This ChatGPT. You guys should stop this over reliance on AI, even in little issues.
If it bothers you, feel free to commit suicide. Even your family will celebrate your exit.

At last, I did not have to consult AI to know how to tell you to go and kill yourself. Useless bastard. Get lost, kid.

It sounds like you've had a fascinating encounter with someone who was trying to be friendly, but only because of your apparent success and possessions. The fact that she was awkward and struggling to find things to say, while also admiring your 4Runner, suggests that she was more interested in your status than in genuinely getting to know you.

Your observation that people often treat you differently when they perceive you as successful is quite astute. It's unfortunate that some individuals will only show interest in you because of what they can gain from you, rather than valuing you as a person.

Your decision to be cautious and use people to your advantage is understandable, given your experiences. However, it's also important to remember that not everyone will treat you this way. There are still genuine people out there who will appreciate you for who you are, regardless of your possessions or status.

It's interesting that you mention learning to snub people and use them to your advantage. While this may be a necessary survival strategy in some cases, it's also important to maintain your integrity and treat others with respect, even if they don't always deserve it.
People are people bro. Especially Nigerians. No true love and I have mastered that act myself. I honestly don't care anymore.

The only people who may love you truly are your father, mother, brother, sister, son or daughter. I use the word 'may' ooo. Because some of them do not even truly love you.

But apart from these 6 people, every other person is a pretender. Extremely shallow and artificial display of love, including even your Spouse.

I've got a lots of episodes... I really wish I could send a voice note instead. It ranges from domestic violence with his wife, physical confrontation with other property owners in the street and blaring extremely loud music. Maybe when I fence my house, it'll reduce.

Like he has this big outdoor speaker that are meant for outreach but he uses to pray in the night and the noise is disturbing me....he does this in early hours of 4am to 6am. This is my first time coming across someone that uses microphone in-house at that early hours. I tot it ends with music untill i met this. Please what should I do

Report him to the nearest Police station. They know what to do. Don't approach him directly.

Those people are crack heads, and such you match fire for fire, if I'm the one, I will just talk ones, (not shout o) And if they refuse to be reasonable, I'll wait till 11pm, I'll bring out my party speakers, fuel my gen, put on some hard metal collection, Plug in my ear protection unit and have an all night party, do this for a week and watch how sense will fall on them.
Just to give you update, the fire for fire approach worked.

You need some level of abnormality to deal with abnormal people. Sharply they cautioned their children.

Living with unfriendly neighbors can be challenging and stressful. Some common issues people face include:
- Noise complaints: Excessive noise or disputes over noise levels can create tension.
- Boundary disputes: Conflicts over property lines, shared spaces, or encroaching vegetation can be frustrating.
- Lack of respect: Neighbors who disregard personal space or property can make living situations uncomfortable.

If you're experiencing difficulties with your neighbors, it might be helpful to:
- Communicate openly: Try to address issues directly and respectfully with your neighbors.
- Seek mediation: If direct communication doesn't work, consider seeking mediation from a neutral third party.
- Document incidents: Keep a record of incidents, including dates, times, and details of what happened.

I think adults can and should always set boundaries. It is not compulsory to befriend them, you can just have a cordial relationship with them because they are human beings and hopefully, there is a payback day when you need it. The human mind is strange, people collect deposits of what you have done to them and it can motivate them to act when it is time to do so.

We can't live this world alone. Some personalities like to be alone but we still need some bit of social interaction to survive in this world. Some of those neighbours, like you rightly said, only want access to you. Some of them want to establish dominance. Some of them behave like they are the landlords. Some of them who are older than you want you to respect them. There are all sort of things people do, those are their insecurities and it has nothing to do with you if you don't enterain it. People should just draw boundaries and that's it.

I will be who I want to be and I will only give you what I want to give you of my life. I will be nice to you as a human being, as my neighbour, as my NLer but my niceties have limits. Those are my boundaries, respect yourself and I respect you too.
You have said it all. Man is a social being and is not designed to live in isolation. Even lower animals live in groups. I understand the need for privacy and stoicism, but it is wise for people to have at least one neighbour who would serve as a go-to person, one person in the community who is in the medical field in case of medical emergencies and one security personnel in case of a security breach. These friendships may prove useful in the future. Note that boundaries can still be defined and maintained even whilst forming these friendships so one doesn't have to go against his or her tenets.

No matter what your neighbors is your first aid or saviour in time of emergency. Try to live amicably with them even if they are not friendly, to me God knows why he is closest to you as a neighbor.

