Back then my bro budgeted 1m for wedding in 2023 He later spent about 2m, the hall he used was free, few friends came, drink no reach everyone sef, still he spent close to 2m. Have an amount you won’t go over and then work with that amount. The amount to spend would ultimately depend on you. Your question should be how many people can I invite for a 3m naira budget wedding. What location should I find a hall or an open field for a 3 million naira wedding etc. Going by your original question, someone could say 100m another would say 600k. It depends on d size of guest, u are expecting. If it's a small low-key wedding den budget like 2m. But, if u want to do a large size wedding, budget about 5m. Dats my take on d issue. |

Maitunbi:Above actually, souvenirs was above 200k, food was 600k (we were ripped off on this, caterer originally agreed to 430k but kept increasing things after we already agreed and it was too late to find someone else in the area, I was frustrated but had to pay), hotel booking, photographer etc |

You went ahead to pick the upper limit, lets look at the stats that said only 5% of Nigerians had 500k savings in their account meaning 95% of adult Nigerians don't have such money and if we upscale it to 160 million naira($100k) the number of Nigerians who is able to meet this financial base would be less than 0.1%. For people in this category spending 20% will have nothing to do with their standard of living because they still gave 80% of their income in check. Note that these numbers are negligible. You didn't calculate 20% of 500k naira and 20% of 100k naira where about 80% of Nigerian adults find themselves but used 0.1% to project your opinion which is now meant for 99.9% of Nigerian . The real essence of that comment is that no one just deplete his savings because of wedding preparation when the actual thing is post wedding. Men are mostly blamed if the family finances(men's finances) plummets so every man should put it at the back of his mind that the world will crucify you when you go broke, so he should put everything in check to avoid this one of this is expenses in wedding. 2 Likes |

See don't let anyone decieve you oga, wedding nowadays is costly. You'll see lots of people you didn't even invite my advice for you is to do inhouse marriage if you don't have Money, it should be between your family and her family but if you ever tries to take it to an event hall you'll see shege. Inhouse of both families marriage budget should be 2 million naira. A proper medium marriage using an event center your budget will be 8-10 million naira. I did mine last month so take my advice. Only cow budge should be 1-1.5 million. 800k cow is so small you'll regret buying it. |
