Benin ancestry is not Yoruba, it's only the Oba's ancestry that comes from there. The mistake people make is to think that the King and the people share common ancestry. Some of these Kingship came about about by conquest and not necessarily by being indigenous.

There is NOTHING like Ekaladerhan OR even Izoduwa in Ufe (Ife history). These are unfortunately fabricated histories by the Oba's of Benin's palace from the time of Oba Erediauwa because of the brewing political struggle or power play in Benin (most especially because of the Ogiemien family claims over a treaty).

2] The people of USEN in Ovia South West LGA of Edo State who are direct descendants of Afelogiyan who is Oranmiyan's OLDER brother have DEBUNKED that claim by the palace in Benin. There are other communities near USEN such as Utese in Edo State that came from Ife as well. The family salutation in USEN or Benin for instance of families with Ife ancestry is DELAUHE (How is UFE or Ife) .

Oranmiyan is of direct Yoruba descent and the grandson of Oduduwa who originally came from his homeland of Oke Ora in Osun State just 8 miles away from Ufe (Ife). "Oke" means hill in Yoruba language while "Ora" refers to the Yoruba deity. So, if it is stated that Oduduwa descended from heaven (or sky), it's a religious metaphor or allegory meaning that Oduduwa descended from the "hills" of Oke Ora (in the present Osun State) and came to establish a new dynasty in Ife. Oduduwa Dynasty is the 3rd Dynasty in Ife, according to the current Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, so, the ancestors of modern Yorubas have live for centuries in Ife and elsewhere before Oduduwa was born. Oduduwa is just one of the ancestral branches of the Yorubas and Nigeria's respected historian and former Ambassador to Germany, Professor Jide Osuntokun who wrote an article in the Guardian newspaper in 2004 on the Benin/Ile Ife relationship clearly stated this FACT with archaeological evidence and more. There were other autochthonous communities in Yorubaland before the advent of Oduduwa from his nearby homeland of Oke Ora before coming to Ife just 8 miles away. As part of the Ife coronation rites, every Ooni of Ife goes to Oke Ora before becoming an Oba.

it is not a myth, if you have an open mind you would see the truth, the bini mornachy is older than ile ife's monarchy, if ile ife never had a monarchy then how come they could give bini a monarchy, history never had it that bini an ife fought a war even if a war was fought the bini kingdom was larger and mightier than ife so ife could never had conquered the bini kingdom and take over the monarchy, also ife never had a direct line of succession the monarchy was being seized by coup plotters several people ruled ife even a servant once ruled ife, think about it, if ife never had a direct line of succession how can anyone believe they gave bini a king, the Truth still remains a bini prince once ruled ife and the oba is a direct descendant of that prince.

From what I've read, ife didn't fight with THE Benin Kingdom but rather with Igodomigodo (the kingdom that preceded the Benin Kingdom)

The OP produced a short video while trying to deceive the gullible. This is the full video. Here is a summary of What the oba of Benin said during his coronation;

Oduduwa was a benin prince who was exiled and went on to become ruler in Ile life. After the ogiso dynasty ended in Benin, the benin people were in need of a ruler and they reached out to their exiled prince. Instead of coming, he sent his son (oranmiyan) to benin to rule and oramiyan gave birth to Eweka the first and later left the kingdom.

A Benin Prince (Oduduwa) founded Ile life after he went on exiled from the Benin kingdom.

We look totally different in physical appearance, most of us have light skin as well while the only people among them that are light skin are people from Ondo state. If you trace history those Ondo people might have come from Benin kingdom as well.
