Cyberknight:LOL, that might be a tad bit difficult seeing as London's recently knighted Mayor is one of the brown people 😂 They'd also need to go back further than 1960 to achieve white homogeneity as the Windrush had already started arriving by then. But you're right: - Labour's Comms strategy is woefully inadequate. Also seen in the way they failed to control the narrative on the pensioners winter fuel allowance and allowed the policy change to be widely misrepresented in the media. - The pressure on immigration is also coming from within the Labour party, mainly red wall MPs where Reform came second in the GE. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0lze0lnd25o.amp |

Kemi Badenough is incompetent and all of this is to distract from that. She is failing spectacularly in her new role and is reverting to what she knows best - rage bait. I remember asking here for anyone to name her accomplishments in public service other than attaining the positions...still crickets. Nothing she did in any of her previous portfolios stuck. Only thing she's known for is what she says in those roles - never anything she did. |

| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Zahra29: 11:51am On Feb 06, 2025 |
ehizario2012:You do realise that Kemi is the face of the policy as leader of the party, however the immigration brief belongs to Chris Philp, the shadow Home Secretary, who has always been "right wing" on immigration and other issues. https://www.croydonconservatives.com/news/chris-philp-mp-immigration-has-been-far-too-high-time-new-approach Same way Rishi Sunak was the face of the immigration changes brought in by the last government, however the instigator and author of the rules was Robert Jenrick, the then Home secretary. Even if Kemi is removed, someone with far harsher views on immigration will replace her - likely Robert Jenrick. |

Goke7:True... reason why they mentioned backdating it to 2021. Already the right wing media had started driving the narrative weeks back. Just like the rape scandal, Kemi is only latching on to see if she could get some traction. That's my issue about the conservatives and how they went about migration. It seemed folks just sat and thought about the best ways to denigrate migrants while still letting record numbers in. Like I've always said, if they dont need migrants, they should end it. The funny thing is that if these folks start leaving to other western nations, na still dem go complain. I doubt this would get anywhere under labour though. Thankfully, as said earlier, Starmer would oversee the irreversible integration of our able care workers into the fabric of British society. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by jedisco(m): 12:16pm On Feb 06, 2025 |
Cyberknight:Fingers crossed- I doubt it'd get any traction though. But by bringing up the conversation, they can always return at a later date or blame labour. The funny thing is that I wonder what the aim is or how they hope to drive growth aside looking to impoverish the group they call migrants by draining more visa fees from them and limiting their career growth. Na their way. You can also see it chorused by their minions. They'd blame migrants for low pay in the care sector without holding the govt responsible for the many visas it issued. Or blame migrants for house prices while still blocking new builds. |

Our expatriate farmers at work. I see Britain let in over 30k farming expatriates last year. I'm glad the definition was self-given beforehand to limit the room for hole-digging by Z Talk about tying ones self up in knots.

jedisco:😄 The whole discussion has been hilarious. Everyone in the world knows that no one calls farm workers expatriates despite the technical meaning of the word, and everyone knows precisely why, but let those deceiving no one but themselves continue - It's fun to watch. |

jedisco:Hearing her talk about how citizenship should be a privilege people should work for and not a right is amusing considering her grass to grace story is that she didn't even know she was entitled to British citizenship and just suddenly found out when she was a teen or so 😄 Also, she knows fully well that people on work visas cannot access benefits currently but she still announced it as if her proposal is to implement that, clearly appealing to the smooth-brained lot who believe that immigrants get benefits from day 1 and asylum seekers are gifted iPhones, Nike shoes, and cars soon as they get off the dinghys (I'm not exaggerating - check the daily mail comment sections - people actually believe this). Everything she says and does is in bad faith to prop up her profile and ambition. Once you recognize this, she becomes very simple to understand. |

jedisco:Jedi, Jedi 😂 You and your (not so merry) band of supporters are so desperate to paint me as some type of arch-villian. Sorry to keep disappointing you. I returned your question to you and asked what you think/would like farm workers to be called, since you suddenly (pretend to) care so much. You ran away from the question, only to make childish side comments on another post. Typical. Why are you so triggered, other than you are unable to handle someone with any opposing views to yourself? Talk about showcasing one's immaturity. |

Viruses:UK immigration policies are always forward-looking but this proposed one is backward-looking so beware and this is also the kind of thing the reform party wants to hear. |

| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Zahra29: 8:25pm On Feb 06, 2025 |
Cyberknight:Ha, interesting. Someone said that polls don't matter a jot. On the contrary, it appears that Reform has got the two main parties spooked. There's a bit of a whiff of Animal Farm with this Labour government, especially compared with the last Labour government. But then again I suppose one can't blame them - ignore the zeitgeist and risk losing the vote. |

tushqueen:You don't need an appointment to get the emergency travel certificate just walk in with all the necessary documents. Go with your child birth certificate, £120 postal order from the post office addressing it to the Nigerian high commission in London, copy of child passport if your child have any, copy of your passport and your partner/spouse passport, letter of authorisation from your spouse/partner, Letter of consent from you & your partner/spouse it's very important if not they will delay you and waste your time . It's usually on Monday & Thursday. Make sure you go very early in the morning you also do not need to go with your child I hope that helps.... |

Anchor baby (according to Wikipedia) - also called Passport baby in Canada Anchor baby is a pejorative term used to refer to a child born to non-citizen parents in a country that has birthright citizenship which will therefore help the parents and other family members gain legal residency or avoid deportation Just to clarify, as I frequently see Kemi being labelled here as an anchor baby even though her mother returned to Nigeria after paying private healthcare fees for her birth and there is no evidence that her parents ever attempted to gain UK residency through their daughter, and allegedly didn't even realise that she was eligible for a British passport until she was a teenager. |

The essence of this page is to assist Nigerian UK immigrants who are legally residing or intends to legally reside in the UK. The Uk government has tightened the visa rules, what else can they do? Kemi's 15yr ILR rule is ABATEMENT AB INITIO. I was watching sky news earlier and Kemi the Oikophobe is already a laughing stock with all her over zealous actions on immigration. You were a teenager before realising you are a British citizen by birth and you have lived 10yrs or more outside of England yet suddenly your are more Bri-ish innit? |

Hello house pls I need clarity on a few things applying for a visiting visa for my Mum 1. Can the details of activities in her bank statement/account be explained in the space provided for additional support information or do we need to write a separate cover letter and attach? 2. She is applying as unemployed but stated a a yearly income from gifts and allowances by family/friends and other avenues as 1.5m yearly and monthly expenditure as 75k. Is this suitable? Also is it necessary to show she has savings even though I am sponsoring the whole trip. 3. Does the space for date of entry and exit affect the granting and overall tenure of the Visa. Eg can I state a date span of just 1 month stay even though she might stay slightly longer Thank you in anticipation of your experienced responses. |
