The forex market has been stable lately. Which is good. Effort now should be to bring down the rates through increased local productivity
If naira appreciates against the dollar, then the money supply should be reduced by reducing the minimum wage which the major factor devaluing the naira.

lol...when they run out of ideas, they repeat their lies and propaganda

This was claimed as one of Tinubu's achievements in 2023

It was claimed as the outcome of the ill-fated reforms in 2024

Now in 2025, they are stating it again as an early achievement

Cool. Hope that helps the economy. If it doesn't, this news is useless
Yes, it does.

Once backlogs are verified as valid by CBN, the subject FX funds will be duly paid to the affected banks or organisations.

Such action will boost investors confidence in the economy. Naira should also begin to gain value in the market.

There will be more liquidity for banks and affected businesses to run their transactions. Leading to higher GDP.

You're wrong. They've not finished paying all the backlogs. They just paid another $7bn now. There's still more left.

Lol.. .you dont know what you are writing.

At the advent of the administration around June 2023, they mentioned there was an outstanding $7.5b of foreingn remittances that CBN could not provide liquidity for and that such was one of the reasons for the weak Naira.

Sometime in early 2024, Cardoso cane out ans mentioned that glthey had settled all that they felt were genuine and anyone left was either ingenuine or a source of a shady deal. I recall his press conference in Feb/Mar 2024.

So which is it that they had not finished paying and they are still paying again?

So the new bullsheet is that the FG in fact had 14 Billion dollars and not the original $7 billion in backlogs announced by the companies at the time, to clear? Ole ni gbogbo yin! undecided
Re: CBN Clears Outstanding $7 Billion FOREX Backlog by Omosofe69: 9:14pm On Jan 30, 2025
A reputable organisation was employed to verify the claims of backlogs by the multinational companies.

The few conglomerates that backed up their claims with verifiable receipts were paid the initial 7billion.

Now, a few others have been able to gather enough evidence to be paid. That explains the second 7billions.

There are still few left.

If other governments before Tinubu had been doing this the refund would not have been this humongous.

Why paying?

When the airlines couldn't repatriate their money they placed Nigerians on the highest paying scales. I was to travel to Dublin and the flight ticket then was way beyond 3million naira. One way for crying aloud.

I immediately travelled to Cotonou where I paid only 800000, eight hundred thousand naira for the same Dublin trip.
After the Airways were paid their trapped money they moved Nigerians to the right paying scales like other nations.

Those who stopped plying our routes are now back.
Confidence in Nigeria has soared to the highest heaven.

More FDIs are coming.

This is how to build a responsible nation.
