I'm under band A at gberigbe ikorodu

Just 3hrs light per day
Aneemal, what I can take out from your post is, you have never paid a bill in your entire miserable existence. There’s no where in Lagos state that 1k on Band A will give you more that 4 units, if there’s an extra on it, might be 0.4, leaving you at 4.4 units for 1k, multiply that by 5 to get how many units you’d get for 5k. Mumu lie lie. Na una type Dey support this neenkompoop of a president. To gee you detty slap just Dey hungry me, oloshi!

You dont know the kind of wicked people that are in charge of Nigeria today , they are principalities out to waste your effort and resources as instructed by the blood altars they use to manipulate their way to power
This is the depth truth .. of happenings in Nigeria....

Strange gods are manipulating our leaders in higher authority.. to cause pain and hardship on the people they are privileged to serve...

And despite that the eyes of the people are opened knowledge wise... We continue to make mistakes, elected task-masters...

May God Almighty deliver Nigerians from this evil underworld men.

Amen

Solar is not an option because the cost of setting up solar to run a 30 room hotel will be crazy, not to talk of changing all the ACs to inverter units.
This people are killing the economy gradually.
The painful thing is that there is a syndicate now that specialize in stealing Solar equipments.

Check your Meter is there a dept on it? If yes AEDC is currently doing 50% vending on all meters with dept. So when you recharge 5k. 2.5k will be use to pay for your outstanding while you'll be given unit worth the other 2.5k

Ok.. I just observed a drastic reduction in the Units given when I purchased electricity from AEDC. (See screenshots - the first shot was the unit given in Dec for same amount 73.4kwh, but now drastically reduced to 36.7kwh (100% reduction)

Did anyone observe this..

I thought maybe they changed my Band, so I went to their website to check the meter status. But it was the same Band B.

Just for context, the 5k loaded above would last for one week previously but now it would last for 3 days because of the 100% increment in cost. In a flat with few modest electronics, no ACs running. What that mean is that we would pay close to 50k before the end of the month. Previously 20-25k.

The thing is the surreptitious way they executed this.. no noise made, no announcements, just booooom, like a thief in the night.

With everything Nigerians are currently going through, this is heartless and insensitive on the part of everyone involved in this backdoor Tariff increment.. from the DISCos to the Regulators to those making this draconian policies, that seek to sniff life out of average Nigerians.
I doubt if a level 14's official salary can afford electricity in Nigeria, see how expensive it is. Compare that to what I paid last month is Sweden, pay attention to the energy consumed.

Good afternoon, my daddies, mothers, brothers, and sisters on Nairaland Forum.

Please, I need your help.

I'm using this medium to appeal to everyone that comes across this post to consider me, please. I'm not going to lie so I can be pitied, so I'll just be completely honest.

I'm here to beg so I can get something to eat. Any good person should help me with anything he or she can; I'll appreciate any amount, please.

I'm begging everyone in the name of God Almighty. I've exhausted every option I have, and that's why I'm here now. I have not eaten anything since yesterday morning. This is due to the fact that I was evicted from where I was squatting. I have been running helter-skelter looking for where I can get a temporary place to stay.

Please, I am totally broke. I don't have any money; I will appreciate it if anyone can help me with any amount just for me to get something to eat today. Please don't let me die of this hunger! I swear to God Almighty, I've never done this before, and this is the last thing I want to do, but I have no other option now.

Please have mercy on me and help me.

My bank details are:

Bank: PALMPAY
Account Number: 906 137 3493
Account Name: Zainab Opeyemi Saliu

The same happened to me. Maybe they are afraid that people will reject or protest the increase that's why they did it quietly.

Re: Did Discos Quietly Increase Tariffs?! (Screenshots) by Berankis: 7:27pm On Feb 02, 2025
It is really heartless. One of the major regrets I have. Heavy billings just keep coming down on helpless Nigerians.
Telecoms increase by 50%
Electricity tarrif by 100%
Fuel at over N1,000/per litre
All sorts of VATs on products and also services. Even transfers above 10,000 from fintechs will be taxed N50
Cooking gas at N1200/kg
Sachet water now N50
Pepsi/Coke/Fanta now N500
And so on....
How are Nigerians surviving?
The last the President said. "We can't afford to spend unborn children's money". And who has been spending unborn children's money?
This is coming from a President who said Nigerians hate compliance but refused to comply with declaring his assets before/after resumption of office.
