Language is open-ended. New words are always created.

When a new word or phrase gains wider usage, it enters the dictionary.

If we had a well compiled dictionary of Nigerian English, most of these words I read in this thread would surely be found in it
Are you now being xenophobic towards me for being a foreign national on a public platform that was created by a Nigerian?

Facebook was also made purely for Americans, but aren't there any Nigerians on Facebook?

There's also this other Ghanaian forum I was in before I joined nairaland and Nigerians are packed in there, more active than the Ghanaians, but I haven't seen a single Ghanaian asking them what they were doing on a Ghanaian forum.

So why is my case different?😥😥😥[/quote

Never mind ,l was just being inquisitive how you came into nairaland. Truly speaking,l do not have ulterior motive behind it.Nonetheless, we learn everyday. I personally learned one or two things from you.Would you please give mei if you don't mind the site for Ghanian from you talked about. Regards Samantha.

I had a Nigerian friend back in varsity who introduced the forum to me... I first registered my first account in 2019, but I got nervous and immediately logged out until 2022.

And I'll get banned if I mention the Ghanaian forum here, I got banned twice before.

Just googled it and you'll see it.

Ours is British English not American's. That word is wrong. Could be correct in American English.
Stop saying things you know nothing about. Both varieties of Englishes are accepted here in Nigeria hence, WAECE and NECO accept the consistent use of any in their examinations.

It's practicalize
z is American while s is British. Long ago, if you use z in spelling in Nigeria, your teacher will fail you. Later, many microsoft word packages are set to use American English, flagging British spellings as wrong sometimes. Many use autocorrection and thus dish out write-ups with mixed (American and British english). Today, it seems very few or nobody cares anymore.
