No player is bigger than the club. If he leaves today, better replacements will be found. After Osimhen left Napoli, how did it affect them? They’re top of the league.

Ronaldo left Madrid, Madrid remained, Messi left Barca, Barca remain.
You can see how Man U has been without its stars.

Club may remain but in the lower division.

I see problem coming soon, these Italians are weird people. They only sing your praise when things are rosy........Lookman should start looking for another club now, from the look of things the coach wanna turn his teammates and Italian fans against him.

I don't think he'll enjoy playing his football under that kinda toxic coach from now henceforth.

He should have refrained from making a reactionary public statement. The Manager let his emotions cloud his judgment because of the loss they suffered.
In life, once you start explaining yourself, you’ll always find yourself doing it.
EXACTLY.
As an African or Black Player, you should NEVER clash with ur Coach, bcus you can easily be Dispensed with. smiley

Re: Lookman Responds To Gasperini Criticism After Penalty Miss by dominique(mod): 6:59pm On Feb 19, 2025
For context, they were trailing 3 goals down, 5-1 on aggregate. Lookman was brought in as a 2nd half substitute fresh out of injury and he scored a consolation goal minutes after he was brought in. he was awarded a penalty which would have made the match 3-2 but he missed it and they eventually lost the match on 5-2 aggregate. Why now is Gasperini singling out a penalty miss on why they lost? Because it was from an African, the same African that made history for the team? Shame on him!
Re: Lookman Responds To Gasperini Criticism After Penalty Miss by jelel6: 7:01pm On Feb 19, 2025
The coach was definitely right to lose his shitt with a player who upended the designated penalty taker in a crucial game.

First of all, lookman is actually a terrible penalty taker. Fulham fans have never forgiven him for attempting and missing a Penanka in the 94th minute of a loss.

What do you expect your coach to do? Be happy that the worse penalty taker he's ever seen actually took a penalty in a very important game?

Bunch of hypocrite

Which outshine? Which African player in the Serie A now had the type of impact Samuel Eto’o had when he was in Inter?

Not everything is racism.

Your statement is true but also goes both ways...!

No coach is also bigger than the club.

Atalanta's recent success from last season can be linked to Lookman's skills, hardwork and commitment.

Why is it so hard to accept that the coach goofed by speaking in such a manner?!!

Since Lookman got injured, the club and team practically collapsed.

The coach should do better.

Not everything should go to social media.

He should make his skill speak for him. Players like Messi and Ronaldo at his age would have gone to improve their PK taking skills.
Oh please...!

His skills already speak for him.

The last time Ronaldo got benched by his coach, did we hear the last of it on social media?!!

Did Messi ever keep quiet when disrespected by managers?!!

They all human with feelings and reputations to protect.

Do most black employers not treat their workers worse than the bold part? Or even our local slave owners like Madam Tinubu?

Do you think that T-Pain adopted Tinubu name deliberately?

anonimi:
The often cited biography titled Madame Tinubu: Merchant and King-maker, authored by Nigerian historian Oladipo Yemitan, paints her views regarding slave trading.

On one occasion, during her final sojourn in Abeokuta, she was alleged to have sold a young boy into slavery and was accused of it. When arraigned before Ogundipe Alatise over the matter, she reportedly explained: 'I have a large house-hold and I must feed them well. I need money to do that, that's why'.

— Oladipo. Yemitan, 'Madame Tinubu: Merchant and King-maker'

Another section of Yemitan's Tinubu biography, referred to as the Amadie-Ojo Affair, captures a slave trading deal gone sour in 1853 (notably after the 1852 Treaty abolishing slavery in Lagos) wherein Tinubu tells another slave trader (Domingo Martinez) that "she would rather drown the slaves [20 in number] than sell them at a discount".

How much clout does THIS player have relative to the coach huh
A lot actually...! He has been the shining light and a key part of the nascent success of that club.

Scoring a hat trick in a Europa final to help them win their first European title in decades is no mean achievement.

Since he got injured, they have struggled visibly.

The coach should never have made such careless statements... Blaming a player for a game they already lost in first half is immature and stupid.

Scoring penalties is not a nature, but an habit.
If the keeper knows you have a certain scoring habit, he studies your habit and does whatever to prevent you from executing the goal of your habit.
So Lookman, look away from the Jewish-minded bloodsucker and save your mind from being occupied by his murderous intrusive statements.

The response is fantastic, considerate, and respectful. A good PR piece. I expect that his coach to respect himself and apologise for hurting the feelings of the young man and others in the team.

A black man, no matter his achievements, will always be seen as inferior in the eyes of a white man. We better build our country, if not we will always be second class citizens anywhere we go to in this world.

The coach goofed by saying such in public. But the player shouldn’t have gone to make a statement across social media.

The club is in better position in the league this season compared to same period last season. Lookman wasn’t the top scorer in the club last season. This season he’s still not their top scorer.

The club is 3rd on the table and the top scorer in the league is from the club and he has 10 goals more than Lookman.

He merely has more playing time and takes most of the penalties.

But, that's not the point... He is not one at the receiving end here.

Well, at this point, the management should call both player and coach to order.

If there is already bad blood between both of them, then the needful should be done... The player should look for another club.

...Cos I don't see any reason to single out one player out of others in a match that you lost in first half.
Re: Lookman Responds To Gasperini Criticism After Penalty Miss by bentenny(m): 7:35pm On Feb 19, 2025
It was very insensitive and disappointing for a manager to not only publicly criticize his team but also single out a particular play for condemnation!

Lookman who is just coming back from an injury should be praised for even giving Atalanta a glimmer of hope with that early second half goal as a substitute in spite of a horrendous and shambolic first half display!

Football is a collective game and I expected the manager to know better with his experience!

Which crucial game? Their chances of qualifying are slim to none! Penalty win or not, they would have crashed out unless they scored 4 unreplied goals!
