I think it's more complicated and I think you can learn from my mistake. I had more than this amount when Naira was more valuable and it was refused.

Factor to look at:

1) Have you used the same account to do PoF before? If yes, the VO will consider the amount remaining to be spent for the student already in Canada and deduct it from this amount 1st to know how much is available for the couple that is joining the principal applicant that is a student. You are only free from this if you used a different account for the principal applicant (student) when they are applying.

2) How long is the principal applicant visa. In my own case, we just got an approval extension from a year to 2 yrs course so the financial requirement for PoF technically also should rise.

Pls consider these two factors when putting up PoF for SOWP else those guys will be waiting to screw you up.

So the more fund you can show from both sides that takes care of both bills, the better.

Yes, I have other documents to show home ties, land pension and the likes. I am also trying not to have a lump sum, that is why I would prefer to stick with what I have.

I just want to know if there is a required amount one should have in CAD.

This our country sha, as at Dec 2023, N10m was equivalent to 30,000 CAD!

Hello everyone, I am a student in Canada. please is there exception for study permit application fee or biometrics for a minor of 4years, I will be submitting her application along with my husband's SWOP. I have IRCC account can I create a GCKEY account with my information and use the same account to apply for my family. I will also be submitting the application on their behalf from inside Canada, is that a good idea or I should allow my husband do that from outside. Lastly please, will need to fill a representative form for my child or my husband should do that?

How are you all doing today? please I need some advise on my Canada visa situation. I have been refuse a visa into Canada twice before, the last being January 2025. Currently my wife is granted a Study permit and currently doing her MBA in Canada, she travelled January 2025. Now the agent that h3lp me to submit her visa advised that I shouldn't put my application yet and that I submit my children application first. Then I can submit my own afterward(once my children visa is granted) which is a wonderful plan, however he submit a visitor visa application for them.
Whilst everybody is telling that the visitor visa, she submitted for children was wrong and he should submitted a study permit for them because it could take up to six months to get response from IRCC. hence I can't wait that long! because every month I wait bill is racking up on my neck in canada and nigeria. This has mental affected my wife and myself.
Also I was told that travelling agent misinformed us and that I should have submitted all the application together with my children because there is no waiting time to reapply after a refusal. I can show a substantial amount as a POF in my account.
Please I need an advise what should I do? because am thinking to withdrawing the visitor application for my children and resubmitting everything all at once.

Hello Ianian, please did you had to submit your spouse Statement of account, together with your Statement of account when you applied? Because I just got rejected with the following reason; “My spouse did not provide sufficient fund that will support my stay in Canada, and I have not submitted sufficient fund that will support my stay”. When he applied his statement had his school fees plus 20k CAD. I applied using only my statement and I had above 15k CAD going by the rate at that time.
Please what were the documents you submitted?

I also specified that I will be financially independent and not put a financial burden on my spouse.

I didn't add my spouse account as I didn't want to complicate my application. So I put my application in a way it depicts that my spouse will be independent
of me and my POF will be ok for me ONLY.

So, I hope you didn't write that you will support your spouse financially because 15k is ok if You ask me

Hi everyone, please I just submitted my family visa application. While filling the form I did not see the column for family information form like I saw in a YouTube video. I heard the family information form is compulsory but I didn't see it among all required IMM documents displayed that I am to fill and upload. I submitted my application without it because there was no designated section to upload it in my application. Please, is this a problem for my family visa application? What can I do about it. It seems spouse of principal applicants CAN NO LONGER apply together online along their spouse (principal applicants) for SOWP and PGWP respectively.

Who can confirm what I am seeing in the updated SOWP (Work Permit) updated policy by the IRCC.

I guess the main reason is to differentiate in-country (soft touch) and out-country (wahala) applications...lols

Sorry for the refusal.

The VO refused the application because they think the job your spouse is doing presently is too low, in the TEER ranking. The section of the regulation quoted give them broad powers to do this

Canadian interests

205 A work permit may be issued under section 200 to a foreign national who intends to perform work that

(a) would create or maintain significant social, cultural or economic benefits or opportunities for Canadian citizens or permanent residents;

(b) would create or maintain reciprocal employment of Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada in other countries;

(c) is designated by the Minister as being work that can be performed by a foreign national on the basis of the following criteria, namely,

(i) the work is related to a research program,

(i.1) the work is an essential part of a post-secondary academic, vocational or professional training program offered by a designated learning institution as defined in section 211.1,

(i.2) the work is an essential part of a program at the secondary level

(A) that is a vocational training program offered by a designated learning institution in Quebec, or

(B) that is a program offered by a designated learning institution that requires students to work in order to obtain their secondary or high school diploma or certificate of graduation, or

(ii) limited access to the Canadian labour market is necessary for reasons of public policy relating to the competitiveness of Canada’s academic institutions or economy; [i][/i]or

(d) is of a religious or charitable nature.

You can get more docs and send a reconsideration or/and reapply, is the work your spouse does a part time work?
