| Netflix Nigeria Posts “We Are Going Nowhere” Meme In Response To Exit Rumors by LegendHero(op): 3:54pm On Dec 05, 2024 |
Yesterday, rumors circulated widely that Netflix was leaving Nigeria. Although Netflix has already debunked the claim, today their social media handler tweeted a meme saying, "I am going nowhere." Nigerian media outlets should refrain from spreading fake news and taking statements out of context.

Only senseless people think Netflix will leave Nigeria. Their investment to return ratio is almost 1:5. Nigerian movies are cheaper to make. No need for CGI and they make their money back in 5 folds. |

Wisdomites:They will soon say there is Agbado in Netflix pocket. I saw a video of comedian Basketmouth where he was explaining issue of Netflix with Nigeria producers. He said Netflix will budget like $1.5m for example, then producers will use 1/10th of it to make substandard movies and embezzle the rest. Some of them don’t pay their actors well and when Netflix also attempted paying actors directly, them go frustrate am. |

For Nigeria they will tell you they die here. Nigeria is the only African country where they can get about 230 potential viewers and their biggest market in Africa |

The industry's dependence on the presence of Netflix in Nigeria is a symptom of unseriousness of our youths. Our reliance on foreign technological advancements, rather than developing our own local solutions, is stifling our economic progress. Anyways, let's keep relying on foreign innovations and keep blaming our leaders

Sirheny007:More like the man said that 'Netflix is not buying Nigerian content right now' which was spun off into 'Netflix is leaving Nigeria' by some online news media, then it was picked up by the print media...and it all went down hill. But anyone who listened to the man's comment could clearly see he said nothing about Netflix leaving Nigeria. |
