Peter, Paul and co even had professions before becoming Apostles. During their missionary lives, they were sponsored by the church through donations and so on. So who told you they were poor?

Man is influenced by higher spiritual forces both good and bad. He gains or loss things from faithfulness and unfaithfulness.

Also Sin that leads to poverty is not just fornication, murder or what we see as common sin. Laziness, unproductivity is also Sin.

If a deity worshipper gains power, fame, money by being faithful. He or she can loose those things by being unfaithful
