I just saw a picture alleged to be from a prison in Nigeria and it really touched me. Is this what prisoners pass through?

Many of them are absolutely innocent of what they are charged for.
Many are just victims of the ineffectual judiciary system of Nigeria and her lawlessness.
Many have been awaiting trials since the days of Banbagida.

A visit to any correctional facility closest to you will save you from this stark ignorance.

Those committing real crimes don't go to jail, even if at all they go, definitely not this in that picture. Majority of people in that picture mostly got there because of fight, petty stealing, being raided at smoking joints, some spent their boss's money and etc...

The real criminals like, kidnappers, murderer, ritualist has a godfather that will always take them out of such mess... Thanks to the bad judicial system.

A minute Google will clear ur doubt that over 70% of prisoners are awaiting trials....over 70% of them no conclusive judgement as been passed as to if they are guilty or not cos of the inefficient judicial system we have...

Remember Endsars that leads to raiding people ad bundle them in prison.... Remember Soldier Raids that leads to raiding innocent people...where do u think they dump them.....? Nigeria prisons

Let's talk about how Police bundle protesters into cell and remand on baseless charges without court charges..

Do I burst your bubbles? Over 50 percent of inmates in Nigeria are innocent people awaiting trial. Sometimes innocent family members are arrested in order to lure their criminal family member out and if that doesn't happen and without a lawyer, these persons remain in prison awaiting court appearance that would never happen. Sometimes, our poli**cians order the arrest of powerless people that have crossed their paths. Please learn to keep an open mind.

You need to know that crimes are committed everyday, so u think they don't ever end up in jail?

Serious crimes o, where I served in osun state I met a lot of ex convicts, they deserved it and they did their time
