America001:I really hate that you both decided to split 850 and 450- to me there was no need as you say there are adequate funds. If there was a voice note app here, I would have happily dropped a long explanation to what I am trying to tell you. Anyway goodluck in your next steps. |

pharell910:Your school address is your primary address in the UK. Use that for all your correspondence for now. |

America001:You can lodge a complaint if you believe that the basis for the refusal is incorrect or inaccurate; otherwise, filing a complaint will amount to a waste of time because it won't yield a positive result. |

giselle237:I’m telling you that funding wasn’t the reason for that. Her last two applications were sponsored by me and my wife currently has £5.7k as she has been working since last year, we just felt showing we both earn could be a good showing but as it is, that would be reviewed going forward. I would really want to raise a complaint because even if they conveniently chose to ignore the letter of explanation, why didn’t they consider the payslips or did I manufacture that too? If they doubted the authenticity then they should have verified it. My brother I’m talking to you as if you’re the person responsible for UKVI decisions, don’t mind me. How do make this next move is what I’m asking. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by America001: 12:17am On Mar 07, 2025 |
Ashirioluwa:Boss Ashirioluwa, first of all thank you for responding. I’ve been a follower of both you and giselle especially in the Life in the UK thread. The fact that they didn’t even acknowledge my evidence and explanation is what’s driving me mad. If you check the screenshots I attached above, you’ll see I highlighted every single reason they used in the denial during application. I picked those transactions one by one with date and evidence only for them to use them as reasons for denial without even recourse or acknowledgment of my explanation letter or payslips? Assuming they acknowledged any of that and faulted them, I would have felt defeated but right now I feel cheated. A whole payment and payslips from Anambra state government of Nigeria is what they term unknown sources. I swear e no go beta for this people. A payment clearly written “leave allowance” is what’s labelled unknown sources even with the stamped payslip. I wish I was having a one on one with them cos this is really black and white bullshit. Can you advise how I can proceed with the complaint? |

America001:I don't think filing a complaint or asking for a review will alter the earlier decision in this circumstance. Even though you claimed that all of the credits to your account were explained, the visa officer doubts your financial circumstances due to your living expenditures based on the information he obtained from your bank statement and also your reliance on financial support from your host. This is my own personal view. I am not an expert on visa or immigration matters, so you shouldn't take it at face value. |

America001:I think you should complain considering what u explained was even called out as unexplained. Her application ought to be straightforward since she is retired and she is travelling to see her daughter and grandchildren. In the last 1 and half years, both of my parents and MIL (twice) have been here with no refusal. They are all retired except my dad that still does business. In all of their applications, I included their bank statements, mine as the sponsor, my payslips, letter of invitation, my BRP and birth certificate to show relationship that's all. I did not even include any further explanation to explain the bank statements. However, their contribution towards the trip i stated is higher than what you have said. I stated amount enough for them to at least buy flight tickets. Then I did not mention they were coming to help look after the kids. To give credit to all you have said, it appears this whole UK visit visa application is becoming increasingly difficult either by some ECOs not going through the application well or there is something hidden we are not aware of. I think you should complain, it cost you nothing and their is a slight chance of reconsideration. |

America001:You can complain- it doesn’t take anything away from you while deciding your next move. Or reapply immediately with one sponsor and required proof for all you have stated in your form. |

Any Feb 17th biometrics here? And am I the only one unable to check application progress on VFS for a few days now? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by OgbeniOptional(m): 10:59am On Mar 07, 2025 |
Please where can I make a complaint about this VFS delivery company? After making a payment of 41k, they dare to say my mom should come to get her passport at the state capital that they don't deliver to the address. Really? Please nobody should say encourage made in Naija o, i remember DHL delivered my passport to my house few years ago for 11k or so and as recent as 2 years ago for another person to the same address. Rice became expensive the moment they encourage Naija made rice. Nonsense. Why should foreign service be cheaper than what is made inside Naija. |

Good morning, everyone. On February 18, one of my relatives submitted his application and received an email from UKVI the following day stating, "We are still processing your application." But when I checked the application tracking portal today to see how his application is progressing, I saw no information update there.

WCUB3:Try it with the link below. You need your application number (GWF numbers) and your email. https://atlantis-abs-uk.vfsglobal.com/track-status?missionCode=GBR&countryCode=nga&lang=en |

Hello For TB tests, what documents do you go along with when going to the centre. Is it just the appointment letter, passport and receipt of payment if you made payment?? Also, is there a link to get the current exchange ratr used for the TB test payment? Thank you |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 2:17pm On Mar 07, 2025 |
pharell910:Please go to the UK student thread. You will get better help there. Non one fixes the exchange rate, they already have their naira charge rates set out. |

Good afternoon boss. Apologies for the delayed response as I have been offline for a few days. No, you don't require a transit visa with Qatar Airways unless you'll be transiting for a minimum of 5 hours in Doha and you intend to leave the airport in Doha. However, if you only want to transit in Qatar, don't waste time and money applying for a transit visa, especially if your transit time is less than 5 hours like mine. When I checked for available flights late last month for a travel date in March, Qatar Airways was about 1.35m, while Air Peace was about 1.33m and I believe this is because March isn't usually a peak season for travellers, so flights tend to be more affordable compared to flights in the summer period (June to August) or in December for instance. However, I'd still strongly recommend Qatar Airways, despite being slightly more expensive, due to the fact that they have better hospitality. Hence, you'll be getting value for your money. As someone who has previously visited Qatar, I can attest to the fact that Hamad International AIrport is a very beautiful airport, so it's worth flying there too. Hope this answers your question. giselle237:Will address future questions there. The fees stated is $95. Reason why I asked for the rate being used. If I were to transfer to make payment, just to know the exact amount to transfer |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 2:46pm On Mar 07, 2025 |
pharell910:Again, fees charged by them is in naira and are reviewed not frequently. There is no fluctuation with exchange rates. Go to the UK student thread and ask OR check their respective websites- IOM, Q life etc OR call the offices- IOM, Q life, St Nicholas etc. You will not get answers or very delayed responses here. |

To me the explanation in the cover letter was too much, trust me if UKVI needs clarification, they will send notify you via email. But then we go again America001: |

Use Oanda rate but I will advice you use other centres in lagos, they charged 90k in Ikoyi, people dont know about three new subsidiary centres yet, unless you are not in lagos. pharell910: |

babadydx:What happened to the application or relevant info submitted? Is it pof, is it work ref letter, is it education degree, is it payslips, agent no talk which of them he get issue with. What about the travel history? The person has never left nigeria before is that a taboo? No interview was done with the person or the person’s sponsor? No detailed reason So how exactly is one supposed to correct whatever the agent found wrong when i re-apply? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 3:54pm On Mar 07, 2025 |
@eniola1010 send paid mail. This was a mistake. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by eniola1010(m): 4:07pm On Mar 07, 2025 |
giselle237:When i saw it i know that it was an error or the agent got carried away and forgot to state the reason. Thank you so much. Not related tho, but on this thread i see so many people challenging a refusal, but on most refusal i see, they always state that you cannot appeal, (1) should one ignore that clause and still appeal (2) has any body on this thread ever had his/her appeal turned from refusal to approval? |
