Even though this rubbish you posted with is riddled with lots of exaggerations, half-truths and fallacies...have you in your best of human conscience (if you have any left) asked yourself why insecurity in the SE which was almost unheard of for so many years under previous administrations suddenly skyrocketed and became a norm when Buhari/APC took over? Once again a upon and not too long ago, the SE was adjudged the most peaceful region in Nigeria, so much so that the only common crimes then were armed robbery incidents. How come everything changed so fast in just 4 years of APC under Buhari?

Yes the SE leadership and people themselves can't be blameless from this new conundrum most of which is self-inflicted, but let's not pretend the reason why ESN was formed in the first place was to curb the sudden incursion of Fulani bandits into the SE, a region the APC government failed to protect and carry along! ESN went rogue and derailed from it's mission and various criminal splinter groups invaded the East and took advantage of the chaos, and the rest is now history.

I can guarantee you that over 50% of the violence in the SE are politically sponsored, especially since the discovery of huge deposits of natural gas in
the region.

Ask yourself why every square foot mile of highways across the South East have the heavy presence of military checkpoints, yet abductions still occur on those same axis almost on a daily basis...are these kidnappers so invincible that a whole stretch of roads dotted by DSS, Military, Police and even Navy checkpoints can't detect them?

There was never a time SE was the most peaceful region in the South. Not before Buhari and not in 1999.

I agree the main escalation of insecurity started during Buhari period but I put the blame on Ibo leaders. Nnamdi Kanu came into the scene fiercely preaching hatred while they look on. He went militant, fomented trouble, then after the army deal with his men, he went into militia mode and ever since then peace ceased in Ibo land.

Buhari hands were tied then. Anything he said then, the whole Ibo people will abuse him and say he is trying to cleanse them so the man just abandoned SE and allowed it to self destruct.

I agree with you. The SE governors and leaders share in the blame too because they are too timid and careless. Their inaction made Kanu step in and when non state actors take command of ammunition, it does not always end well.

Fulani herdsmen are dregs of the society and if ESN have kept to their own “manifesto” of eliminating herdsmen from the East, no sane person would have abuse them.

When non state actors use ammunition against the state, it’s either you go underground where no one can trace you or else you are calling for chaos. Nigeria military will always react.

How many checkpoint are in the South East? Nigeria army themselves lack personnel. People in the SE don’t also cooperate with them so it will be very hard to make progress. NE was like that before, people have more loyalty to Boko Haram than to the state. It wasn’t until when Boko mud them so much that Nigeria army won the people over.

Few checkpoint on the road can’t do nada. The only thing it can do is to push the killings away from the city and make it relatively peaceful compared to the rural areas.

Yes I have a conscience. I like how you mentioned bandits alarm in the SW. Do you see how we are handling it? The governors themselves stepped in, Amotekun worked with the police in Osun to arrest those Boko boys coz they got intel that it was the first place they camped at. We use the instrument of the government and not non-state actors.

I am a Yoruba Muslim too. We have always have pockets of few Islamic radicals being influenced by the North, but they are too small to foment any trouble. They will only try but they won’t be successful.

We know how to handle them, and we’ve been handling them all these years. It is not easy to manage a 50/50 religiously divided ethnic and not have one or two crazy radicals.
