Jeboy:
Latest update: Intl Students route to PR pathway in New Brunswick finally shut down, AIP slot reduced by 50%.

canada is not smiling.
They are just playing politics with PNP slots and immigration...
All these reduction on PNP Slots to 50% is a retaliation.....
A retaliation from federal to provinces not taken refugees or assylum seekers from ontario and quebec to ease pressure on the two provinces...
A warning from immigration minister before the cuts, they should expect pnp allocations cuts for not having share in assylum seekers..
Now the deal is, if a province wants allocations back they should take share in assylum seekers....
And non of these cuts effects quebec...

Bro, thank you for your swift response.
It seems most province are currently issuing PAL to May 2025 intake, and yet to start with September 2025 intake.
Yes, I think they're trying to sort out May intakes first before September intake. But you might as well contact the school to enquire about yours because, I also called mine and the next day, the PAL was uploaded on my portal.

Yes, I think so.
I have contacted the school and I was told that my request have been shared with the provincial government and once they generate my PAL, the school will forward it to me.

Hello guys.
My sponsor has mutual funds and bonds being held at standard chartered bank.
We plan on liquidating them to show as proof of funds, would there be any documentation to show liquidation?
we already have a portfolio statement and investment certificates

Fees paid, offer accepted, and request for PAL submitted. Now waiting for PAL to be issued so that I can proceed to study permit application. I pray we all make it to CNA.... Amen

At this point, I would advise you go for a 2 years diploma so that your O level will be used as the requirement for admission.
Thank you.
I am just looking at the total cost.
2 years cost will not be easy.

Please I need clarity here.
Biometric and medical were done in Nigeria in 2021 but the study permit was refused. Currently not in Nigeria, does he need another biometric and medical to submit an application?

It depends on which type of application.

If it's for temporary residence such as study permit, then another biometric is not needed. But he needs a new medical exam. If there is enough time, he can just wait till he is invited to do the medical exam (he doesn't have to do it upfront).

The application is for temporary residence (study permit). I was thinking if one reside in some countries like UK for more than 6 months, one will be exempted from medicals.

Does a UK residence require Police Character Certificate for study permit application?

Yes, he will be exempted except if he needs to do co-op in some fields such as healthcare.

No, police character is not needed for study permit except if he has a prior criminal record.

Thank you very much for your swift response. The program is Power Engineering Technology with about 6 weeks internship/work term.

Temporary residence for 2 years and 6 months without any criminal record.
It will be great if all those things are not needed.

Are you saying what you think it should be or what the law clearly states?
You also forget that there are single parents that don't have spouses that would be interested in taking their kids along or intl students that their spouses aren't even interested in going to Canada. In those cases, the intl student travel with the kids.

The current revised policy is clear, dependent kids eligible for school still get to travel and study in Canada.

For visit visa, your chances of successfully getting a visa solely depends on how you can convince the visa officer that you are temporarily going to visit and you will definitely leave after visiting.
The things that you can use to convince them are:
If the VO is fully convinced you are economically well established in Nigeria. Which is determined by the sufficient supporting documents you submit to show you are gainfully employed for years consistently and well paid, or have a well established striving business. If you fail to do this, you will not be getting a visit visa approved.

Other things to be considered are solid home and family ties.

Hello!
Any whatsapp group for Georgian college students? My sis is going this year September. She is already here on visitor's visa and had just sent her passport to Ottawa for stamping.

She needs to link up please.

Thank you so much for the feedback.
I have a company and my statement has over 400m transactions in the last 6 months,do you think this is a good amount that can convince the VO?

Volatile nature of the acct, the opening and closing balance, and the explanations you give for all i listed including the supporting docs will determine if you are well economically established.

What are the reason must people prefer going to
college than University...
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by technix: 11:53pm On Feb 11, 2025
Yes. You can defer you admission. You may have to renew your study permit/visa at some point in Canada before you complete your studies. Compare your new program completion date with the length of validity on your approved visa.

You just need to apply for visitor visa, study permit or work permit for them (depending on what they qualify for). Then include your visa stamp/study permit with their application. If you are applying before coming to Canada, (i) you may want to explain in their LOE why you didn't submit their application with yours. (ii) If your spouse is qualified for open work permit, the work permit application might be rejected and deemed ineligible (depending on the visa officer) because you haven't started studying. But visitor visa application for her would be fine even while you are still in Nigeria.

Most times the entry requirements for Colleges are lower than Universities, also in some cases in the past, it was cheaper to undergo a college programme than a university programme
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Johnbosco1: 10:07am On Feb 12, 2025
Hey guys,

Just a quick suggestion before you submit that college application. You might want to consider skilled trade programs like construction (carpentry, plumbing, electrician, gas technician, welding, etc), automotive technician, or even healthcare and wellness courses.

Skilled trades are in high demand in Canada, and it’s way easier to land solid gigs and even get nominated for PR.

IT courses are still good, but honestly, they’re kinda overrated now and not as great as we all thought. You just might be disappointed 😞.

Whatever province you choose, consider googling the skill trades in demand. The more pragmatic they are, the better. DYOR.

Just something to think about!
