Heyyy investment and financial gurus.

Please i would like to start organising my finances.

After bills i have like about 600 pounds to save. Instead of just putting the 600 in my llyods savings account to sit there (1.15% yearly interest) and do nothing i think its best to get my money to work.

After my research i realised rhe 3 safest thing to do will be to split yhe money into a life time investment ISA (to be ablt to buy a property in the future), put some in a cash isa and then a little bit into stocks and shares ISA.

Please gurus what are your thoughts on this?? Does anyone have any tips, advifes or even suggestions of great platforms i can use for any of the 3 isa areas i mentioned.
I'm not a guru

Personally, I'd start by envisioning how much I'm likely or target to save over the course of the year. Then secondly, how soon would I be looking to buy a house- if its above 3 yrs (some say 5), I'd rather go with S&S Lisa as the returns are likely to be better. Except you have big pockets, when buying a house, you're likely to empty most of your savings eitherway

600x 12 = 7.2k.
I'd first fill my LISA - S&S preferably.
The rest would be a split of S&S ISA and some cash for as emergeny funds. I tend to keep the minimal cash I need- but thats just me

The line of thought here is clear- what's the difference between an expat and a migrant? It's not really about what you believe- these are distinct words with clear meaning.

Migrant
Immigrant
Emigrant
Expatriate

Migrant= expat. Both immigrants and emigrants fall under the umbrella term of migrant. Regarding duration, it's also catered to. There is a reason why 'temporary migrant' is a commonly used phrase to qualify migrants who are not moving permanently.
Will you refer to people that got Canadian PR from Nigeria and eventually relocated as expatriates or migrants?

If you still believe those words are the same no problem.

Again I'm keeping it simple- how did you/family stumble upon a British passport?

- Make it complicated if you like...
Expansive writeup. So in summary, were your parents windrush arrivals or was it an anchor baby situation or some other pathway?

Yes, I've read of the windrush crew- they were great builders some believe. Infact they built most of modern Britain I gather.

Both. I am yet to see any definitive difference between both words (I am not talking about individual bias here) . If you have any, please share.

Hello house pls I need clarity on a few things applying for a visiting visa for my Mum

1. Can the details of activities in her bank statement/account be explained in the space provided for additional support information or do we need to write a separate cover letter and attach?

2. She is applying as unemployed but stated a a yearly income from gifts and allowances by family/friends and other avenues as 1.5m yearly and monthly expenditure as 75k. Is this suitable?
Also is it necessary to show she has savings even though I am sponsoring the whole trip.

3. Does the space for date of entry and exit affect the granting and overall tenure of the Visa. Eg can I state a date span of just 1 month stay even though she might stay slightly longer

Thank you in anticipation of your experienced responses.
Any help pls

I see anchor baby is your new favourite term. I doubt you know what it properly means.

Why are you still harassing me huh Lol
For someone who dislikes me as much as you do, you certainly do give me a lot of attention 🫤

In summary, I'm just an expatriate-immigrant like you (or is it immigrant-expatriate) in search of the Land of Utopia. Can you please rest now.

3. No, yes
2a. Yes but it should be evident in her account activities.
2b. This conflicts with 2a already. As she is the one making the application, her financial situation is paramount. Even if she is not showing savings, she needs to show her statement which cannot be empty and 1.5M annual income - 75k monthly expense should have balance.
1. I can't tell, but I can assure you that it's easier and better to put yourself in a situation where you won't have to explain anything than to put yourself in the situation and starts explaining. Give me an idea of why you want to explain and I may be able to provide alternative even if you are in the situation already.

Saying she's unemployed may be a disadvantage, try petty business, it was suggested earlier.

Thanks so much for your time and explanation.
The explanation is just the inflows and outflow from her account, she uses FBN mobile for transactions but it just adds ref no instead of the description she puts and there are some income(friends/family gifts) without description too.
Her account balance is not empty it is the balance I am thinking of putting as the savings amount

As for using petty trading she has no evidence of business or business activities and as you said I am trying to avoid situauions and explanations.

Hello friends, please I need to send a package from Ibadan to Sheffield/Rotherham. Just about 3kg. Any links please? I know this has been discussed here previously but I'm unable to search out that page. Thanks all.

your savings are a little to invest at the moment. See whether you can target the 10 percent deposit. Also look for a house that you can comfortably overpay by 10 percent annually. So would enable you pay off at most in 10 yeara time.

Are you looking at investing for the long term, or you might require access to funds, at short notice periods.....

Hello everyone
Someone I know have applied for his post study visa since over 2 months now and he hasn't gotten a response from ukvi. He says everyone he knows who applied around same time have gotten it approved.
His visa is already expired going by his BRP, but he can still work and stay legally because he has applied for another visa before the expiration of his student visa.
Is it okay to take this long? Pls note that he was arrested for rape at a point and his phone was returned after 5 months of investigation.
No update from the police after that too
You should place the last information at the beginning, as it’s crucial and shouldn’t feel like a side note. Given the seriousness of the allegation, it’s important for you to recognize that you cannot judge his situation with other applications alongside his. 8 weeks/2 months is okay for him to wait. Goodluck

This will depend on what part of London you are based. I have an instructor in South London.
South east
Woolwich to be precise
Any help

Congrats.

What part of London?

Manual or automatic?
South east, Woolwich

From my little investigation, I understand automatic would be easier for a first timer however I don't mind if an instructor can do the magic, I mean, can teach manual to become very easy to handle if not, I rather choose automatic instead

Thank you
