My new Vitamix blender came this week. I slacked a bit with healthy eating this year and I'm looking forward to all the things I'll be making in it. I hope I won't become a Vitamix hoarder (I already have the a3500) but I just love these blenders. embarassed
Can you sell the a3500 to me please?

Sell my precious A3500? Sell ko. You can buy your own. They're on sale right now for $849. Idk if the company ships to Nigeria though, if you're in Nigeria, but with tax and shipping to Nigeria, you're looking at over $1000. I paid $977 for mine. They're expensive blenders but they're powerful, durable, timeless and worth their price tag.
Does it work in Nigeria?

Are you in naija?

Ukwa is elite. Doesn’t even need that much to taste great. They’re really missing out.

I'm not in Nigeria. They will not work in Nigeria due to differences in power voltage and with blenders with this level of power, I doubt it. Idk if a converter would help, however.

American appliances work in Canada, and vice versa. The new model I just bought from their new line came directly from their headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, as did the A3500, and the label on the outside box has "USA/Canada" on it, which means it/they will work in either or both countries.

I called them this morning to ask if they ship to Nigeria and was told they don't and have never shipped to Nigeria, unfortunately. The lady said they actually no longer ship internationally but only within USA and to Canada, that other countries would have to buy them from their distributors, which are listed on their website.

Idk if you bought your A3500i from them (https://www.vitamix.com/us/en_us) when they shipped internationally to the UK or from their official distributor in the UK (Devaney & Co. Ltd: https://www.vitamixuk.com/), but if you bought it directly from them, you could've called them about the dry container not working and it's possible they could've done something to help, even a year later. The company's customer service is top notch and always kind.

If the dry container didn't work, it was likely the wrong container. The dry grains container for the Ascent Series is the "1.4 Litres Dry Grains Container with SELF DETECT" (https://www.vitamixuk.com/product/1-4ltr-dry-container-with-self-detect/).
K thanks.
Have had mine for more than 3 yrs now.
I live in uk. I just want to know if it works in naija so I can get it for someone.
The dry container don't work in uk. Reason best known to them.

It’s a type of breadfruit with much smaller seeds than regular breadfruit. I’ve only ever seen it in the east. The seeds are what we cook and eat. Main method of cooking it is in a soup or porridge form. In a porridge, it has the same texture and mouthfeel as black eyed peas.

I think it’s very delicious.

But I don’t know if it’s something of an acquired taste so have an open mind if you ever come across it.😊

Descarado over to you

Funny you.

Edo people have the tree(some parts) but they don't eat ukwa. A sis who was a teacher there made so much money with this. Said, it will fall decay and rot in the farm. So she always tell her students to take her to ukwa tree.

Ukwa is a balanced diet on its own. The only thing packing is veggie. It's what you prepare for your father inlaw specially. I can say it's arguably the most expensive food in Nigeria. Trust me, it's that expensive. It doesn't swell up when cooked. So you have to buy lots.

In igboland the way one prepare ukwa will tell you were the person came from.
The picture up there is how anambra people love their ukwa. Just plain filled with water.
Imo(Coco) make ukwa porridge, so sweet. I think the sweetness is in another level. Abia and imp are the same. Enugu is more like anambra. Ebonyi, I don't actually know.
Ther is also cooked corn mixed together with cooked ukwa( our grannies can do that, it takes ages to make that)
Ukwa takes time to cook. Some put ash or potash. One maybe lucky. I cooked that one with pressure pot.
You can roast it like groundnut, eat with palm kernel or coconut. Check out igbo ladies who sell groundnut, you will see roasted ukwa too on their stand or tray.
So you can imagine my happiness when I got it. It took me straight home. And my annoyance that my family looked down on it. tongue cheesy
