My upbringing might be the problem. I am a Jehovah’s Witness and we believe in sex after marriage. If I have sex before marriage, I have fornicated. And there is a huge punishment for that in the congregation and in my family. They all gonna disassociate from me including my family because I’m stained and i should be immediately removed from the congregation so I don’t pollute it. Yeah!!! I couldn’t forfeit my love for God, my family and the congregation. I love those 3 things and I watch them stand while I watch my romance life sink. I have no regret so far.

The fact that I said I love like a Mumu shouldn’t give you the assertion that my bf is my world. Those 3 things came before him. I love God and want to do his will at all time but lol, I’m imperfect, I do things that sadden his heart sometimes. I love my family and I won’t want a situation whereby my mom, dad, siblings gonna be seeing me like a total stranger, you shouldn’t compare my family love to a bf. Then my religion, I love my religion so much that I’ve lived all my life attending Christian meeting, Infact I was a regular pioneer in my Kingdom Hall then, so many young ones would look at me like an idol, I get compliments from young and old whenever I deliver assignments on the platforms, assemblies and so on. As at then there was no congregation within my community that I was not recognized. I was so devoted that the only thing that can make me give up in a relationship was sex. The moment I fornicate, I’d need God’s forgiveness right? Before I can be forgiven I need to confess my sins to the body of elders and guess what? I will be punished severely. Everything I hold in high esteem will be taken away from me, My family will desert me, my congregation would treat me like an outcast, at that point I am no longer God’s favorite, because how can I willingly sin against him and then kneel before him to pray. There were too many things on the line and I couldn’t forfeit any. Once I meet a dude and he tells me to fornicate, I knew our love era has ended. But aside that common? I don’t expect anything in relationship while I give my attention, resources, heart but not my body to exes. Do you think it’s was easy for me? My friends don’t buy common recharge cards for their bf and they still get daily allowances but me will buy food stuffs, pay for my transport to his place and he’d even offer me some token when I’m leaving I’ll stupidly tell them I have my own transport. Once I hear I’m not happy from my exes like this I’ll be running helta skelta pulling my resources for them, money that I won’t dare spend on me, I’ll send it to one werey guy because I need him to be happy, I was buying car part for one like that because he lost his job and I don’t want his friends to laugh at him, I’ll feed him, send him small change to hold as a guy, buy him car parts whenever his car broke down, I wasn’t driving a car but there was no car part that I don’t know, and at the end of those sacrifices you look me in the eye and tell me it’s only sex that can prove my love for you?. If you think that i wasn’t stupid enough, then this is the end of this conversation with you.

I can tell you it was real love, because I was the one spending in that relationship, dude never gave me 1 kobo. I would visit him, buy foodstuffs , cook, clean and all, Because I couldn’t open my legs then, dude left me for a lady who was willing to open her legs. The betrayal I felt then broke me into pieces. I promised not to love anyone but I was lying to myself. I kept loving and loving and still loving.

Which country did this one happen? Gambia? Lol. Because if you wanna tell me this happened in Nigeria then jokes on you. The only reason a Nigeria woman would willingly tell her husband to marry a second wife is if she’s barren. She might pity her husband especially when she confirms she’s the problem. It’s normal and wise for her to implore her husband to marry a second wife. It is cultural believed by yorubas that children bring more children, she might be hoping that her paving way for her husband to get a co-wife and they bearing children might open the way of child bearing for her. And sometimes there are selfish ones that immediately they give birth through that process, because truly that process sometimes work, they begin to envy the Co-wife because she has the heir, and then problem begins in the household.

It’s better to leave a crazy marriage than allow my husband and second wife trample on my dignity. An independent woman can never accept polygamy, Na hunger and long throat fit make you embrace polygamy.
