Good morning good friends of nairaland and compliments of the season, please I have try not to bring this online but I am loosing it already,

I got a job to resume in Abuja this January but up till now all my effort to secure a place is not successful, I have no where to stay,

I am seeking assistant from any one who can accommodate me for just January alone, pls it’s a tight situation here,

The fear is, that person is gonna be stuck with u for the whole year or more than that, Abuja people no dey fall for this scope anymore.

It's not easy to be on your feet here in one month, six months self... One year gan. Except you earn meaningful 6 figures and above monthly, then you can stand up so soon...

Feel for you op.

In Lagos, there is the option for staying in a hostel.
Also, the option of getting a shared apartment.

Why not explore such options in abuja?

I am not gonna stay more than January,I just need to start the work every other thing will fall in place

The company no get security room, go there and sleep there for 6 months and save up to get your own apartment.

@iyatola some positions in some jobs don’t demand you sleep in security house, that will have impact on how your are perceived on your ability to occupy such position.

Are there hostels for accommodation in nigeria. Never heard of it before. How does it look or operates like?

Also, the option of getting a shared apartment.

You could be 4/5 in a room.

Once you pay, you have access to a bunk and a cleaner does the needful the following morming.

There are some I am aware of:
> In igando area of ajah
> In Somolu
> in yaba, Lagos etc.

Back in the days of hustling, the person I met in the Bus I travelled to Abuja with was the one that accommodated me the very first time I went to Abuja.

Where is the location of your new place of work?
How much do you have presently for accommodation?

These two questions are very important.
For instance, you can't be working in central Area and you're staying at kubwa. It's a whole long distance. Tfare will axe your monthly pay.

If you are within Abuja, you can still get affordable accomodations around Apo resettlements, Kabusa, Apo mechanic axis, Lugbe(most especially Tunduwada area), Galadimawa, etc.

I might give you a number to contact anyways.

Oga stay where you have shelter. Your employers should be able to secure an accommodation for you if it's a genius job and your worth is valuable

Why not get a loan and seek an apartment for a start. Since things will fall in place, you should be able to pay back before 6 months.

In the meantime, find a rundown hotel to put your things. Shouldn't be more than ₦2,000 per night.

Bro I understand your situation. I have been there before but I will offer a sincere advice that can be an alternative if you dont get any one to help out on accomodation prior to your resumption.

I will advise you don't loose the job you have gotten. Now what you will do is travel to Abuja like a week before your resumption date go to any big church, like the churches that have branches everywhere in the country and tell the lead pastor of the district that you are a member and explain the situation to him. Trust me you will find help within the church if you are a Christian.

But any church you are claiming make sure you can defend yourself because some pastors will like to investigate before accommodating or pairing you with anyone.

If the job is good enough that OP can’t sleep in security room. He should take loan and get himself a small place and repay.

If you re religious then time to meet your religious leaders around there for help. They might accommodate you in the church or mosque quarters for a while.

You guys talk as if you're not Nigerians, where and who will give you a loan in Nigeria to rent a house without collateral.

Mscheww you are the one talking like JJC, don’t you have family? Church? Mosque? Friends? even approaching his new employer is an option.

Which dirty collateral, how much house should a guy like that be looking to rent at this stage, there are alot of apps that can give you atleast 300k. do your research.

Shared apartment. Is it the one that in a three bedroom apartment, different individual will be staying in each room?

Anytime I'm approaching the unknown..

That's my fess option.

You will stay with unknown ppl at a whim.

Key word - don't show yourself, make dem no obtain you.
