Atiku’s Anti-Party Activities Still Haunting PDP – Wike by Great100000(op): 12:35pm On Feb 28, 2025
Lere Olayinka, Special Adviser on Public Communication to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has accused former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, of sowing the seed of anti-party in the PDP.

He claimed that Atiku’s actions in 2003, 2007, and 2014 still haunt the party.

He was reacting to claims by Atiku’s media aide, Paul Ibe, that Wike was involved in anti-party activities.

According to Olayinka, Atiku’s actions in 2003, 2007, and 2014 still haunt the party.

Olayinka was reacting to claims by Atiku’s media aide, Paul Ibe, that Wike was involved in anti-party activities. Ibe had referred to a letter from the PDP to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) cancelling the South South Zonal Congress due to operational constraints.

Despite the letter, Wike’s camp conducted the Congress, with former governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, in attendance.

Ibe claimed that Wike and his cohorts deliberately conducted the Congress to “create a crisis to serve the interest of his paymasters.”

However, Olayinka countered that Atiku’s followers should stop pushing the deceitful narrative of their principal running for the presidency again. “Better tell your serial presidential election contester and loser to go and rest,” Olayinka said.

“The seed of anti-party your @atiku sowed in the @OfficialPDPNig in 2003, 2007 and 2014 is still hunting the party till today.”

Olayinka also questioned the validity of the letter, pointing out that it took five days to reach INEC and was received three days after the Congress was held.

“I pray that very soon, those ‘Atiku is Coming’ people who are feeding from @atiku’s elusive presidential ambition will have the conscience to say the truth and tell the former VP that he lost the opportunity to be the President of Nigeria to his 2003, 2007 and 2014 rebellions against the @OfficialPDPNig.”

He added, “Rather than their masturbation on @GovWike this, Wike that, they should fear God and stop their ATIKU IS COMING deceit. It is time for Daddy to rest now and let the PDP breathe. DAZZOL.”

A group, PDP Frontiers for Change and Progress, has urged Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to prove his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by wooing President Bola Tinubu to join the party.

The group’s National Coordinator, Emeka Ikpegbu, questioned Wike’s loyalty, saying, “Wike should first bring his principal, President Bola Tinubu, who he praises every day to the PDP before preaching to us about anti-party.”

2023: PDP and politics of healing Wike’s self-inflicted injury

Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld.

One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.

Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

Why did you make this comment?

Why?

Atiku destroyed PDP, with Saraki and Tambuwal.

Wike is doing what they did before, but the truth is that, Wike hasn’t left PDP yet.

Atiku left PDP to form APC and fought against a PDP President.

Not just a Presidential Candidate oo,

But a Sitting President.

I will support Wike to fight and destroy Atiku at all time.

Atiku greediness caused him all this.

If Northerner did something, we no Dey remember am again.

But as Wike na Southerner.

We go always criticize am at all time.

Hard questions but let me try and respond

From the look of things I don't trust any of the political parties currently in Nigeria because of the faulty foundation they are all standing on

I think a kind of referendum should be conducted in the 36 state of Nigeria in a transparent way for citizens to decide the kind of government they want whether parliamentary or presidential or Regional kind of government

Other than that, the country is likely to remain in the wilderness for a long period in the hands of criminals sipping champagne 🍾 in Abuja shocked
