Apply online, it's very fast. Go to your designation of choice for fingerprinting, and get your certificate before the end of that day.
Thanks very much,I have done it....I went to Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Ikoyi, Lagos

To add to this, there are numerous situations where an applicant receives bonus payments or allowances from their employer. In such cases, these payments must be clearly explained in the cover letter, as long as they appear in the applicant's salary account statement. For example, if an applicant (e.g. Ade) received 500,000 Naira as a leave allowance from his employer in November 2024 and 700,000 Naira as a 13th-month allowance in December 2024, in addition to his regular monthly salary of 800,000 Naira, the total of 1.2 million Naira received as allowances over a two month period should be explicitly explained in the cover letter and reported as additional income in the applicant's online UK visa application. Additionally, there are cases where applicants receive transaction reversals, which appear as credits due to previously failed transactions for which they were mistakenly debited. In these cases, it is important to clearly explain the reversals in the cover letter to prevent the visa officer from mistakenly considering them as suspicious or unknown income sources. Although I understand that providing these explanations can be tedious, I believe it is the best way to minimize the risk of visa denial. I hope this is clear.

Sorry about your refusal.

Two issues were cited

1. The inconsistency in deposits. You need to fix this by ensuring that only salaries get paid into salary account, which you intend to drop.
In my case I calime I get paid certain amount and in the 5 months statement I presented, it clearly stayed that sum exactly without reduction or increment. If you salary is N1.1m, make sure only that N1.1m enters that account for about 5 months and clearly marked as Salary

2. Reduce your budget. Cheapest ticket now is around N1.1m to N1.3m ($700)
You can see $70 a night hotel and spend about $700 in 10 days and another $500 on feeding
$300 on entertainment
Total $2,200 which is less than 2000 pounds

Hello Giselle,
What about my cousin who didn’t have a single travel history nor had parents or siblings… not even an asset.
They gave him the visa… isn’t it funny, I just think it depends solely on the officer reviewing your application, some are more experienced or detailed that some..
Imagine an officer pointing out bank salary narration…
I feel I had more ties than my cousin but he got his, so I just think it mainly seats with the officer…
They gave someone visa with 4M naira in his account.
I can only say it’s God because the red flags were so much that even him couldn’t believe.
You are right my dear. ECOs use their discretion most of the time.

However, having followed this thread for more than 2 years, my advice to applicants is that once you are a first time applicant and young (perhaps 50 and below), you MUST block all loopholes. Make your application water tight, bcs the first impression of the ECO is that you won't return.

Anyone who reads this thread extensively and digest people's denial letters stand a chance of getting visa approval.

Exactly and you really can't blame them because there are Nigerians who have consistently abused the privilege of being granted visas by either overstaying or using their visas to immigrate illegally, making it harder for genuine visitors to be granted visas. In this context, would you consider an applicant who has been previously issued UK study visas in 2016 and 2017 as a first-time applicant?

This is really strange and dont want to attribute this to VFS, as obviously this is UKVI themselves.

December is when I think they should be overwhelmed, but surprising this is happening in January.

Certainly not. I would nit.

Anyone that can help respond to this,
please

@ giselle237

Please, I need clarification on the following:

1. I have been invited to the UK by a cousin (citizen). What are the documents he needs to provide (he is providing accommodation and feeding)

2. I will be traveling with my wife. How much is ideal as budget?

3. The invitation letter, who will address it to? The embassy or me.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Yoyoky: 5:27pm On Jan 14, 2025
Good evening please.
I am applying for UK visit visa for myself and 2 kids, please, will I still fill application form for each of them or will I just indicate that I am travelling with them?
Please your answer will be very helpful to us.

I have a previous UK refusal, maybe that's the reason for the delay. I'm assuming they need more time for extensive checks.

Same here. I initially applied with my wife and daughter, but we got rejected. Now I’m reapplying alone, but there’s been a delay in the process.

Please don’t forget to inform us when you get the congratulatory message. I pray I receive mine soon too.

