giselle237:@giselle237 Many thanks for your contribution and the from the angle you came through. I think the home ties perspective makes sense for the refusal. What would you advise we do next to avoid another refusal. This is not a japa plan honestly, it's just an honest tourism trip and we plan to be back after a week or so. I also have enough funding to cater for our trip(more than the 5k mentioned earlier). My worry is my wife's bank balance. |

canadaman18:You are welcome. They can include interest earned as additional income/savings. Not monthly income as the interest most likely varies from month to month. |

mzMerci:Mine was vfs Abuja, passport was dispatched since Friday afternoon but no tracking number provided. I have called the number on their website but it doesn’t seems to go through. |

Veyy:Bring all your savings, deposit them in your bank accounts in Nigeria and run your accounts for a few months before you apply. Also, you need to convince the visa officer that you have a source of income in Nigeria. That should be your biggest concern now.... What will you say you do in Nigeria? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 9:58am On Mar 18, 2025 |
Ayodele20484:5000 usd is not enough funding for the trip for 3 people as the ECO also takes into cognisance that you need money when you return from your trip as well. You are not expected to finish all your money on a vacation- they will not grant such a visa. |

Good Day house, I applied with my husband (family application) to visit UK. I stood as the family sponsor (I have enough money to sponsor us both) We didn't submit my husband's acct statement, we only submitted pay slips. When the decision came back, I was granted, while my husband was denied on the basis that even if I am sponsoring the family, he should still have presented his statement to show his financial status in Nigeria. When he applies again, we will attach that. However, I wanted to ask if I can still stand as a sponsor? |

Good day Gurus in the house Pls I need answer to this question The two dependent I use in my previous visa about ten years ago,but these dependent were not living with me anymore,if I did not include them in my next application,I hope it will not cause issues? Then do I need explain why I did not include. 2) can I use new dependent in my next application which I did not use 10yrs ago was. my last application? As Anyone remove dependent before? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 9:33am On Mar 19, 2025 |
onile1975:Doesn't matter. You can add and remove dependants as your personal circumstances change. For instance, your children may no longer be your dependants once they are adults and are working. Your parents may no longer be your dependants if they are now abroad and living with one of your siblings. It is not a big deal at all. Just be honest with your individual applications and you will be fine. Good luck! |

Cashmadam:Cashmadam thanks for ur response Pls I want you to help me look into my financial aspect. For my business, I use my business name to register for P.O.S machine, all the cash we make from selling phones were use to run P.O.S business. But monthly I use to transfer 2.5millions naira to my personal account, from personal account I use to buy markets of 2.2millions by transfer every month, and I use to withdraw 300k by cash for living expenses every month. I use my personal account cos I want to have clean account for the visa,if I use P.O.S account, it has a lot of transactions from unknown sources.any money I transfer to my personal account will show my company name as the source of the funds. Will I be fine if I use my personal account to apply for the visa application? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 1:35pm On Mar 19, 2025 |
onile1975:Yes, you can and should use your personal account for the visa application. You may also include your business account - to prove that you have a legitimate source of income. However, is it possible for you to buy your goods through your business account - not your personal account? You have not fully seperated your personal and business accounts if you continue to buy your goods through your personal account. It is important that you fully seperate the accounts to avoid issues. I hope this helps. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by onile1975: 2:28pm On Mar 19, 2025 |
Cashmadam:Thanks for your quick response You no I said I use business account for P.O.S if I submit my P.O.S statement of account,as my business account 1) six months statement will be up to 200pages 2) there will be a lot of transactions like 1k, 2k, 5k, 9k which those not represent the price of iPhone and Android phones that was ur commodities we sold to customers. So u no this can cause issues for my application |

davodyguy:Thanks for your reply. But I am not sure if foreigners without permanent residence are allowed to do so. I only have temporary residence at the moment. Because I wrote to Ireland embassy some time ago, they said foreigners are adviced to go back to their respective home country to apply. So I don't know if UK will do same. But I will keep trying to get in touch with the UK embassy here, while I continue to go through all this trend till then shaa. Thank you. |

onile1975:- it is a business account so such transactions are expected. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by davodyguy: 3:06pm On Mar 19, 2025 |
Veyy:As Cashmadam said, in order not to waste funds, you need to be grounded in Nigeria, make money in Nigeria for at least 6 months to be able to apply from Nigeria. It is best to apply from where you have spent the last 6 months |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 3:30pm On Mar 19, 2025*. Modified: 3:46pm On Mar 19, 2025 |
Veyy:Temporary residence is fine. My first UK visit visas were gotten when I was a temporary resident in another country. UK allows you to apply from that location. However cash in hand jobs with no paper identification of your income source is a big problem and will not be overlooked. Make no mistake about that. |

Good morning Retired parent didn’t submit a bank statement as part of their last visit visa application that was granted. Should they submit one now for renewal? No council tax bill, does an electricity bill suffice as proof of address? Thank you @justwise @cashmadam |

Can someone assist with VFS Ikeja contact number. I applied for visit visa for my mother in-law. Biometric done on the 25/02/2025. I reached out to ukvi via paid mail and I was told that decision as been made seen 12/03/2025. VFS Ikeja didn't provide any delivery details after I was debited twice for DHL delivery. No update on application. I tried reaching +2348070199993 but to no avail. |
