What is idolatry? Idolatry is anything that comes between us and God. Joshua told his people that their nation would be destroyed if they persisted in idolatry, and their souls would suffer eternal death. He said, “You must make your decision today. You must decide whether you want to serve the idols of this life, or the living God.” “Choose you this day,” said Joshua, “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” What about you? Are you taking your stand with Joshua? No matter what the cost? I am asking you to choose this day whom you will serve. Our families cannot choose Christ for us. Our friends cannot do it. God is a great God, but even God can’t make the decision for us. He can help, but only we can decide. We have to make our own choice.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, take away the idols in my life so that, completely undivided, I may serve You, my Savior.

Bowing down for a statue

Wondering where the Catholics got their inspirations from

While in the pentecostal churches, some pastors have became a statue which their members bow to. One was even saying he won't attend his members wedding should they wed outside his church. They have turned themselves to demi god

The Slight difference is Catholics bow to Images/statues of Jesus Christ, Mary and maybe a Saints,
But do not Revere them as Items to be worshipped.

But most Traditionalists bow to Images and totally Revere it as a god!.

When Aaron made a Statue for the Isrealites, they worshipped it as a god!.

Catholic do NOT see or Treat their Statues as gods.

Idolatry is anything you love more than God and any image you worship against God's will.

(1) If someone loves his or spouse, job, career, body, business etc more than God, and gives attention to it more than God, it is idolatry.

(2) If someone worships an image or picture, like the image is a deliverer, helper, saviour: this is idolatry. Mind you, if I see an image of Jesus Christ and I feel happy about it or say "Jesus you are wonderful". It is not idolatry, except I begin to worship and depend on the image regularly for deliverance, salvation e.t.c.

(3) worshipping dieties, gods e.t.c is idolatry.

If you choose or worship any other god(s) apart from the Holy God, you are idolator or pagan .
