The tax reforms bill is not perfect as what was proposed but it's better than what was in place before .

That's the power of negotiations,no one can have it all .
For those who actually understand the intent and contents of the tax reform bills, this is the most intelligent post so far on this thread.

Kudos, HydraFeeds!

I thought you guys said the bill won't be passed?

Una don quick dey change mouth.. hahahah
the original text of the bill was not passed.
This was adjusted after negotiations with the North. Its of no use the Tinubu wanted it as of the first one.

It would ve been cancelled by Tinubu. But Just for Tinubu to save face and massage his hungry poor supporters ego like you. He had to still pass something.

You are bitter and ignorant

Once a bill is passed it becomes law.

If there is anything that is inconsistent with the constitution it will be redacted and the rest of the law will stand

What is the position of the constitution

Go and look and the Judgment of the Appeal Court on the VAT in the case of Rivers state vs the Federal Government

Has that judgment been reversed? What does it say?

Very soon your eye go clear you go know who dey play who

Once the bill is signed Rivers state and Lagos state will remind them of that judgment

Illiterate but I thought your Almajiri wanted the status quo to remain grin. The VAT sharing which they depended on based on population has been reduced in the new tax, the VAT on derivation has also been increased. Which is a departure from the current VAT sharing formula and you come here talking ignorantly like a typical dumbo that you are. Stop lying to make yourself happy. Tinubu wanted 60% derivation 20% population 20% equity. The reps passed 50% equity, 30% derivation 20% population. Tinubu wanted wanted 10% progress to 15%. Reps passed 7.5%. They removed inheritance tax, hiring consultants etc

Too focused on using our taxes for more luxuries for himself and his cronies while the rest of us wallow in jobless extreme poverty and national debt to be paid forever.

That looks like Satan's profile.

chisomkachy:
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s first supplementary budget includes a fleet of SUVs for himself and his wife, a presidential yacht and the renovation of his villa amid a cost-of-living crisis for some of the poorest people in the world.

The proposal — which seeks additional funding beyond the annual budget approved by Tinubu’s predecessor — comes as the government asks Nigerians to persevere through pain caused in part by a raft of economic reforms ushered in by the new president. Africa’s most populous country faces rampant unemployment, soaring food prices and a plummeting currency.

Federal lawmakers approved the president’s request for extra spending on Thursday, but eliminated the provision of 5 billion naira ($6.01 million) to buy a presidential yacht. Instead, they doubled the allocation to a student loan fund to 10 billion naira, according Abubakar Bichi, chairman of an appropriations committee in the House of Representatives.

The lawmakers approved 1.5 billion-naira proposed to purchase SUVs for the office of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu — an amount larger than that allocated to many individual federal colleges. The supplementary budget also proposes almost 6 billion naira to purchase SUVs for the presidency — more than the amount initially allocated to fund a student loan program for poor families.

Can you see how buffoonish you sound. Why can't you reduce the derivation back to 20 or 15%?. Why did you allow an increase in states derivation by 10%?, don't you know what 10% increase means to the states?. I thought your noise will shut it down completely grin
As VAT increase was suspended at 7.5%, ( which wasn't even their bone of contention) that's what I thought your Northern noisemakers will also suspend any derivation that will reduce the collection on population which is the fraud used in getting more money and also stop states derivation from being increased. Illiterate boy.

Where Are The Cows? Is Evans A Herdsman?'

When Funke Olakurin, daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti was murdered instead of Bola Tinubu to make sure that the perpetrators were brought to book, he ended up making fun of the death of the young lady by turning everything into tribalism by showing his hates for Igbos.

Tinubu has never spoken against the deadly activities of Fulani herdsmen across the country

Mrs Olakunrin died of gunshot wounds in July 2019 after her vehicle was attacked by armed men, suspected to be marauding Fulani bandits whose violent activities had reached a frightening level across the southwest states.

Those arrested suspects include Lawal Mazaje, 40, from Felele area of Kogi State; Adamu Adamu, 50, from Jada area of Adamawa State; Mohammed Usman, 26, from Illela area of Sokoto State and Auwal Abubakar, 25, from Shinkafi area of Zamfara State....

However, the leader of the team, identified only as Tambaya, and three others are yet to be found.

Tambaya has been declared wanted by the police and he is said to be capable of communicating in Hausa, Fulfude and Pidgin English.

This is the chance for Lagos and Rivers to talk, once a new tax bill is passed, that's the end of the Rivers and Lagos case in court.

States won't be keeping anything from the VATs they generate according to this bill passed by the house of rep.

I wander why lawmakers from states generation huge VATs are not fighting to get more
