Hello All,

Please, I am new here but need guidance from those who have experienced the issue of date of birth printed on transcript which is different from passport. I have not registered with WES yet but I need help of how I can align the DOB with my all my documents. Has anybody have his university (mine is UNN) changed this before? What is the way to go about it. Please help guide me. Thanks

Please, how did you solve this? I am in the same calamity

After going through your GCMS note, it is clear that the funds are for demonstration purposes. For a 41-year-old to be sponsored by his brother-in-law, it does not suit you not to talk of VO. Let the brother-in-law send the funds to the PA account and do a notarized gift deed clearly stating that the funds are an unconditional gift, provided solely for the PA's education and related expenses; provide documents that demonstrate the brother-in-law's financial capacity and the source of the lump sum. letter of explanation (LOE) from the brother-in-law addressing why he is supporting the PA.
I appreciate your response.
The money is already on his account for a long time now.

So I suppose he should ask the in law to get a notarized gift deed and also provide documentation showing employment details and financial capacity?

Thank you very much.

Jeboy:
A lot of people got admission through this format in time past only for them to get stranded in Canada and unable to fund their study.

We re the ones who awakened ircc consciousness to these things.

So sorry, you just have to get more documentation and possibly spend out of the money available for your study to proof the VO decision wrong.
Thank you for your concern.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Collins4u1(m): 9:23pm On Jan 18, 2025
zubizareta:
The possible chance you have is to demonstrate that lump sum is available by spending it and paying the tuition balance from it. And you would still have to explain the source of the funds with proper supporting docs.
Thank you, it's just spending the money that would be the challenge.

Exactly the concern of the VO and that's exactly what they are trying to weed out from the system. People declaring money no available for spending then they get to Canada with hope of working and paying tuition and when that doesn't happen, they drop out of school.

Please you still need to do more research o, do not waste time and money writing GMAT, look for schools that offer admission without GMAT, moreover, you are not getting study permit without getting admission so what you wrote up here is confusing

Hello everyone,

I currently hold a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and plan to apply for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) under the Student Stream. I have a PhD from Nigeria, which I did not declare when I applied for my study visa/permit a few years ago. This was due to the unavailability of the certificate and WES verification at that time.

My question is whether it is advisable to now declare my PhD in the OINP application, as it would earn me an additional 2 points. The PhD certificate predates both the date of my initial study visa application and my extension.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or input on this matter.

Thank you.

Yes you can add it. But be ready to explain if the VO notices it. Just gather your evidence of the certificate not being available when you applied for your study permit

I am not sure it will work, cos most banks rarely push FORM A requests now, and usually GIC accounts are meant to receive USD or equivalent in Naira.
