Here's the thing, getting an ATM that may pay most bills and behave badly while she cook, clean, have sex even when she don't feel like it, risk her life 1+x times to bear children, be subservient to a probably bad boss who has a higher chance to harm her physically, thinks it is acceptable to cheat and renegade on the vows he made, is not a good deal for a lot of women(This is marriage in a nutshell for women). This is why society and media has to keep priming women to want marriage or face consequences if they don't.

Even biology has to scam women with hormones after going through the most painful experience of their lives to make them forget the pain as a consolation. A lot of women are miserable in their marriages too.

The day nigerian women wake up to realise that they are no longer interested in the scraps and potential headaches that men are dangling in the name of marriage, and the juice is most likely not worth is squeeze is coming, and nigerian men will be the one to cry more than the bereaved just like in western cultures.

And the shit I see women go through in the name of pregnancy and childrearing alone, not even other things, marriage is almost not worth it because many husband's don't know the true meaning of in sickness and in health. Nigerian Men need to be better as a whole.

2. Getting abandoned with a pregnancy.
3. Mood swings and weird cravings
4. Medical gaslighting especially if the doctor is male or the nurses are unkind.
5. Being pressured to reject life saving medical care because of religious beliefs of her or her husband
5. Post-partum depression and psychosis
6. Insults from in-laws especially if she gives birth to a girl.
7. Extra work once the baby is born
8. Miscarriages.

Physical shit.

1. Getting sicker, weaker, slower and fatter.
2. Destroying your body.
3. Becoming 2nd priority in your life now that you have a child.
4. The child could be born with problems.
5. Bleeding to death.
6. Womb rupturing during labour and Bleeding to death.
7. Having high blood pressure which could lead to seizures, coma, and death.
8. Complications arising in labor leading to infertility and death.
9. Saw a patient die few days after childbirth because she had tapeworms which would not have put her in a vulnerable position if she wasn't pregnant.
10. Vesico-vagina fistula.
11. Losing all your teeth.
12. Nose getting fat and almost ugly.
13. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
14. Fracturing your hip, leaving you paralyzed for months and being abandoned by the father of child.
15.Vaginal tears which some doctors sew up without proper pain relief.

God there's more, more gruesome stories.

Common, let's be realistic, a lot of Nigerian men are not this bad na. They try their best to take care of their wives in all stages of pregnancy, puerperium, and onwards

But the good ones don't pay attention to details and tend to take things for granted. Evil will prevail when good is silent.They also don't disparage the bad ones, leaving a bad taste in women's mouths.
