Qatar airways to the UK? No noo for me, long hours, 7hrs+ to Doha another 7hrs to London. After I flew Virgin and KLM to London, anything UK, it's either a direct flight like Virgin, 6hrs you're already at your destination or at most an European flight like Lufthansa, Air France or KLM. 6hrs to Europe, Just 45mins/1hr to London from Paris/Frankfurt or Amsterdam. Btw I'm a silver member of Qatar's privileged club, I've flown them on a number of times to the UK and Saudi mostly. Cashmadam: |

I live in the US, but I would like my parents to visit the UK for vacation. I might travel from the US to join them. Can I be their sponsor? My dad is self-employed and has close to 30M in his account, but he has an old CAC from 1989, but it's not showing on the CAC website again. He will have to reregister the business and file taxes, which will take a while. Can I go ahead and sponsor them with my own US bank statements? I have more than enough funds to cover both of them. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 4:53pm On Feb 17, 2025 |
zeezahbee:You can sponsor them. Present other ties of theirs. It is the home ties one presents that convinces the ECO that one will return as the decisions are based on a balance of probabilities. |

Please I need an advise on my Visa application refusal, it stated the reason was that my personal bank statement shows no salary credit but I have evidence of salary credited each month on my bank statement and I also included my payslips for the last 6 months. I’m think the UKVI omitted checking all my statements attached. How can I go about resolving this issue please.

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by KristyTO: 4:56am On Feb 18, 2025 |
I will also like to state that I included my employment letter, a cover letter, company leave letter, employee ID card, 6months pay-slips and 6 months salary account bank statement, other personal savings bank statement. From the refusal letter it is clear they didn’t go through all my statement uploaded my first uploaded statement was my personal saving account which has over 100 pages, then another of 17 pages and the last uploaded was my salary account statement. |

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by CornOak(m): 7:47am On Feb 18, 2025 |
ammierie:If your application is approved, you don't get a mail from UKVI, instead, you receive a passport collection mail from your VAC (VFS if you're in Nigeria). |

Good morning and sincere apologies for this refusal. You might want to reach out to the UK Home Office/UKVI via email to appeal their decision. If their decision doesn't change, then in your next application, please ensure you clearly highlight all salary credits in your salary account statement and make sure you explicitly state in your cover letter that all salary credits have been highlighted in your salary account statement. You might also want to consider providing account statements covering a three-month period, so reviewing your financial evidence is less time consuming for the visa officer. I submitted account statements for a three-month period clearly highlighting all salary credits and was granted. Having a strong travel history also helps, so if you've been to the UK before or any other highly regarded country with stringent visa requirements, e.g. the U.S., Canada, or a Schengen country, you can easily get away with submitting financial evidence for the most recent three-month period like I did. Sorry about the refusal. Is it clear from your bank statement that your salary was paid each month? If so, this is a mistake from UKVI, and you must make a complaint to them. Send an email to complaints@homeoffice.gov.uk. Tell them that your application was clearly not well considered, considering the fact that you provided something which they are saying was not provided. Ask them to take a second look at the application. They will do that and get back to you. I cannot guarantee that they will grant the visa. They might come back and deny for a different reason. But their current reasoning of not providing evidence of salary payment is false, so you must complain. Let us know how it goes, if you feel so inclined. KristyTO: |

Let me give a suggestion to the house, if I may. The era of just accepting whatever these ECOs say — hook, line, and sinker — should be in the past. If they have clearly made a mistake in your application, I encourage you to complain first before reapplying. These people are humans; they are not infallible. And because we are paying for the visa, we should not accept punishment (and loss of money, as well as a refusal on our record) just because somebody has not done their job well. Recently, we’ve seen bans lifted and refusals changed to approvals. This shows that complaining can work in the right circumstances. But I implore us to only pursue the complaint process if the fault was truly from the ECO. If you are not sure, post the refusal letter and people can advise if the mistake(s) was from your end. If you submitted a problematic application, you should learn from your mistakes and present a stronger one next time. We shouldn’t abuse the process. |

Hello, I did my biometrics on Jan 27th for visitors visa but I have not received any communication or collection mail yet, it’s 3weeks already. Is this normal? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by ammierie(f): 11:28am On Feb 18, 2025 |
CornOak:So how do you get prompts on how to do your visa and the rest? NB: the visa applied for is a dependent visa |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by b31164707: 1:46pm On Feb 18, 2025 |
That's honestly strange, especially since I did my biometrics on February 3rd and received a collection email on February 13th to pick-up my passport with the visa. Maybe they're conducting some background checks pertaining to your application. afehin71: |

Can I include my co-operative details while registration particularly for supporting doc. What is the need for cover need letter, in what format am I going to attach it to the supporting doc? Will appreciate response especially from those that have experience doing this. Thanks |

crackcrack:Thank you for your response, I have sent a mail to complaints@homeoffice.co.uk highlighting each month salary payments on my bank statements for a review, do I need to do anything else? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by crackcrack: 8:50pm On Feb 18, 2025 |
KristyTO:I don’t think there’s anything else for you to do other than wait. They will definitely get back to you. PS: their email address is complaints@homeoffice.gov.uk. In your reply above, you said you emailed complaints@homeoffice.co.uk. Check that you sent your email to the right address. |

ammierie:Let me lessen the scenario. You meet someone in the supermarket and you are with your child, they ask you, is this your child? You confirm in the affirmative. And they say how is he/she your child? Can you prove to me miss/master A is your child? Apart from birth certificate what would you show to them to prove this? All evidence begins from pregnancy assuming you are the mother… 1. Ultrasound Images- You could pull out some ultrasound photos from pregnancy. They often have your name and the date, which shows the timeline of pregnancy. 2. Maternity Photos: You could share some maternity photos that you took during pregnancy, maybe with some friends or family, showing growing belly. 3. Hospital Records: hospital discharge papers from when you gave birth, which would contain your name, the baby’s name, and details of the delivery. 4. Health Documents: health records from prenatal check-ups or vaccinations for the child 5. Personal pictures with other family members or picture of milestones of my child, that only a parent would know. 6. School fees receipts, other expenses incurred on child like school clubs etc 7. Hospital letters etc All of these would help paint a picture of your relationship beyond just a birth certificate to your child. The list is not exhaustive. |
