Okc absolutely destroying the Cavs.

Be like without Celtics, the East is toast.
Shai dropping a master class in that win vs the Cavs while the Celtics are looking mid without those 3’s calling

Guess which one someone argued was killing the NBA

@A40, did you watch J. Daniels tonight? This kid is special.

Mahomes is losing respect across the league for some of his antics. The league has to start punishing QBs who pretend to be running out of bounds only to stop because they are looking for contact from the defense. He needs to do better!

Reread what I wrote baba. Almost everything you just listed is exactly what I was talking about. In the middle of triple or quadruple revenue, the core fan base is not able to watch as many games, and they are complaining about 3pt spamming, etc.

As I said earlier, the commissioner is marketing the NBA as a safe product for corporations with deep money. But the grassroots appeal has taken a hit. Oga commissioner even tried to take off the iconic NBA on TNT, in other words, dollars over culture. These things you listed, 90% of them are not bold moves, just revenue making opportunities. Who cares about in season tournament? If they stopped doing play-ins today, nobody will cry.

They cant even market the new superstars properly, because they have to consider if it is safe for corporate eyes. You chase money long enough, you get a watered down product, and then the money eventually dries up.
Statitistics show the in-season tournament and play-in has drawn more viewership, so I say it's a bold move.

Who would want to put his money into something that isn't fruitful? It all start with viewership. If no one is watching, big businesses wouldn't put their money into it. The eyes bring the money. I can guarantee you there are more illegal streamers of the NBA in China than there are legal watchers in America. You yourself, how many times have you watched the NBA legally this season? Do you have league pass? Even if you do, how many people do? Me I don't have. Bro, the NBA themselves know illegal streaming is good for their business in terms of popularity, maybe not in terms of finance. The NFL, with all their ratings, is not as global as the NBA. And the reason is simple...American football is a very boring sport. Only Americans enjoy the NFL. It's harder to get an illegal stream for an NFL game than it is for an NBA game.

You have to understand that marketing the NBA doesn't end on the court. It's in the lifestyle too. The paparazzi. The merchandise. NBA players are the most popular athletes out of America. They have the loudest voice and largest following. All these things are why companies are putting their money into the game

I've never seen a rookie play with that kind of poise. 4th down he's going for it with no hesitation

He is looking generational already and I don't use that word lightly

On the other side Jared Goff. Lol. That's the beauty of playoffs. Garri must always find it's level. All the warning signs were there. He had a 5 pick game and they won so they thought it was all uhuru

The Adam Silverization of the NFL.

What's a defender supposed to do. You can't rush the passer. The passer can leave the pocket and pick up yards, act like they're sliding or slide at the very last minute while the defender coming at hundred miles per hour is expected to just stop on a dime

It's really annoying

What the NBA has going for it is the fact that it's live content almost all year around. That's why networks like ESPN will beg, borrow and steal to pay for rights because without NBA they have nothing that can sustain their chochocho all year round.

NFL is mostly September to February. That's not enough to keep the lights on

The NBA is the only year round live sports content these networks have and that's why Adam Silver has them by the balls

The NFL has historically been the known to expose average QBs hiding beneath good winning records. Another was Sam Donald; albeit, to a lesser extent.

Daniels has that poise and reads the game exceptionally well. He is definitely one to keep an eye on if he stays healthy for the bulk of his career.

Roger has to start punishing teams with 15 yards penalties whenever their QBs fake an out of bounds run. Also, the QB hit the Texans suffered yesterday was an egregious call, today the least because Mahomes barely got it. If anything 2 Houston players had a helmet to helmet.

I really hope Roger doesn’t allow this to continue. He is taking everything away from the defense and at some point it would water down the league and become a turnoff.

Their pay scale is so bizarre. I look at the Lions team and Jared Goff is making like 5-10x what Jahmyr Gibbs is making.

You can be an elite RB like Derrick, Saquon Gibbs and mid QBs like Trevor Lawrence, Herbert, Tua Turndaballova and Jared Goff will be making 5x your salary. That makes absolutely zero sense

It helps that he's already 24 going on 25. That's a mature age for a QB. Same age as Nix. Playing 4-5 years college ball used to be a slur almost not Daniels and Nix are showing that perhaps drafting the slightly older QB with lots of starts and experience might be the way. Especially with how disastrous the likes of Trey Lance and Anthony Richardson have looked

I don't even care if there are penalties what I want is that when you leave the pocket you're responsible for yourself.

The onus should not be on the defender to protect you. That's BS

The calls in favor of Mahomes were a crying disgrace

This has nothing to do with the commissioner. The players, by branching into social media are keeping NBA alive in popular culture. It wasnt the commisioners idea.

As for the money you are talking about, that is easy to explain. One local fortune 100 company can buy season tickets to cover price of every other seat in the arena. So you have the revenue, yeah, but lost viewership. The corporate execs dont even like the game like that, they use the tickets to woo investors and keep up company morale when needed. Those seats will be empty sometimes sef.

I will say again, nobody cares about midseason tournament or whatever. Who won last year? If not that you are a laker fan, you will struggle to remember. At best, Silver is a game manager, nothing visionary about him.

That was an epic game. Lamar vs Josh Allen. Mark Andrews might have to enter witness protection. Lamar has a cult followership. They will make his life hell conveniently forgetting Lamar had two turnovers himself

They most definitely missed Z. Flowers but those TO were costly. They have always looked overwhelmed in these post season situations. I remember Lamar saying he would approach it differently this time but it didn’t seem like that.

Big credit to that Bills defense, they blitz Lamar, showed him big bodies but most importantly, they kept him inside the pocket.

Lamar again coming up short when it matters. He made a valiant effort in the end but the first half was where the game was lost.

That fumble was a 10pg swing at minimum.

Lamar stans are erroneously all over social media blaming Mark Andrews like Josh Allen didn't have 2 timeouts and a minute and a half to move the ball into at least field goal range

Josh Allen has his defense to thank. He's the MVP in my opinion but his defense helped him bigly.

I will be the one. All stars for the East is on point. The West is Shyte. Curry, KD & Bron have got no reason to be first team. AD should have been. Not Bron. Doncic too instead of Curry.

By the way, Shai has got a big obstacle on his road to being MVP.

Lol. But you really can't blame the OGs for dropping all-star performances. My only issue here is Steph. Steph has largely been shite this season. And his team has been shite as well. I guess we can just agree it's a legacy all-star selection. Superstars are usually afforded one or two selections after their decline.

Pump which brakes?
The team is even getting better.
D. Melton is clearly a better shooting guard than podz, and I like the adjustments....
This is a good team, top 5 offence and top 5 defence. Clearly better than last year...
When I told you to pump the brakes you were making noise. My Warriors wey i know. The front office is only concerned with making money and Curry is Curry; meek and quiet. We'd be lucky to make the play-in at this point. grin
