This woman failed her son abeg. I don't know if she is a weakling, or if it is just condition that has made so 'gentle'.

As for the school, they need to be questioned. Why did it have to take a social media uproar for them to take action, even after the pastor reported??

This kid was failed by those who should have protected him.
The woman did the right thing the best way she could. Don't take the law into your own hands.
A man returned one day found his wife and another man in their bed out of anger he hit the man with hard object and the man died he was arrested and sentenced somehow got out after over 20 years only to find his wife married to his landlord with kids.

You are an illiterate it is very obvious.
"Beat the rod, and spoil the child" gibberish I am sure that is a reasonable excuse to abuse children.

If in 2025 you think the best way to discipline a child is physical abuse it shows how inept, and pathetic you are. I am sure no country beats their children more than us yet we turn out scammers, cultists, corrupts individuals like no other I am sure those guys were not beaten in their childhood. Otondoo.

Very same mentality that's giving birth to the morally deficient children we're seeing in the streets on a daily basis today.

No one is supporting her high-handedness and she's already being punished for it, but let us all not pretend as if practical discipline has become a taboo in our society, which was what she probably intended.

But trust Nigerians on social media such as these clowns to always exaggerate matters especially when they emanate from social media. Forming woke over nonsense. Na only for Internet them sabi get outrage, and always over seemingly minor issues.

You are definitely illiterate lol.
There is literally zero single evidence that coporal punishment a romantic name for physical abuse has made any child better. Literally zero fact based evidence of such.

Meanwhile there are tons of negative effects of such from mental health issues, to terrible parent-child relationships and most deadly of it all physical injuries.

But no let's justify it because that is how we where brought up.

Proper idiotic reasoning the righteous generation that were brought up on flogging and abuse are the same that are largely responsible for the terrible state Nigeria is now which is a stark contrast to how ideally moralistic they are suppose to be not the so called "morally deficient children of now" animalll.

Everything about Nigerians is sensationalism.

We have this repulsive habit of giving maximum energy to minor issues.

A primary school teacher goes overboard with the discipline of a child, yes she did wrong. Ordinarily, her sack should be enough of a disciplinary measure while the school puts more efforts into the reorientation of its staff. But trust Nigerians to always get emotional and overly animated.

Police has entered. Government ministry has entered. Bloggers have now entered. We'll end up seeing dozens of articles related to this one issue on the front page for the next one week huh.
is called control damage .

But I wish d ministry of education to review discipline code of conduct in regard to discipline pupils,nd secondary students

In when I was in secondary a teacher explained to us why they DNT flog females in her bum bum ,only on their palms unlike boys
because according to him it is human right abuse .

Even we parents needs to be taught hw to discipline a child the right way .discipline is important .but there is a code of conduct

I am having no conflict of opinions. My stance is arrest and remand in prison is an overkill. She was dismissed, and this is appropriate punishment. If not that the case has already gone far, she surely would not have laid her hand on any child in the next school that employs to avoid a repetition of what led to her dismissal in her previous place of employment.

As for the mother, I still insist she failed her child. Why did she have to go to her pastor to report? Why didn't she go to the school authorities directly, or if she doesn't want issues, confront the woman herself? Which right thinking parent will see this and keep silent? It was likely the pastor that insisted on reporting to the school because she was too cowardly to face her own colleague at work.
Coward? No! She was probably concerned about the fallout and given her situation, she was doing everything to prevent what later happened: escalation which could cost her job. This woman is a widow for God's sake. You are probably an independent woman with some level of power, you might not understand the vulnerability of women in this category

Vulnerability has nothing to do with this
Going by how the school treated her after video leaked by seizing her phone (despite not being the one who leaked it) and she still refused to implicate them, it was glaring she was protecting her job. That's being vulnerable, I'm just surprised that you didn't see the connection.

The truth remains...this child has been suffering this abuse for long due to the mother giving the teacher free hands to discipline her child for being a slow learner while the teachet now took such parental permission to the extreme.
The fact of the matter is parents often compare their children with other children and thereby always bitter to see their children not catching up like other children. They thereby ask teachers to beat them till they catch up.

Don't mind him, the way we were raised has affected most of them. They believed that those beatings and physical abuse made them turned out well. So, they are going to raise their own kids too using the same method. Instead of them to seek knowledge online on how to raise your kids without beatings, even without raising your voice.
I'm glad I did some researches on better ways of parenting

All the more reason why this mother should be called out for her actions. She works at the school and must have seen violence instigated against other students at the same school before this. Why did it take another stranger recording the video for her to suddenly realize what was wrong? undecided

2. Did this mother say she was OK with her child getting hit or something? undecided

I guess the school authority would have hid this whole issue hence why she sent the video to her pastor first. Because I don't see any reason why she will have to send it to her pastor first. Can't she confront the teacher herself since they are even colleagues?

Or maybe the son's teacher is a bully?
If you try this nonsense with my child, even if I cannot beat you, I will hire men to beat shege comot your body.

But normally I trust myself, I will tap strength from my child's tears and pains and beat the demon out of you.

I can go to jail cos of my child, atleast I will be satisfied that I didn't fail to protect him/her.

Confront the teacher for what exactly? She has video proof of the crime so what would she need to have gotten from the teacher after that? An excuse to make the crime less of the criminal offense that it is? huh

2. The teacher assaulted the boy. Of course, that is bullying behavior! huh

3. You commit a crime in retaliation to a crime? And then you will wonder why crime has come to be a mainstay in the daily life of Nigerians. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

4. So you teach your child that violence is OK, like many other Nigerians continue to, and then you wonder why even your police think it OK to violently assault all of una, against the very Law they are meant to instead enforce. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
