Of course, it would be smart to you Southwesterners. You just need a justification for the betrayal. You betrayed him and want to dictate the terms of his reaction. BAT had the option of not nominating him at all, but he went further to embarrass him (despite begging him publicly in Kaduna and for several months after the election). I will say this outcome was already predetermined, which is rather unfortunate because Northerners cannot relate. Northerners generally give their word and keep it. Betrayal is not a northern way of life.

Using the Southern Kaduna analogy is like saying because Yoruba Obidients in Lagos do not support BAT, then BAT does not deserve to be President. There will always be opposition in every state. Don't worry, to understand what will happen by 2027, simply take most of BAT's numbers across the North and add it to Atiku's (PDP) margins. Southern Kaduna voted Obi and that will largely not change in 2027 (apart from a few Yoruba Obidients, no serious Obi supporter in 2023 will now vote BAT). They generally vote at variance with the North and they also do not have the numbers. It is a known fact that Northerners generally vote one-way, except in 2023 when they splitted their votes just to deliver BAT.
Typical Elrufai arrogance, are you northeners? Well, I like your confidence. Tinubu will still secure his northern votes🤷

El Rufai never support PBAT.
He thought is good at the game, but lo and behold, he met his Master gamers.
El-Rufai has lost it!
He can only be going up and down like a water without a base.
That is why he took to Court - to buy time, like other NIGERIAN- Politicians.
Going to Court,no be your mate!
He has no political relevance - for losing ALL SENATORS to Opposition Party- while he has his Family Members in both State House and Federal House of Reps.
Very Shameful!

Dude, he lost by only 10,000 votes—that's crazy close! It could've gone either way.

In the West, Lagos would be a swing state leaning APC, like always.

Most of the Southwest is the same; people there aren't locked into one party.

Given Lagos' demographics and all the drama around BAT, he did pretty well to get those votes.

And he's smart; he knows it's about the total, and his people delivered where it counted, except maybe Rivers where I am not sure we can trust that report.

Take out Rivers, he still wins hands down
You are explaining rubbish.

Elrufai never supported BAT because PDP won Kaduna? Who did Sanwo-olu, Gbaja and all the Lagos boys support in Lagos? Why did Tinubu lose Lagos to Obi and Osun to Atiku? Elrufai was not on the ballot, Tinubu was, except you expected him to rig the elections like in Rivers. Before you come and say "but APC retained all senate seats in Lagos", just know that the fact that APC won all the Senate seats in Lagos even proves how Lagosians were intentional about not voting Tinubu, specifically. They had nothing against other APC contestants. Tinubu was grossly unpopular and we all know GRV would have won the gubernatorial but for voter intimidation and suppression.

Elrufai will not be on the ballot in 2027 but Northerners who ditched their son, Atiku and supported Tinubu due to the influence of Elrufai in 2023 will simply take their votes elsewhere. Betrayals have consequences.
You raised important points. Let me add that if LP had a senatorial candidate in Eti-Osa (the richest and most enlightened LGA in Nigeria), the candidate would've won. People on the island made such to kick APC out on the presidential election day and that part of Lagos gave Peter Obi the votes he needed to beat Tinubu. Even the unknown guy who contested in LP in the House of Reps beat the popular and more influential APC candidate for Eti-Osa.

Seeing what happened on the presidential election day, APC mobilized their thugs and started causing mayhem everywhere on the guber election day. Fight broke out in my PU because balé gave an instruction that voting should stop. Unfortunately, the military (may God bless those folks for staying with us on the presidential election day till midnight) didn't come to my PU on the guber election day. APC thugs destroyed everything.

Don't mind the midget.
He thought he could play BAT. Supporting BAT in the day, yet Atiku in the night, and the Presidential election result proofed it all.
BAT decided to show him who is the master of the game. Presented his name as minister for screening, then turned around to kick him out using security report.
Now he understands who The Game Master is, and there is nothing he can do about it.

Middle Belters and Northern Christians are massively voting for PBAT in 2027. I am one of them and we are seriously mobilizing. It's a joke to even say that El Rufai influenced Northern votes for PBAT. He lost all senators to PDP and out of 16 House of Reps, he lost 14 or so to LP and others. He is bad news to the North even in his native Kaduna state.

Are you people so weak and dumb that you shout betrayal with any slight opportunity?

Was it betrayal that made Kenneth okonkeo dumped Peter OBI?....Was it betrayal that made PETER OBI slied Ojukwu and Atiku?...was it betrayal that made ojukwu ran away with his own family to ivory Coast while 3million Igbo souls are being wasted in Nigeria.

Was it also betrayal that made el rufai slied ATIKU that introduced him to OBJ ..Was it betrayal that made el rufai slied yaradua that was anointed by his boss OBJ

There are 5 el rufai boys in BAT government-from speaker Adams to madam fareedah to CBN deputy governor etc....must el rufai himself be appointed?....DID Buhari appointed TINUBU in 2015 and 2019?...was BAT crying betrayal around and jumping from one interview to the other?...This shout of betrayal is making you people look weak!

