Hi All,

A quick one. Applied for UK visa, sent a follow up mail to ask the status and was informed a decision has been made. This was two weeks ago. Since then, nothing. No mail from the decision letter box or from VFS.

Has anyone had similar experience? What can I do to get a status update?

what’s the visa category? Study or a visit visa? Secondly, did you paid for Courier service? If yes or No try to contact Vfs either in Lagos or in Abuja Or track your passport through Vfs website https://atlantis-abs-uk.vfsglobal.com/sign-in Use the link to track your visa application and your passport if it has been dispatched

Pls I want to ask if there is anyone that has use airframe,klm,or luthansa airline reservation to apply for u k visa and was granted before? Cos they said transit visa is required those it means we can not use them to apply or we can.

Merry Christmas. You don't need an airline reservation for a UK visa. I've never used it.

When you get the visa, avoid any airline that requires a transit visa.

I have been trying to make payment for my UK visa application with Gtbank USD visa card for the past 2 weeks, all attempts proof abortive. I have reach out to Gtbank and they claim that everything is fine at their end.

I had to send someone to their office in Ikeja to get a tracking number because there was none in the courier receipt

They used GIG logistics, we didn’t wait for them to call, immediately it delivered to GIG Benin office via tracking my mum went there to collect herself

It's a spousal settlement visa. We didn't use courier. VFS does not have any contact on their site. If you have the email or phone number I can reach I would appreciate it.

It's a spousal settlement visa. We didn't use courier. VFS does not have any contact on their site. If you have the email or phone number I can reach I would appreciate it.

So I have finalized documentation and intend to apply for a UK tourist visa next month (January) to travel to the UK in March just for one week to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Please find below my attached documents:

Attached Documents
 Travel Documents: My passport biodata page and copies of previous United States and United Kingdom study visas issued within the last ten years.
 Financial Evidence: Stamped salary breakdown (showing prior and current total renumeration), email receipts confirming salary increments, recent pay slips from employer, Naira salary account statements, and Standard Chartered Bank United States Dollar (USD) savings account statements for the most recent three-month period.
 Accommodation and Travel Details: A detailed travel itinerary & budget breakdown, invitation letter from my host and her supporting documentation (passport biodata page and recent utility bill)
 Employment Details and Economic Ties: A letter of introduction from my employer, an employment confirmation letter and a signed leave approval letter from my supervisor, which all prove my economic ties.
 Evidence of Family Ties to Nigeria: My birth certificate and a signed letter from my father who I reside with, confirming family responsibilities.
 Additional Information: A copy of my host's Nigerian visa sticker proving that she has visited me in Nigeria and photos, proving our relationship.

Regarding financial evidence, since my salary increased effective from November 1st, I only intend to submit my salary account statements, pay slips and USD savings account statements for November, December and January, since this three-month period reflects my current income and spending patterns, and provides an accurate representation of my ability to support myself during my stay in the UK. My net monthly salary is 881,633.50 Naira (454.15 GBP). However, in November and December this year, I received additional end of year allowances from my employer, which boosted my November inflows to 1,324,341.83 Naira (682.20 GBP) and December inflows to 2,038,233.50 Naira (1,049.94 GBP). All of these inflows are explained in my cover letter. With that said, I currently have at least $1,500 sitting in my salary account and at least $7,500 in my USD savings account, so a total of at least $9,000 to show as funds.

Regarding my travel budget, I am budgeting about 520 GBP for a week (excluding accommodation which will be covered by my host and excluding flights), then a total of 950 to 1,000 GBP for a week (including flights). 

I understand there are some instances where applicants have been granted visas with three months account statements, so I hope submitting account statements for a three month period won't result to a visa denial, especially since I have a valid reason stated in my cover letter for submitting bank statements for the most recent three month period and have been issued UK study visas twice within the last ten years, demonstrating travel history.

Based on the documents listed, my financial circumstances and my travel budget, do you think I have a strong chance? Looking forward to feedback from applicants who have been successful, particularly those who submitted bank statements for three months and were granted visas.

It is too early to be nervous about an application that was submitted on December 16. If you take Saturday, Sunday, and Christmas Day into consideration, then your application is just like 7 days old as of today, December 26.

After January 9, you can begin to worry if you don't hear from them.

In my view, your documentation is well thought through and I would say you have a very good chance of getting the visa.

Regarding your bank statements, UKVI's website doesn't officially specify how many months to provide but generally it is seen as good practice to submit six months. Personally I would have no problems with submitting three months if I was applying and that was all I had available to me. However experience has taught me that I should not give whoever is reviewing my application any excuse to deny me the visa. If providing six months of statements strengthens the proof of financial evidence better than three months then I will provide six. I think I understand your reasons for using Nov-Jan but I don't see any harm done if you include Aug-Oct. Besides the change in income is there any other reason you want to exclude them?

Finally, are you including any photo identification or additional documents for your father? Because if I put myself in the ECO's shoes I would be asking what connects the birth certificate to the signed letter if you understand what I mean.

I don't know if this will do any much; this is what I did and they're responding now.

I chatted vfs global on Facebook, sent a mail to their media director expressing my dissatfaction(even though i though i knew it was not his job role, i apologised for this but still made my point); as I speak, some vfs customer care has taken up the case requesting.

Bio was completed in November. Around the 20th.
https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk you can use that link for follow up. You will need to pay about £3 but they usually respond quickly. Won't give you specific, just let you know if you've been assessed or if there's a delay and then have it escalated

Thanks for your response. Regarding the additional documentation for my father, I can also attach a copy of his passport's biodata page, which has a photo of him, date of birth, etc. My birth certificate is really just to show his relationship to me as my father.

Secondly, I want to exclude account statements for earlier months because in September and October, there were a few days where my bank balance dropped to 0 Naira, due to a funds transfer between multiple accounts and also due to inflated expenses as a result of car repairs, etc. Hence, to limit the amount of explaining I will need to do on the cover letter if I provide account statements for earlier months, I just felt that it would be better to only provide account statements for the most recent three-month period, i.e. November, December and January. Hope this makes sense?

And yes, your explanation on the bank statements makes sense. Although I want to add that from what I have seen, a zero naira bank account balance is not really a problem. The cashflow seems to be what they prioritize. Anyways, at this point it looks to me like you are good to go. I presume you will be submitting at the end of January in order to include the full three months?

1) 10 years ago I use my first wife as my spouse with her three children as dependents,I was denied then,but now I want to reapply using my second wife as my spouse and are children as dependents, I hope I will not be denied cos of this? But I will explain in the additional information page.

2) 10years ago my parents was among the dependants I use them,but my parents are late last year,I want to reapply and I click that I don't have my parents details,I hope this will not cause rad flag?

3) 10 year ago I declare landed property but I sold the land, now that I want to reapply I choose I rent on the application form,I also hope it will not cause red flag? But I will also explain in the additional page of the application.

4) 10 year ago my work change from public servant, salary then was #200.000 , but now am self employed, salary now is #500.000, I hope it will not cause any issue?
