chai! Omo! No be small thing.
Many people are not thinking about that.
Wife and children don't know anything than to just provide what they need.
Lols, if you dont play your games well too or you got a selfish woman as a wife, she will likely make your kids think you are not productive and gain their emotions. So a Man must be a Man in his home inorder to have a successful marriage after some years...

And while running around for our families, let us Men, take good care of ourselves as well...

Also try to build relationships, select good friends around you, and build your empire from there...

Life is a bit soft with good friends abeg...

Is not easy as well but those that know their God,they will always see the difference...

The IRONY of life is when those who were married are filing for divorce and are separating while those who are not married yet want to marry at all costs.....

What one single room goes for 400k per annum??
My brother that's the most contradicting irony of life that is still confusing me till today.

The question is not if you CAN.

Of course you can. You can do whatever you want as long as it isn’t illegal.

The main thing is Will the woman agree? WHICH WOMAN WILL AGREE TO GET MARRIED AND COME LIVE IN AN APARTMENT WHERE THE TOILET IS SHARED ?

That is the question.

If you find such a woman or of your girlfriend is looking beyond the inconvenience then verify that she isn’t desperate for some reason. If she isn’t desperate then she will be a keeper if she knows the challenges and chooses to stay with you, all other things being favorable.
The man doesn't have any issues with the apartment. He is even happy. But the woman is the one that will scatter everything atlast. She may agree to manage with him,but if he doesn't upgrade she will start misbehaving, that's the nature of women.
Re: Should I Marry In A Single Room? by Testimony1988(m): 3:38pm On Mar 13, 2025
No problem with that, a woman who loves will accept to stay with you in this room.

Re: Should I Marry In A Single Room? by Love800(m): 3:45pm On Mar 13, 2025
Okay.

The salary in the north is paid according to their price of commodities. Their goods are cheaper there, so no need for higher incomes because they can still afford to buy foodstuff and goods with it.

Here in the south, your salary depends on your qualifications, department in the job and if the company is large enough to pay big sums of salary. Low pay is a norm here too.
Tonytonex:
Off course, I'm not. I've been in the north so I know what you are saying is truth. I just want to know the difference in the salary structure. Cause some people are still paying 20,25K salary in a month with full chest and boldness. In the north

I am starting to get myself together financially after 5 years of struggle. I recently rented an apartment, its a single room in a three storey building but it's downstairs, very spacious and I have to share toilet and bathroom with the security.I initially wanted to get an apartment in ikorodu or mowe ibafo but considering the nature of my job it would be too stressful for me.

It's cost me 400k to get the room and I plan furnishing it,getting a flat screen television and at least a sofa. I already have a big bed. I believe i will be able to do the rest this year by God's grace.

Getting accommodation in Lagos is too hard and I think planning to get another bigger apartment would take another two years Or more I am tired of plotting and planning again as time is going, we dey age everyday so I just want to stick with this one get settle down here and rather plan building my own house from here instead.

I have not hinted my girlfriend about the plan yet so I would like to hear advise from the more experienced people here.

Re: Should I Marry In A Single Room? by nwirinedu(m): 3:53pm On Mar 13, 2025
Why not. You think the men posting mansions now were like that 30 years ago? Imagine a girl from a slum wanting to live in a mansion overnight, if she could endure her father mud house why cant she enjoy your single room?

Re: Should I Marry In A Single Room? by Fantazy(m): 3:57pm On Mar 13, 2025
Is this the picture of the room? Cos according to your explanation; you haven’t gotten chairs or tv yet
Re: Should I Marry In A Single Room? by tobstarizhia(m): 4:01pm On Mar 13, 2025
NO. Try and make money to get at least a mini flat
Re: Should I Marry In A Single Room? by RillJ(m): 4:03pm On Mar 13, 2025
You are good to go.

Get married.
Probably have your first kid here but stay focused on getting your own building.

I have colleagues that rented plush apartments, paying huge sums as rent. They earn good money but many of them still do not own personal property (house) after years.

Meanwhile, house rental cost keep skyrocketing. In some places, it cost up to 4m per yearly for a 3br flat.

Let no one tell you Mowe, Ikorodu etc is backward that you should aim at getting property at better locations. If you get a property in Ikorodu, Mowe etc today, it doesn't stop your from relocating when your finances improve. A woman ready to marry you in one room will appreciate you more when you eventually make her a landlady. Today I often jokingly call my wife landlady because I know how we started.

Go with your plans man, and may God be with you all the way.

Do not marry because you feel others are diving into it... Marry because you are ready and have find love

Useku:
Do not be in a hurry to marry while living in a room apartment,it's "desteezing".

Fight to be a bit more stable, get a 2br in a regular neighbourhood, get a car and then buy either half or full plot of land, put a foundation on it.

Never reason marriage,if u haven't settled urself.

You can be excused only if you are 35 already,if not, settle ursef first ,before marriage.

If nothing dey attractive about u in marriage, woman fit let u down anytime. But if all these dey in place any woman wey fuvk up,will be replaced immediately
Solid advice.

It's good to think of starting a family early. But sharing a toilet and bathroom with the security man and you wanna get married?
Will your wife also be sharing that toilet with the security man?
You better think twice before you go get case of security man bumping unto madam in the toilet and ...
Good luck making a decision.
