Recall that the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, has been flayed for building houses for judges in Abuja, when he has cases in court.

Re: When You Become FCT Minister Build Houses For Your Profession-Wike Tells Critics by Edygrin(m):
What's wrong with Wike building houses for judges?

The president is living in a palatial palace in Aso Rock, the vice president just built himself a mansion using billions of tax payers money, the senators and HoR members are living in large houses also, why then should our judges live like peasants?

Or is it only when it's Wike?

Those criticizing Wike should start with their state governors who have built houses and even bought SUVs for their state judges.

Even Peter Obi in 2010 and 2013 built houses for the judges in Anambra and even shared 21 Vehicles to Anambra judges in 2012, was he doing that to induce them also?

The importance of the separation of powers and budgetary independence among the three arms of government: the Executive, the Judiciary, and the Legislative. The argument is that each branch should manage its own affairs within its allocated budget to maintain autonomy and prevent undue influence or dependency.

When the Executive branch, represented by individuals like Wike, takes on responsibilities typically managed by the Judiciary, it raises concerns about overreach and undermines the independence of the Judiciary. Such actions might set a precedent that could erode the principle of checks and balances.

If the Executive builds houses for the Judiciary, consistency would require similar support for the Legislative arm, which is not the norm.
This inconsistency could lead to perceptions of favoritism or misuse of executive power.

While the intention behind building houses for judges might be well-meaning, it's crucial to uphold the principles of separation of powers and budgetary independence to maintain the integrity and effective functioning of government institutions. Encouraging each branch to manage its own affairs within its budget can prevent potential overreach and ensure a balanced and fair governance system.

If this same government decide to go after the previous Chief justices who refused to take care of judges under them I'm sure you will be part of those that'll say the government is trying to intimidate the judiciary.

There's nothing this government will do that there won't be criticism, reason I love how Wike is going about it, he doesn't listen to you all.

Do you even understand the issue? Supporting Wike is your choice, but his actions are wrong. If the government decides to pursue previous Chief Justices who misappropriated funds meant for judges' welfare, that's entirely justified. However, siding with Wike is your personal decision, not mine. What he is doing is fundamentally wrong.

Where in the constitution does it forbid a minister of FCT from building houses for judges?

It seems like you need everything spelled out clearly to understand. The concept of separation of powers is straightforward: each branch of government (Executive, Judiciary, and Legislative) should operate independently. Why isn't Wike building houses for House of Representatives members and Senators, but only for judges? This inconsistency shows a disregard for the principle of separation of powers, which ensures that each branch manages its own affairs and budgets independently.

Do I really need to tell you that he should be investigated? This is clearly not part of his duties. What he's doing can be seen as inducing or bribing.

Meaning the governors building houses and buying cars for their state judiciary members are not also doing their duty but you've never criticized them only Wike.

Just because everyone is doing the wrong thing doesn't make it right. You know this is very wrong. Tomorrow, you'll want Kemi to speak well of Nigeria, but how can she? The judiciary has its own budget for these matters.
