I turned 46 January this year.
I arrived Lagos 13 years ago and dated a lady a little bit older. I was struggling financially and wasn't going to marry in that broke state, coupled with other things,we broke up.

I didn't relationship a chance for a long time, except for casual flings. When I turned 40 in 2019, I dated an Igbo girl. She was 26, I wanted just a fling because I was so broke even the rats in my house ran off because of hunger,.

Some days she visits, I won't have transport fare for her, but she asked me to marry her. This is someone who was engaged to someone that was 9 younger than me.
Not quiet long after, she died.

I met a cross river girl, also 26, she also suggested that we marry,, she's extremely beautiful, but intellectually deficient,

At age 42, I met an Eket (Akwa Ibom) girl, 23 years old, where I was working, our salary was on the same range.
She had a boyfriend who's working in the same place.

I was just going bald and use to hide it with a cap.
We were alone one day, then she asked me if I have 'gorimapa', I nodded. She asked me to remove the cap, I complied, she almost died from laughter .

'why are you not married? " she asked me. " Money ' I replied.
Then she said ' marry me".
I told her that I am 19 years older, but she was adamant,. I would have gone ahead and marry her, but she is still nursing the idea of getting more education, plus the fact that the boyfriend almost died from heartbreak, I left her.

For the past 2 years, my monthly income has been increasing, enough to feed two people, a 29 year old friend wants us to marry, not even date.

I prefer mid to late thirties.

I'm not asking for opinions, just narrating my 'woman matter ' story

For the fact that you said your salary can take care of two people and you want to give marriage a chance , I will say go ahead and let that lady have something doing either 9-5 job like you or she's got something to start doing or already, you may support her .. and I am very sure you would have discovered yourself and she too , to know what you guys want and coming together of you both is all about .

Diabetes.
There wasn't much I could do, but I feel guiit anytime I remember her.
I was extremely busy during the period she passed away.
I will wake by 4 AM and sleep by 1 AM TO chase money, I didn't at least, give her much attention.

29 is no where close to your age range na. If I were you, @ 46, I will be looking to settle with a woman within the age range of 35 - 46, who has solid years or work or business experience, and is reasonably established in whatever legit thing they do for a living.

A woman who is well grounded in their career and personal life will appeal to me more because if I am coming to the table that way I need you to match that energy and let's combine forces and be a movement in our marriage/lives.

I say this as someone who doesn't like to babysit grown ups or hold their hand to teach or show them what to do. That sort of work is best reserved for children who are vulnerable and don't know better yet.

Well it's good to hear that you know what you want, so go for it and don't be swayed by the opinions of others.

@ The statement in bold, I'm a woman too but I went in a different direction with my advice for the reasons I mentioned above.

Great 👌 , that is one area you guys will have to talk . To me I prefer a woman that can create job not looking for job though. Then I will support financially, morally and what it takes . Once I know she's a good woman, intelligent and ready to form a formidable team with me... You know when she start having kids , 9-5 jobs might not give her enough time for the kids. For now , if found for her, you both work things out , plan on it ,do some flexible Savings ahead of time . Power of Savings ,is what help me . I built my 3bedrom mini flat through savings and that's where I live today ( mind you , the Savings are not huge money like that o , 1k sometimes, 2k sometimes, I was determined and I achieved it ) .. so please , we're the author of our lives. I so much respect you , I wish you good luck . Please be patience with her and know that you're the one to re-shape her to how you want her to be , there might be shortcomings from her but how you handle the situation tells her the kinda man you are and you'll earn the respect you deserve from her ..

Like someone wrote up there, your preference is valid. You are well within your right to prefer a certain age demography. The thing isbalot of women between the he ages of 24 to 30 will still rush to marry you. 46 for a man is solid. Many guys your age will not even bother to look at ladies in the age range you want for marriage. They will look at younger women. But just do you if that's what you want mahn...

I take God beg you, quit any job which disrupts your sleep cycle. Get at least six hours of sleep daily if you care for your long term health. All the money in the world will not fix an ailing body.

My only suggestion for you is to pick that twenty-nine year old or someone else in her late twenties for marriage. If you prefer your age range, date them on the side. If woman thirty-five plus years die from childbirth after marriage, you will be back to square one.