Evidence of Support: Include bank statements of this cousin to demonstrate their ability to provide for your family. Visa officers may deny applications based on financial capability, especially since you mentioned supporting you and your wife—essentially, two additional dependents to himself.
Evidence of his/her legal stay.
Proof of Accommodation: Provide mortgage letters, utility bills, and/ or tenancy agreements to show suitable housing arrangements.
Budget Preparation: Create a detailed budget for your stay, as suggested on this thread. With accommodation and food accounted for, focus on estimating costs for flights and miscellaneous expenses for two people.
Communication: Prepare two letters—one to UKVI and another to yourself and your wife. Each letter should clearly outline the assistance being offered, including specific details about the duration and nature of support and every relevant information.

Different visa type, the previous refusal was a visit visa while the current application is a student visa.
Besides, the previous visa was refused based on a mistake I made in my application

Unless they are citizens of a country that can enter the UK visa-free, your children will require separate applications.

Student visa is points based, that’s fine.
Stay on the student thread as you will get better updates on there.

The bank can actually do this, by telling the teller to add that narration. We do that for tax and the reason for payment is always specified
It's obvious the bank wasn't consistent with narrations over the month. Pls what dyu advise before I reapply?

Why is an employee taking payment schedule to the bank? An organisation paying 1.1m can not do its employee payments or deal with the bank? Sorry I am just confused and trying to mitigate this whole scenario because the visa officer was also confused.

Then Ghana is not travel history guys. Please . For the 100th time it is not travel history for the UK.
Why dyu talk as if it's impossible? I mean I've seen many organisations do it?

Thank you so much my brother.
I didn't know I could use a statement less than 6 months?
Means I can use a statement of four months?
Also, the bamk was unable to process our salaries for December 29th 2024, eventually it was done 2nd of January, I hope thus won't be an issue again?

Reapply and address everything stated already.

As I said, only two issues.

Fix certain amount immediately for a period that will coincide with the travel date.

Let's assume you want to reapply in June, 2025 and travel in July, 2025 for summer, fix about ₦5m or more for 7 months, with maturity date being July 2025

Then keep your salary account clean that from January Salary, deposit in the account from company must read Salary and nothing more, then use another account for personal runs.

Do a cover letter to address the refusal and reference it and state in the letter that the amount you fixed is what you're using to fund the trip, as you've fixed it ahead of travel time. However, let the balance in the account after six months still be able to cover about ₦4m need for the trip. Naira salary account should have about ₦7million

Fix deposit certificate to be used as well

Good luck

Just clean the account

Try view my post around November 28 or 29, 2024 on what I used.

I used 5 months Statement.

It was super clean

Only month deposit is Salary with description Salary

Expenses was even 40% of salary, yet it was not an issue, may be cos of my travel history, cos I'm the last 10 years, I've visited 10 different countries.

I'm travelling again in April just for about 3 days. To enter on Thursday, spend Good Friday and Easter Monday, then return on Tuesday Morning after Easter. Just deliberately to ensure I use the visa twice, si I can apply for 2 or 5 years.

Visa processes now getting tighter especially for Nigerians

I can’t wrap my head around a standard organisation or establishment needing the employee to visit the bank to give them information before receiving salary. Salary of 1.1m for that matter. I am confused that’s why I asked.
Secondly they do not like desperation, if your requests to visit their country has been denied now 2 times or more and you do say you have the financial wherewithal, why not try other countries for your holiday?
Makes more sense that way than back to back applications at risk of another refusal with no travel history.

The only thing we give the babk is a payment schedule for the month's salary. No additional or special info.
Now, the bank's staff may either put "netpay" or "salary from ABC LTD". dyu understand now?
Plus it's my first time applying.

I put it to you again that I've seen many organisations take their salary payment schedule to the banks. Not all organisations do corporate ibank on theirs.
This shouldn't be your argument cos it's not strange or impossible in nigeria.
The issue is the bank staff not being uniform with their description.
