1st paragraph response: no I’m not his supporter. He was careless and arrogant. I do believe in an Igbo nation but not like this. The people spearheading the movement have turned it into a joke and something of a criminal, expansionist agenda.

Second paragraph response: from what we know, Kanu’s only offense was stoking hatred and bigotry into Nigeria’s fragile unity, further precluding any attempts to make peace for productive alliance. He exacerbated the tension between the Igbos and other Nigerian ethnicities which is a very illiterate attempt at seeking autonomy. He never sponsored terrorists (at least none that we know of), He never called for violence (although he threatened the Nigerian government a couple times but never delivered on his threats). This guy as far as I know is a person who is concerned about the marginalization and discrimination of his people, my people. And even though his methods were wrong, he was right in agitating.
There’s a lot of things to agitate about in Nigeria, I’m often bemused by the calmness and complacency of some people like you. There are Yoruba agitators too you know, wonder why you don’t notice them and call for their arrest.
Agitation is ok, terrorism isn’t. Which is why I applaud the Finland authorities for the arrest of the thoughtless, insane thug; Simon Epka.

Nigeria has put it upon itself to marginalize the Igbos economically, politically and even in infrastructural development. It’s only reasonable that the Igbos are allowed to leave, should they choose to, and form their own sovereign nation where they would be responsible for its nascent growth or eventual collapse. Where they would be respected as 1st class citizens and not regarded as political slaves.

Before you claim that “there’s no marginalization” I’d like you to make your research. People can’t be agitating for nothing. It doesn’t make sense.

A clear example is the gas pipeline network system. Despite the role that south eastern states like Abia, IMO, Anambra play in Nigeria’s gas industry, word being that the SE accounts for around 60% to 80% of natural gas reserves in Nigeria, the FG’s blueprint for the CNG project has excluded SE states from the gas pipeline systems. Channeling gas from southeast states to another region (eg. gas from Abia would be transported from the state to another region entirely. The funny thing is that the original planners had already proposed their own blueprint that passes from the SE to its neighbors, but the FG rejected it and made its own blueprint. This is a clear example of the deliberate disregard and marginalization that the Nigerian government is trying to exploit with the Igbos. That gas pipeline would help provide jobs and infrastructural development in SE. but Nigeria as always, has denied them that benefit as well, even with their own resources.
