chrisley024:De Light is struggling in this system, i would prefer Mazraoui or Yoro as a RCB and Maguire as CB over him in his current form.. |

chrisley024:I don't think he's an upgrade. he's alright although a bit careless today. why he slid in that first goal when Japko had the ball on his weaker side and in a cornered angle made no sense to me. it is important to at least do your homework on the players that are more likely to operate in your area of the pitch. |

ChristineC:Higher xG means nothing. If you have fewer shorts on goal but higher efficiency, then it’s closer to 1. Shows probability of scoring from chances created which is on the back of several factors. You can great few quality chances with high xG. It’s expected and not actual. And again, there are several other factors used including high possession even if it’s all at the middle of the park. |

chrisley024:That Swedish lesbian? 100% as a defender. But Lindelof is better on ball. |

Ellexy:I'm not sure. |

Trevor012:What nonsense? Check my posting records. Before the game started I said the game will be closer and tighter than the 5-0 that idiot pundit Chris Sutton predicted. My reason for saying this game should be postponed or called off was the snow and iced drive ways all around Anfield. Calling for a game to be called off because of weather mishaps in order for fans to not be injured or break their necks does not mean a fan is afraid of a defeat. The good health of the football fans is more important than the three points at stake. Liverpool football club were more interested in the three points at stake than the safety of their ticket holding fans. On the basis of this game they deserved to lose. However 2-2 is a fair result. United may not be there yet,but I believe in Ruben Amorim and his system. The team will finally get better and the players who can not play the system will be jettisoned in the end. A football club should always respect their opponents. If a team underates any team in this league that team will be found out and disgraced. Liverpool football club underated Manchester United football club before this game despite them being their biggest rivals. Liverpool were lucky to escape with a draw. They should have lost if Maguire was a lethal striker! |

MRTA7:He's physically stronger, more aggressive, aerially superior to Lindelof. Both have average pace. Lindelof has more football IQ though. |

If we do any open heart surgery again, it should be on the attack. We didn't really sell anybody there and everyone ETH bought in those positions is just complete dross. We are likely to end another season with less than 5 GD and it will be because of them |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 8:00pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
Ellexy:Same Lindelof wey una wan kill for here. God will forgive Utd fans. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by ChristineC: 8:00pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
nitrogen:so if the team consistently registers higher %possession, higher xG, more touches in opponents' boxes, not rolling over to be pounded like a bag of sand even away at difficult stadia, how is the system problematic? two things; we need to fix conceding from set plays and find someone who can consistently put away chances. that will be a start. Bruno has dropped his scoring boots, sadly! |

nitrogen:Point out what is false in my statement and yes Lindelof should be moved on. |

engrelvis:Inconsistent effort level. Our players do not maintain 100% effort level minute to minute or game to game. We can lose the next home league game 3-0. |

Ugarte just dey give me joy.. This is d old Mazaroui l know esp dt surging run upfront. |

afrodoc2:Pretty obvious. Yet our resident inert gas will keep saying it's the manager not playing to the strength of the players |

ChristineC:Agree that we need to fix the set piece issues, which is on the coaching team. Higher possession and more touches don’t win games. It’s what we do with the possession. High xG is driven by the expected possession (dependent on style) and the fact that we create quality chances albeit very few. You are also looking at the attacking side of the style only, we know that our defence has been shyte (of course due to set piece issues, but also because we are caught unawares at the back when teams counter us). We are exposed at the back when we lose the ball through mistakes or anything because we are left with just three players at the back as our wing backs can’t easily recover or are too far from their defensive positions. If we take our few quality chances, it’s fantastic, but may not be sustainable especially when playing against small teams that are defensively organized. |

Manuel Ugarte is 23 and Kobbie Mainoo is 20.. We may have finally been able to sort out midfield for at least the next five years barring any serious injury to any of the two.. |

Goosethetruth:The bolded kinda downplays the decent performance by United today tbh Which one be underate for there again? Considering our abysmal form prior to this game, you really can't blame anyone for writing the team off before kickoff. Our next PL fixtures are ; • Southampton (H) • Brighton (H) • Fulham (A) • Crystal palace (H) A minimum 9 points here would do us a whole lot of good... I understand there might be one or 2 additions to the squad when the January TW opens. |

If we lose the next match watch him say the manager should ditch his tactics to accommodate players wey no get any strength in the first place |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 8:13pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
Lana1:We cannot do much with an inflexible style. That’s the fact! We are too predictable and that’s why every dick and Harry is ready to beat us. There are games where a simple 4-4-2 will dismantle the opponent. Flexibility ensures you exploit the strengths of your players and mask their weaknesses. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 8:14pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
nitrogen:We can almost predict the starting 11 if most of the players are fit. Bruno, Amad and Hojlund as attackers. Mainoo and Ugarte have been playing together for some time now. Dalot and Maz have been consistent as WB for some games now. I think its the CB that hasn't really been consistent. As for the Case and Eriksen midfield against Newcastle, Amorim needed to rest his first choice which are Mainoo and Ugarte |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 8:15pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
Lana1:Players wey no get strength played well against Liverpool but don’t want to play well against Bou and Westham. You think they are happy that we are 14th and are being beaten by the likes of Wolves? Make it makes sense na. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 8:17pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
eph12:The midfield and defence have seen various players since Amorim joined. How many times have Ugarte and Mainoo started together this season? Also the back three. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 8:18pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
Lana1:Spot on. We should be aggressive with getting an attacker that can beat players or one that can score and comfortable with the ball to his feet. Anything less that this will see us finishing the season around the 10th position |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 8:22pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
A style that isolates our striker against small teams. Erasmus saw lots of the ball today because it was Liverpool that is more focused on scoring vs defending. Unfortunately, he is not the type that can do much with it, which means against small teams, he’s completely useless. Lukaku, Osinmen type of players would do better as they are more aggressive, will come hustle for the ball and will do something on their own when they receive the ball. Erasmus is not fit for this style at all. In the meantime, to mask his weakness, what would a reasonable manager do? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Lana1(m): 8:24pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
nitrogen:New manager. New system. The 3-4-3 he is trying to implement hasn't clicked yet but you want him to be switching formation every 1 game because Bruno and Dalot that turned up against Liverpool today suddenly forgot how to play football 3 days later against Bournemouth. In situations like that it is the players that will have to change not the system. We have seen what Amorim's system looks like against top teams and it is clear it is the players that are stupîd. Not the manager. For example Hojlund today |

nitrogen:Which manager do you know that changes formation every match? Play 442 today, play 343 the next |
