers show me one advantage that tithing has brought to their lives and I will show them non tithers who even had such advantage more than tithers.
When something bad happen, a tither will keep quiet, but any little good that comes to them, they'll think it happen because they pay tithes.