Don't worry, latterday convert. The votes will be swapped in 2027. If your voting against him couldn't stop him from being President, maybe voting him in 2027 shall make him President. As for the people that voted him in 2023, they are taking their business elsewhere.

No need for any long explanations. He lost Lagos, his own base and that's all that matters. Obi won Anambra and Atiku won Adamawa. The margin is irrelevant because Lagos was largely a two-horse race (APC and Obi) unlike Kaduna that was a three-horse race with Atiku (a fellow Northerner), Obi (the Candidate for all Christians) and Tinubu (muslim-muslim ticket was his only saviour). My point remains, why do you accuse Elrufai of working against Tinubu and the same is not directed at Akpabio, Gbaja, Ganduje, Ribadu, Bagudu, etc who all lost their states too.

Tinubu's margin of almost 400k in Kaduna is still larger than two Southwest states combined. Besides, despite Tinubu losing most northern states to Atiku, he still won the North overall (in terms of margin) getting 5.6m out of his total 8.3m from the North. Northerners are not buying this claim of you all saying Elrufai worked against Tinubu because they know it to be untrue. Rather, all Elrufai's opponents (who worked against the APC in 2023) have now been invited to the table to eat where he toiled to deliver his party's candidate. It is gross betrayal!

P.S: Kaduna is also a very cosmopolitan state with diverse tribes and a strong Christian population. Do you all consider these nuances when making your analysis?
Oga that mallam worked for atiku, Apc always struggle to win presidential election in Lagos. Some Yoruba Christians that voted Obi for president in Lagos still went to vote for babajide as governor. I don't understand you people sudden love for Fulanis after insulting them for years. U guys are too poor in politics.

This is one of most un reason comment have read on this platform this week, let's gives you some indepth analysis of Lagos and Kaduna voting.
APC lost presidential election I Lagos by a margins less than 20 thousand votes, but in case of Kaduna, APC loses the election by add the figure of both APC and Labour part is just not equal to PDP votes, where is ElRufai popularity now, Tinubu know we'll that ElRufai is a mole and rightly outsmart him, to teach him the lesson of his life. You can teach old monkey the old trick. Omo GBA fun oga e.

What a monumental betrayal and grateful capitulation of trust.
El-rufai stood by Tinubu who couldn't even recite the first verse of the Koran when he went to campaign in the North!
In the South he was shouting bala blu and a town hall abracadabra.
If you are that El-rufai NEVER supported Tinubu, then good luck to you.
Whether he supported or not.
El rufai is a very immature politician with all his recent rants!

BAT maintained his coolness even when Buhari cabal was decimating him for good 8years!....Not as if he was a coward,he just placed brain and intelligence above Nzogbu Nzogbu approach and it paid off, today,he is the president!

There is nothing el rufai can do to BAT in 2027 except Allah allows it!

2023 Election Score Card in Kaduna;

Lost Presidential Election in Kaduna(PDP, Atiku won)
Lost All three (3) Senatorial Elections

Out of 16 House of Reps he won 4( Current Speaker, His Son) and lost 12

Kaduna State Assembly he won 22 and lost 12.

As for the Guber we all know what what happened.
In 2015 he rode on the back of Buhari follower-ship in the North to become Governor(He attested on Arise Interview with Charles Aniloglu)

Again I ask? What is the political value of Nasir Elrufai aside threatening people and looking for loopholes to gaslight?

Soon PDP will take all their state's back and APC or Action Congress will be left with only their Lagos.

In Response to the Specific case of Elrufai, I don't believe that he worked against Tinubu, at least not directly.

He campaigned and spoke up for him, when it matters, and rallied his own group to support BAT.

However, his perceived hatred for and treatment of people of Southern Kaduna, may have worked against BAT, and given Obi the inroads he had in Kaduna, this are votes that would have potentially been BATs.

That he lost all the three senatorial slots and most of the assembly votes in the state is also not looking good.

He is a good and effective administrator, but has a very terrible and harsh image. That is why he is so controversial.

Yes BAT should have rewarded him, but we don't know what the president saw to make him change his mind.

Considering the current ranting of El Rufai, I have to agree that it was smart that BAT dropped him.
Smartness that is coming back to haunt him

Tinubu should have brought El Rufai in.

Even without holding any position currently, El Rufai still command huge northern followers much more than all the Northerners currently holding positions under the Tinubu government

I choose to disagree with you on this, Elrufai is more of a technocracy than a politician.

He won his election as governor of Kaduna state (his first ever political contest) more as a result of the Buhari wave, than because of any political acumen he personally poses.

He is a vocal and capable administrator, and for that reason alone, he would have added value to the Tinubu administration.

In terms of his political influence it is very limited, he can't influence Kaduna state, talk less of other states in the North.
