Hi everyone, so I noticed a typo in my cover letter after my biometrics appointment, but not sure if it's minor or serious enough to negatively impact my chances of being granted this visa.

Here's the typo:

"Total Expenses (From December 1st to December 31st) = 934,870.75 Naira

Disposable Income = 2,038,233.50 Naira - 936,870.75 Naira* = 1,103,362.75 Naira"

So basically the asterisked 936,870.75 Naira should have been 934,870.75 Naira instead to accurately reflect expenses.

Please how can VFS be contacted after biometrics before my application is forwarded to UKVI for assessment?
Really? After you used months to craft your cover letter you still made a mistake!! Ah.
I pray they don’t hold on to it.
All the best.

And are you sure about this?
Because I know very well that, Canadian visa holders ain't eligible for Saudi Visa on arrival, only UK, USA and Schengen!
100%. I did this in March 2024

Modified.

Addendum: To be clear, I had an UNUSED Schengen and an EXPIRED UK visa at the time.

Same here, I did biometric on the 9th of January, empty NSF mail 27th January
Nothing till now

Please the gurus on this platform,
How long do I need to wait again after the normal wait time (3 weeks) for visitor visa expired, this is fourth week now, please any idea
Which one is NSF?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Fatliga2025: 7:12pm On Feb 03, 2025
An NSF (Non-Straight Forward) is an automated email you get from the UKVI requesting further verification. If your application raises questions or doesn't fully meet the requirements, you will receive an NSF email notifying or requesting additional documents from you.

i did my biometrics for a dependent visa on 26th of january, i got an email from vfs that it was sent to ukvi on 27th january. I haven’t gotten any email from UKVI to confirm receipt.

1. Is that normal?
2. How long does a dependent visa application take to be approved
3. Has anyone who did their biometrics in Ikeja VFS gotten any response from UKVI

They have already told you days ago that your application raises some complexity hence why you received an NSF and they need time. No one can have an idea when they would be done .

Thank you! Mistakes are bound to happen, no matter how careful one might be. Hoping and praying for a positive outcome regardless. Do you think I should contact UKVI via a paid email to address and correct the minor typo or not really necessary at this point?

Well I personally think that mistake is minimal and should not carry water when a decision is been made, I’m very certain they might not even notice it, you should know paid mail don’t work that way, you can’t address application when you already submitted.
You should not worry about it at all, keep a positive mind.

I really hope they don't notice or make it a big deal (if noticed). I'll indeed keep a positive mind and pray about it. *Fingers crossed*
Thank you.

Hi all,

I am new here. Please, I want to apply for a visit visa to attend a meeting in the UK on March 26. I have never applied for a UK visa before. Please can you giude me as to how to apply for the visa?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by b31164707: 4:31pm On Feb 05, 2025
Good afternoon.

Is this going to be an employer-sponsored trip? Why are you attending the meeting? There has to be a clear purpose for attending the meeting, which should be demonstrated by your employer, then attach the following supporting documentation:

Bank statements (at least 3 months)
Pay slips (at least 3 months)
Letter of introduction from your employer/Employment contract
Proof of ties to Nigeria, such as a letter from a family member in Nigeria, or documents showing property ownership/assets (if you own property/land), or/and a letter from your church, etc.
Birth certificate
Invitation letter from the organization/agency hosting the meeting

These are the most important documents you should start collating.

Thank you for your response.

The meeting is for 3 days and fully sponsored by a UK government agency.

Can you share the links to the visa application pages? Also, can the visa be approved within 15 days?

Thank you for your help.

Hello everyone,

Please how long does it take to get a refund for an application that was cancelled after the form was filled.

I saw 28 days but I cancelled it on the 2nd of January. I am yet to get a refund.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by b31164707: 9:27pm On Feb 05, 2025
Try this link: https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/applicationInProgressWarning/visit-visa-ooc-standard

Please ensure you get an invitation letter from the UK government agency (your sponsor) clearly articulating why you'll be visiting the UK and the purpose of the meeting.

Regarding your last question, I’m not a visa officer, so I can’t say for certain whether the visa will be approved within 15 days. Honestly, it depends on the specific application. Some applications are more complex or may require additional background checks, which could extend the processing time beyond 15 days. However, in most cases, decisions are typically made within a 15-day period.

Hi Everyone

Please I need HELPPP!!!
My husband and I has been issued a UK 6 months visa and we intend to travel next week with our 1 year daughter for one month holiday.

Our 1 year old daughter holds a Canadian passport (visa free to UK) so she didn’t apply for visa with us. I am wondering if there is any document or any application that will be required of her. I am asking because I don’t want a situation that will lead to her being refused boarding at the airport.

Thanks for your suggestions
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by MsAnonymous: 11:01am On Feb 06, 2025
She needs an ETA. It’s a document you can apply for easily for citizens of all ages from some select countries like US and Canada. It cost GBP 10 , and approved within 72hrs. The document is valid for 2 yrs.
Think of it as the way you apply for evisa. Everything is done through your phone
This new law came to effect in Jan 2025

Gifted in what way?
Is it a confirmed ticket? Is it in her name?
Is it a fully usable ticket, like if she were asked to go back to Nigeria tomorrow- can that ticket be utilised that tomorrow? Ask yourself some serious questions.

good day everyone, please I wanted to find out if paying low taxes would affect me in Uk visa applications
I’m self employed, I own a gadget store and I pay myself 2m monthly for a year now, when inquired about how much my tax should be @davodyguy said it’ll be nothing less than 1m (but honestly i don’t want spend that much paying tax)
Will paying an amount like 300k work without issues?

Dont quote me out of context or make up what I did not say

N2million gross per month is N24million per year.

30% of that money should go for tax

Summary
If you make ₦24,000,000 a year living in Nigeria, you will be taxed ₦7,467,200. That means that your net pay will be ₦16,532,800 per year, or ₦1,377,733 per month. Your average tax rate is 31.1% and your marginal tax rate is 32.0%. This marginal tax rate means that your immediate additional income will be taxed at this rate. For instance, an increase of ₦100 in your salary will be taxed ₦31.98, hence, your net pay will only increase by ₦68.02.

choice is yours.

Your Passport is ready for collection.
I had the same experience I did my biometric on 3rd January didn't receive any response from UKVI. When tracked it was ready for collection so I went and pick up my passport with approved visa on 3rd February

Ukvi will not deny you and state the reason is because you are paying insufficient ties to Inland Revenue of Nigeria, that’s not their business. Try and work on your ties to Nigeria and close ALL possible loopholes for a denial.

I’d do that, I don’t know if you’d remember but I’ve actually applied before, gotten a date, travelled for submission and canceled a day before submission. I posted it all here on January 2024, lol.
I’m not in a haste. I decided to work on myself after that visited 6 countries so far, visiting china next month for business too.
Just want this uk visa as it’ll enable me to even be eligible for some countries e-visa that require at least a valid Uk visa
