Not all lawyers understand the technicalities of the profession, but passion also plays an important role. Some did not have the opportunity to be mentored by seasoned attorneys, while others are confident in their abilities. Many have carved out a niche for themselves and chosen fields in which they want to specialize. Fortune favors the bold, and almost all the lawyers I have worked with are doing well. |

Law practices and lower, high and Supreme Court court judgement systems are the causes of disagreements systems operations in any country with lawyer practices systems in the world 🌎 , thereby causing trouble making systems among themselves which ends up underdevelopement operations in the country concerned. South Korea the highest and largest ocean going vessels Ship builders in the 🌎 world today, after the end of the 2nd world wars in 1945 started free education at all levels from primary to University levels with 85% intake on Science and technology, and 15% intake in Korean Arts. and Cultures with No admission intake into LAW. That is why today South Korea and North Korea are among the largest Industrial and Technological producers in the world as they don't need law systems operations disturbance systems operations. |

Oga, this surest way to make it as a lawyer in nigeria is to become an overnight human right activist and start protesting on the streets of lagos and Abuja for vulnerable citizens. From there , you easily become visible and clients start chasing you as a human right activist (Though FAKE activist). There after join politics and if you fail, join any government in power to make it big. Example of such overnight activists abound everywhere in Nigeria like Keyamo, Olisa Agbakoba, Femi Falana, Wahab Shittu, that GEJ government lawyer from Edo (I have forgotten his name now) etc. Deji Adeyanju is currently doing same. That human rights activist strategy works like magic. |

Natbrowny:because of most Naijs lawyers want easy charge and bail cases. Femi Falana wants difficult cases like suing Abacha military govt, shell, big banks, governors etc |

OP you re ignoring a fac, there are just too many lawyers in the country, too many reading law in schools. Goto a typical tertiary school, how many law students do we have in a law faculty? Thousands. How many do we have in Faculty of Engineering, not up to 200. When there is an oversupply of something the value plummets, same with humanities, forget about all the drama you re speaking. The only rich lawyers in Nigeria are those who are into politics or are politicians. No matter your profession, you can't thrive where hard work, integrity , innovation and honesty are scorned by the elite. |

Instead of them to go to the prisons where they will see thousands of clients, they will be busy forming posh. |

Their problem is that they want to be jack of all trades and eh result is that they are master of none. and you see only masters of something earn big. They are virtually in all sectors doing jobs they know nothing about instead of exploring the legal loopholes of those professions. The want to be sicker coach, site supervisors, real estate managers without any experience and for training on such. Let them think out if the box and leave that mentality that they are superior to others professions . |

Too many lawyers. Everybody that goes to art class in secondary school automatically wants to become a lawyer. Most Nigerians don't believe in the legal system. It's too fraudulent and rigged to favour the rich. Many Nigerians are not rich enough to afford lawyers. There are cases where some Nigerians spend years in prison just because they can't afford to bail themselves. |

Not all that was written up is true. Lawyers in nigeria are poor because NIGERIANS ARE EXTREMELY POOR as we speak The only time a poor Nigerian would ever think of breaking the bank for a legal service is when he or she has eaten and eaten well Study Maslow hierarchy of needs and wants. Food and shelter are number 1 priority. There are too many hungry nigerians as i type this post How can they afford anything except food. Also Nigerians economy is not as advanced where you have different forms of practice evolve from legal practise For instance, In ibadan there is nothing called the Oil and Gas sector here so all you have is legal matters on contracts, chieftaincy titles, land, and criminal activities. Except these things, you would never need a LAWYER Also on the land aspect, you have agents now who have taken over the work of LAWYERS, they use the same template for legal agreements in breach of the law and they even charge more than the lawyers 10 percent So why wont Lawyers be poor. I have a lot of colleagues who have left the practice and who have abandoned their careers all together It takes years to be a senior lawyer that's when the banks or politicians or rich clients can use you and that's when you can now begin to reap the fruits of your labour but before then Poverty would be very very close to ones side. |

maybet081:The reason I opted to read another course in the university. I have a lawyer uncle who is super-corrupt! I couldn't deal with his behaviour, so much repugnance I felt that I had to change my mind about studying law. |

Lack of visibility and packaging. You need this to attract the rich clients that will make you rich. Again there is seniority in law practice, SAN will always come first and regarded most |