I planted a tree in my compound you won't believe my neighbor cut it down not that it is even disturbing him or close to our boundary, when I confronted him lo and behold he told me he doesn't like trees close to houses.
Though I have been noticing him doing fetish things all around his house but still I still maintain my relationship with him. Now he is the one giving me water because he just dug borehole, so no matter what try to live amicably with them.
I hope you are not spiritually trading something for water? Maybe you should dig up your own borehole or a well.

Most of the people typing above will suddenly become friendly if the Neighbor parks a Range Rover in the compound. Nigerians are friendly based on your perceived level of success and what they think they might gain from you.
Over a decade ago, I used to attend this church and there is this family that are very successful and snub everyone in the church. They would never associate or talk to anyone perceived to be in a lower class.
Me, I was driving a Camry at the time as a normal young man.

I made some money, bought me a very recent, clean, black Toyota 4runner, immediately I parked in the church, this woman looked up, rushed and greeted me. This was a woman that would never even acknowledge my existence before o.

When you are very successful, most of your Nigerian Neighbors will be friendly forget all the crap people typed above me .
Me. I am the most unfriendly neighbor you will ever have as I lovd total privacy and silence.
You can still achieve total privacy and serenity even whilst being quite friendly with your neighbours. The key is defining your limits and ensure it is not encroached on. To avoid gossips, deploy the cliffhanger technique and you'd be good.

Okay so after we have been coming out and f our flat downstairs to caution them even in the middle of the night and they ignore.
Their Dad came around from obodo in november, still no better improvement okay then still no sleep from our own end.

We reported to agent this January, she was shocked she said even with their father around, she talked to the wife, she come dey carry face for me loool, the agent woman kept on apologizing to me especially since she knew I just had a newborn, imagine the trauma of some untrained children waking up a baby every interval.

They now crossed the line , they began to wake my baby with the vibrations and it was the trigger to go gangstar. It will be in the afternoon that one is trying to catch some sleep after waking all night they will now start, imagine that as a nursing mother.

Seeing that we have done all we could do rationally we now went gangster. You know that round cylindrical aluminium stuff they use for tank stand we had some left over in the compound once the children start playing ball and running up and down, just hit the decking from our side the whole place will vibrate , if they run at night na the same gbigi they will hear, little by little they stopped for like a week o, .
One night like that when the children started na so we did our own the woman shouted, I said ehen now you are feeling small small.

One Sunday like that the son wanted to start in master room oya gbigi sharply

Next thing the father ran downstairs and calmly knocked at our door , his hand was shaking maybe he has health issues I dunno. I answered and he said he wanted to speak with my husband , grin .

He now started explaining ehn that he said his son should go and sweep the room and he heared gbim again, he had torn their ball after the agent talked and they now rolled nylon again blehbleh bleh, that he has banned them from going to the master bedroom what's our own na you born pikin wey no dey listen.

And then my husband calmly explained all that had happened how he had cautioned them and that he's a remote worker, gave him the times his children always start the nonsense , past 4 when they comeback from school 10pm -1am at night, playing football in the whole whole upstairs sometimes in the kitchen , sometimes start playing ball as early as 6am in the morning Holiday season no rest at all because of them consistent running for hours on the decking . so it is only a response and hope he knows it will affect him too when we start.

He was trying to deflect ehn they are your children bleh bleh, for where person knows the number of pikin wey him born oo.

The man now said he never saw it from that angle he just felt why were we hitting them, ehn now that you know, that is it. I can't beat another person's children and I can't curse them and they don't listen to caution from everyone so what should we do?

For 2years we have endured, he had insomnia at some point because of your children.

He was now like we should live in peace as we are all Christians ( ehen so his own Christianity no reach Christian conduct and character) typical to deflect to religion when caught.

He said my husband shd pls give him number so if they misbehave he can call him to tell him, (lool so I will be calling you every time they disturb abi iro nla.)

Just about 2weeks they couldn't bear what we bore for 2 years. Came down to negotiate.

All through the holiday season
Small sallah
Easter
Children holidays infact since late January no nonsense even as those children were around not even pim. They comported sharply .They tried once and received warning shot their parent were shouting their name to stop.

Na Una born pikin wey no dey hear word. Children between around 16-10 years.

I will not bear the consequences of another person's parenting failure. Keep your nonsense to yourselves .shikena

Very quiet street, you will be hearing their noise from far.

One lesson I learnt though parents should train children very well if not na dem go embarrass the parent.

So if not for the bazooka they are receiving they won't conduct their children properly.
I don't even know where landlord went to see those people.

Honestly you need some cray to deal with some folks.

If they do anyhow they and their parents will see anyhow.
