I won't be surprised if all the pipelines in the area started going up in flames courtesy those creek boys.
hope that us not what you are sitting in ur home praying for the death of civilians. Bcus that's the major reason why state of emergency is declared to prevent further disruption of Govt property which will likely result in deaths of militants and civilians if it continues. So know what you wish for

I don't know why Yorubas hate SS like this.

You left Zamafara, left Benue, left Katsina and other Northern states ravaged by bandits just to declare state of emergency in Rivers in less than 24 hours.

Southern Nigeria indeed.
The president is from the south and won’t fold his hands and let that happen in the south.
You should blame Buhari for not declaring state of emergency in the northern states you mentioned.

He should be out in the creeks as a newly recruited militant! Previously he told the boys to await instructions! Sadly he is not headed for leadership in the creeks as he lacks the balls for that!! The red biro has fallen of his shaky fingers! Boys will show him who be Oga for creeks!!

I don't think it is really about hate, but all about political interest. If fubara had crossed to APC, we will not be witnessing all of these. Everything happening now is preparation towards 2027. If they don't get fubara out, he is going to work against APC come 2027, i believe that is what this is all about.

This is not a case of hatred at all. Let us not jump on the tribalism wagon at every small opportunity. Was it not a Yoruba man that appointed SS as FCT Minister for the first time in history?

While I can say that the State of Emergency declaration may be a but too early, there are clearly grounds for the declaration. At least 2 cases of oil pipeline explosions have been recorded within 24 to 48 hours following threats by militants supportive of Fubara and Fubara didn't dissociate himself from the threats or warn against it. So it his clear that Fubara may not be able to effectively carry out his role as Chief Secueity Officer of the State.

You mention Benue, Kaduna and other Northern States. The truth is that those States are not as strategic economically to the country like Rivers State. When pipelines and oil installations get blown, it directly affects the National Revenue from crude oil and cannot be ignored, unlike banditry that is largely localized to the area experiencing the challenge.

Would the State of Emergency stop pipelines from getting blown?

Did they investigate to know who blew the pipelines? What if it's Wike loyalists that blew it up just to hasten Declaration of state of emergency?

I can't imagine Sim's state of mind right now. He will be full of regret for the day he accepted to be Wike's imposter in the government's house. The battle really choked him.
I wish him succuor!
He accepted the conditions Wike gave him to become the governor of the state and reneged. Since he knew those conditions are too much for him to take, he should have declined the offer to be governor and have his peace jeje. Imagine fighting your benefactor one month into power, that is absurd. He should have waited for the second term before making some moves, sometimes native intelligence is required. Though Wike also has his own share of the blame. Why will you nominates all the commissioners, chairmen and all political office holders for Rivers State executive without the governor having an input? Your actions means you want to turn the governor to a dummy one, a governor without executive power, that is unfair.

Dogalmighty17:
Tinubu seriously goofed. He blames the governor for the bombing of pipelines saying that the governor made no moves to stop the bombings and that he didn't request for help.

But the DSS which is an intel gathering agency is not answerable to the governor. If the DSS failed to identify threats to the pipelines, how is that Fubara's fault?

Futhermore, Tinata is a contractor currently engaged by the federal government to protect pipelines. If Tinata failed to do their jobs, why is that on Fubara?

Wike has spent the past several days making highly inflammatory statements. The same Wike still sits in the federal executive council meetings and has not been called to order.

This crisis, potentially escalatory as it is, could have long been contained. Never in the history of Nigeria, has a minister under the employ of the federal government, proceeded to make his state ungovernable for the sitting governor the way Wike has.

This brings the question, what does Wike have on Tinubu? There is no way this ends well for Tinubu in 2027. Wike has burned too many bridges. At this point he is too much of a liability to anyone.

Today's events are a shameful turn. It calls into question Tinubu's supposed political sagacity and acumen.
This is very flawed and you sound half-informed.
Listen to the President’s speech again and see where he pointed out the constitutional principles that supported his decision or are thinking he made those pronouncements without consulting the law?. Firstly, he didn’t order the emergency rule only because Fubara couldn’t stop the bombing but because of the FACTS that threats were made earlier and those who made the threats were obviously standing in solidarity with the governor and just like the naive baby politician that he is, he didn’t distance himself from them and didn’t condemn the threat up until when they carried them out. Secondly, the constitution emphatically states that in a situation where there is a rancor between any of the 3 arms of government in a State such that one stops the others from functioning, under the laws of the land, it means there is no GOVERNMENT in such a State and it’s the President who has the authority to fill the government void. In elementary English, You can’t rule a State as a governor without an active Legislative arm.
Thirdly, why are you emergency lovers of Fubara suddenly sounding as if the declaration affected only Fubara? The President grounded all the parties involved just like an elderly person would do without taking sides (beat the two children fighting) but you’re all sounding like he suspended only the Governor (executive) while pampering the second party (legislature)
We all know the reason behind all this wailing and crying but the President did what he was supposed to do and that was actually so Presidential of him because no country’s President would sit down and watch on while his country’s economy is burnt down by some ragtag miscreants.

The actual root and history has been addressed to avoid typical lies and propaganda by the bitter ones.

A Yoruba man made Jonathan the vice president. Yorubas led the agitation that rescued Jonathan from Turai Yaradua's kitchen and made him substantive president when the cabal refused to allow him. Yorubas voted him to become president. You should first ask Jonathan why he betrayed his ONE TERM agreement with the North, not Yorubas grin .
Not only even that, he sidelined Yorubas in his govt, top 6 position, no Yoruba man. Where were Igbos when Yorubas was conversing him to be V. President n later president, he got there and igbos poison his mind. Who bits the hand that feed it. And instead of nzogbu politics Yoruba restrategize n igbo said Yorubas are inconsequential that their support is enough. Now, that reality set in, they r selling imaginary enemity within the sw n good people of southwest. Yorubas put the SS in number one postition in the first place

If I am the governor by now 70% of house members will be on my side...it will like take one month allocation. Instead he kept spending money on useless people that doesn't matter. Buy the members one after the other.

River indigene hate u people for ethnic cleansing against them during the war.
Very misleading headline. I searched for the story and read through it, the people were marking the anniversary of the war. Rivers state was part of Biafra and so couldn’t have been besieged by the Biafran forces, they were rather bombed twice by the Nigerian forces which is the premise for their Remembrance Day.
Also, majority of Rivers state indigenes are Igbos ( especially the upland people), they bear Igbo names, speak Igbo, practice Igbo culture (those in self-denial notwithstanding). So if they hate the Igbos, how do they distinguish between the core SE Igbos from themselves because the names are identical? How do they know exactly where and whom to channel their hate to?
Do you now realise the folly of that assertion?
Yoruba propaganda are falling flat on their faces. Also, your greatest mistake is to assume that SS people love the Yorubas, never have, never will. Your attachment to the SS begins and ends on the pages of your propaganda newspaper. You guys are pure ev1l and full of lies.

The fact that the threat of blowing pipelines came from militants supporting Fubara and Fubara did not speak out to dissociate himself from it says a lot. He is the Chief Security Officer of the State and should know better.
