Hello everyone,

Please for those that did long term visit visas 2 years and above, did you do TB test?

Nope TB Test is not for Visiting Visa because on a Visit visa you can not spend longer than 6 months at a time even when u re granted 10 years visitng Visa

Thanks because I saw a mention of it under the longer visit visa in the gov website but I suppose it should be for medical and academic visits that are about 11-12 months.

Thanks a lot !

Gurus in the house, please advise me on I can do in this situation:

1.) is over 3 weeks now I went for my biometric at vfs.
2.) purpose of traveling (to attend a week conference) is in just a week time.

Meaning I just have a week for every other preparation for travel, yet I have not received any decision from embassy.

Can someone assist with VFS Ikeja contact number. I applied for visit visa for my mother in-law. Biometric done on the 25/02/2025. I reached out to ukvi via paid mail and I was told that decision as been made seen 12/03/2025. VFS Ikeja didn't provide any delivery details after I was debited twice for DHL delivery. No update on application. I tried reaching +2348070199993 but to no avail.
Please any success yet with the vfs ikeja contact... I'm in the same exact shoe, I am very far from the center to go ask for my passport to know if it's there yet.
If u have gotten the contact please share

If you have received a Visa decision from UKVI, it takes about two to three working days before VFS gets your passport.
It may take shorter, but that's what I've observed so far.

Also, it's almost impossible to contact VFS Ikeja, the best option is to go there physically. You can try this email, but they're slow to respond: customercare@vfsglobal.com

As long as it was issued about the time of the child’s birth then you should not get any inquest from UKVI. Even if they ask it would basically be about providing more supporting information.
If you want to issue the birth certificate today/years after child’s birth- you would get an NSF to ascertain why.

If the UK visa case officer request for more document after application, what is an estimated days or weeks it will take to get a decision. It's been 2 weeks since the requested document was sent to them

Hello Guys,

Please i need input here. I applied for my mum's visa and got refusal but the reason just doesn't sit well with me.

Please find the refusal letter below:

Firstly no way 5,000,000 is £9k.

Secondly , My mum was a trader and this is genuine. There's no pension or credit to her account i explained this in the cover letter. Mentioned she was a retired self employed woman and all.

Lastly the 5m is genuine as i send her roughly 100k every week because of situation of things in the country. This can be seen in the bank statement

Hi Gurus in the house

My friend from nigeria wants to apply for a visit visa to visit me in the uk.

She’s a registered business owner, we have arranged for her to commence paying herself salary from the business account into her personal account for the next couple of months. We settled for #800,000 per month into a separate salary account with #100,000 being the monthly expenditure.

She sells clothing & leather footwear . Is the monthly income realistic please ? What evidence is also sufficient for this asides bank statements

What tips can anyone give us so we get this at the first try as she does not have any travel history

There are certain things you can't explain. This is a very simple mistake on your part. The visa was almost issued.

All that was needed was evidence of retirement. Isn't her job a pensionable one? No letter shows retirement from the place she worked?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by adecoal: 5:51pm On Mar 26, 2025
Like I mentioned. My mum was a trader selling stuff in the market. There was no pension. We only asked her to stop working as she started to age.

In the future, it's important to refrain from mislabeling/mischaracterizing situations as Nigerians. … we do this a lot.
In this case, your mom could at best be said to be unemployed, not a retiree. As has been clearly stated in the refusal letter— being termed as a "retired" individual comes with certain expectations.
1. A retiree should be receiving retirement payments or at least be able to provide proof of their past employment, along with relevant documentation showing when and why they ceased working, such as official retirement letters or evidence of retirement plans.
2. Your claims don’t align with the status of a retiree—- they are expected to have a set retirement income and proof of their past job.

I am confused how someone who has been advised by their children to stop trading as a market trader could somehow be equated to a retiree. Is this possible? The claim that she has an annual income of 5 million from her retirement made it even more confusing for them.
The entire situation was unnecessarily complicated by you. The statements you mentioned appear to be more of a diversion or a way to deflect from the actual facts to get the visa. Apologies if not.
In summary, I am not sure anyone can argue here on this platform that the ECOs are at fault.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by adecoal: 6:46pm On Mar 26, 2025
Thank you but in all honesty There’s no deflection I was only stating the situation as it is. It is a case of mislabeling a situation at best case which is what I have taken from what you said. Should probably have said unemployed. I do send her up to 5m yearly as claimed in form of 100k weekly. Which I mentioned in the cover letter was income from me. No other credits are in her account

I am planning to reapply but I don’t know if I should reapply immediately or wait till May then select unemployed. Also should I be addressing the reason for refusal in the cover letter by calling it out and explaining it?

You and your spouse are perhaps headstrong.
He was refused for not presenting his personal acct statement.. here again you are reapplying and still refusing to produce this and now claiming business account statement-
You know the right thing to do.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 10:40am On Mar 27, 2025
Work on producing evidence of her ties to Nigeria, including information about her spouse and children who will remain there. Gather documentation such as evidence of her former store or stall, and photos of her in the market, to demonstrate that her situation is genuine and not fabricated.
In the additional section of the form, address the reason for refusal by stating that it was an honest mistake related to the mislabeling of her situation or something sha. Also address that her children advised her to cease her self-employment, which she had successfully managed for many years. Highlight that she was one of the most well-known traders in the southeastern, southwestern, or northern region of Nigeria.
