Bro there is something called a Knock sensor. I’m 90% sure that small devil is the one stressing you. My car kept stalling and moving, couldn’t even climb culvert, let alone Lagos bridges. Did everything, until a third scan picked it up.

OP.. when you press on the throttle, does the engine rev high without increasing its speed without increasing speed till after a few seconds? - That might be a very big sign of a gear wear. Experienced this once and it lead to me buying another gearbox. I do hope it’s not the same thing in your case.

If it’s anything about the fuel injectors or anything relating to fuel mixture in the engine, the car will be surging and having irregular acceleration. Not that it won’t accelerate for a while.

The fuel consumption things is most likely a very different thing

Does the car vibrate on idle?

If it does, then chances are your gasket is running flat.

I had similar experience with my lexus rx300, it started 2 weeks ago, I just fixed it yesterday, nothing I didn't do, I bought scanner of about 75k on jumia, scanned it several time, check my coil, check my plugs, change fuel pump three times yet the problem persists, until someone told me to check the engine sensors located near the shaft, passengers side, my mechanic has to loose the whole area where the timing belt is located, though my engine sensor was confirmed okay, after couple the engine back, the car can now accelerate full, before the accelerator will nit go beyond 2000.

1: Go to any spare part market tell them to help u insert catalyst into your exhaust, to stop consuming fuel.
2: check your plugs, nozzles, and coils one by one.

Since you have check all those things above. Check your piston rings it could be responsible for the incomplete combustion.

Does it overheat as well? If the temperature on the dashboard remains high, especially when you turn on the A.C. or are stuck in heavy traffic, you may need to inspect your engine. It could require a new gasket or even engine re-ringing.

first check your oil for it's thickness, if it's not mixing with petrol, if it's at below Guage or above guage which in that case is the case of bad bb

You have 2 entirely unrelated issues here.

The delay in shifting is between the Gearbox or the Wheel sensors.
It's also called HARD SHIFTING. You can Google more about this.

The black smoke is due to rich condition. It could be airflow, plugs, coil/coil wires. Etc.

Before you think of changing or working the Gearbox, I suggest you go to the VALVE BODY.

Some very good Gearbox experts know how to service the VALVE BODY.

Infact when they drop the valve body, they would touch and move all those tiny components in it to know if they are okay.

There are also some solenoids in the valve body, the Gearbox technician should know how to test each solenoid directly with a car battery.

If there is nothing wrong with the valve body and wheel sensor, den go straight to look into the main Gearbox.

When you drain the oil from the Gearbox, try to observe if there are little metal fibers in it.
