Nnamdipapa:Storyland! We need to stop telling lies abeg! 🙄🙄🙄 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_X834O9MaCM?si=2jfJiX-rygCx0vKp To lose even 1lb of weight per day, one has to burn approximately 4500 calories every single day, this is not counting the food your body needs daily to operate, which is approximately 1000-1200 calories. ![]() ✓ Walking 2 hours, you will burn approximately 350 calories(walking up steep inclines for extended period assumed). ✓ That platter you have there with 5 eggs, 1 avocado, and beef looks like it could be a total of 1000 calories. How you want make we come believe say you loose even 0.3 lbs a day let alone 1.3 lbs per day for the past 7 days? No be juju be that? ![]() |

Kobojunkie:After fasting for two days, I started the diet, eat only once in a day, Skipped breakfast and eat the only meal around 2pm. Zero sugar intake and I now have more energy and have walked one hour thirty minutes every day. You have the habits of arguing mindlessly instead of waiting to learn from others. I am just starting my story and will post more evidence but as you love to argue baselessly, you could not resist the temptation to antagonize. This is not a thread about religion but my LIVED experience. I stand on the scale everyday and take my blood sugar measurement on a daily basis as well to gauge progress. I have a goal to lose 20lb more in the next three months. |

Nnamdipapa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7yM0TKvUm4?si=ZUGO70sxgAP5heNi This is just one of the TED Ed videos on YouTube that you can watch to help you get on the right track as far as losing weight is concerned. ![]() I am not trying to enter into a useless debate with you here. I am simply pointing out that the science of what you claim does not add up as all. What you describe amounts to juju. Even people who lose weight every so often for professional reasons -- actors, models, celebrities --- do not report such successes in so short time as you claim and this is with all the professionals they have working with them and all. ![]() |

Kobojunkie:It's possible. Once you're in ketosis your body starts releasing glycogen and also releasing the water stored in then. It's very easy to lose a lot of water weight initially. Some of it returns once you start eating Carbs again. I did a 14 day water fast last year. The scale said I lost 25 pounds. But after refeeding it was about 14 pounds (fat and some muscle). I usually expect to lose and keep off 1 pound a day when doing a full water fast. I also work out in the midst of it as well. When I can. |

ijebosb:Please stop telling us these lies. Watch the video to understand how what you claim is scientifically impossible! Do the math for heaven's sake! ![]() 2. Again, unless you are literally cutting out the pounds of fat with a knife from your body, there is no way for you to rid yourself of 1lb of body weight per day. Watch the videos to learn this yourself. ![]() |

Kobojunkie:Fam, you should educate yourself before calling other people liars. I am telling you this from experience. I've done it. Been finding ways to lose weight fast since I had to make weight before matches in high school for wrestling. Of course as I said, it's mainly water weight. But the ~1 pound a day I generally keep off. You really don't know what you are talking about. Here is a google AI search:

ijebosb:Here's a challenge for you. Go post this supposed evidence of yours on Reddit and come back to tell us, or better yet share a link so we can follow the conversation. Here on Nairaland, you can easily fool people who are not aware but people on Reddit are certainly more informed and can better scrutinize your claim. ![]() |
| Re: Cook In Your Kitchen, Take Pictures And Post It Here. SIMPLE! by ijebosb: 1:49am On Mar 12, 2025 |
Kobojunkie:Don't need to. I don't speak unless I do my own research or have real world experience. This case I have both. But nothing stops you. Why don't you post whatever you think on reddit and post the link so we can watch everyone tell you you are wrong. You are stuck in what you think you know and in the presence of contrary info, that you can easily google, you still can't adjust. Not a healthy way to learn, grow or be. Again, it is possible for him to have "lost" the weight he claims (I'm not claiming that I know he did). A part of what he "lost" is water weight, some part of which will come back. Since you like Reddit so much here is one such post. There are tons. 1 week of Water Fasting (178lbs -> 165.6lbs) https://www.reddit.com/r/intermittentfasting/comments/1g0lxdz/my_weight_before_during_and_after_a_7_day_fast/ |

ijebosb:Storyland! 🙄🙄🙄 When I said post it on Reddit and mentioned we should seek more informed contributions, I meant people whose claims were backed by research-backed evidence, not more unverified opinions of claims such as the one we have here. 😩😩😩 |

Kobojunkie:Truthfully, I don't care what you expected. I posted to correct the misinformation that you posted here. I'm on firm scientific ground, you are not. Don't be that person. The information is free. Google it. There are tons of peer reviewed studies on water diets/fasting and how much weight people lose. Here is one: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8951503/ If reading/understanding them is what is giving you a hard time that you need Reddit to filter them for you, there are also tons of articles discussing these studies and even more articles discussing why people initially can/do lose so much weight. Here is a snippet of an article discussing one study: (And in this study there was an average weight loss amongst the participants of 5.7kg for a week or ~12.56 pounds in 7 days). Scientists at Queen Mary University of London monitored 12 healthy volunteers taking part in a week-long water fast and tracked changes in the levels of 3,000 proteins in their blood.I'm not derailing the thread further on this. Spend some more time reading and less calling people liars because you are uninformed. |
