GloriousGbola:Okay, let me try to explain from the one I've witnessed The checkpoint at Mgbidi axis, entering Imo state, you'll have to alight at a distance, then trek like 3 electricity poles before you'll get to where you'll wait to re-embark and continue your journey At a point, you had to raise your hands while walking... Although the last time I passed there, they had stopped the raising of hands Maybe as you've brought this point, people will start posting the videos they have with locations in the SE |

Yampotatocarrot:A lot of people have spy cameras they use to catch police in the act. And police are too greedy too casual and too drunk on their own power to have sustained paranoia about getting caught. |

Yesterday coming from Onitsha to Owerri before that Egbada Estate junction imagine almost four check/tax point. And the worst of it is they are very close to each other, you can stand in one and throw a stone and it will even pass the second check point and all of them you must stop to settle them.. what a shame |

They probably got these figures from the receipts issued at those checkpoints. There's a reason they are called cheque's points, though. |

membranus:To you, all military personnel are stationed on the road, you forget Nigeria has numerous military infrastructure that the military overseas and manage. Besides no military personnel will dare collect money from drivers, even the police don't just collect money from drivers, they either beg or bill you when you have committed an offence. 90% of what people get away with here will get your vehicle impounded for weeks with you facing the court, but if you try that here it's the same drivers that will say police is heartless, imagine leaving Lagos without proper vehicle papers and you are angry they stopped you. Many drivers get stop and they have to let them go, most drivers don't want to be stopped and searched, SO THEY PREFER TO JUST GIVE THE POLICE MONEY AND SKIP THE SEARCH. Nigeria is a corrupt country, everyone wants to cut corners, Nigerians love the idea, stop acting like the police were imported, they are youth and fathers, mothers in Nigeria. |
