Oluwabusolamiii:She should save for a while and have something substantial in her account. Documents pertaining to her business will help - sale receipts, evidence of good bought etc. First timers (especially self employed) have it tough so she should fill her form carefully and ask for help if she needs it. |

Hello everyone, Please does it matter to the ECO if one makes a visit visa application to visit family two weeks before intended travel date. |

It will take more than 2 wks for your visa to be ready, why not make your date like 3 wks to a month's time? SPDAZZY: |

Thank you for your response. We were/are both first time applicants. I am on this platform to gain knowledge on the right thing to do. I won't be here asking questions and wasting people's time if i "know the right thing to do" I am not refusing to present his personal statement, it's just that as advised on this platform, there are credits from multiple sources which is not advisable to use such an acct statement. Hence me saying "the personal acct is not in good state". giselle237: |

cc giselle237 cc cashmadam Thanks everyone in this thread for your sacrifice. Two weeks after attending a biometric appointment, a UK visa case officer requested additional documents. Now, 16 days after submitting those documents, how much longer will it take to receive a decision on the application? It's now 4 weeks since biometric |

Good day everyone, I need advice please to avoid making mistakes, I am going for a fully funded fellowship programme for a month in the UK and I have documents to support this. And I also stated it in my application form and cover letter, please do I still need to upload another account apart from my statement of account (salary account which shows salary from my employers)? Because they stated that " submit an account you have access to the funds" I will really appreciate a response 🙏🙏 Thank you |

emekee:I'm sure you will hear from them soon. They get busy at this time with Easter and Summer travellers applying for visas. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 4:53pm On Mar 28, 2025 |
emekee:Since you have no intention, does that mean you did not submit any documents? If yes, then most likely they have kept the applications until they receive this. It would be in your interest, to make their applications.. of so.. |

xeexee7:Hi @xeexee7, congratulations! Just trying to understand the process a bit better: For the 2nd application (which was successful), did you receive the decision letter via email, or was it just the collection mail from VFS? For the 1st application (which was refused), I assume you got the refusal letter by email—just confirming? I’ve received a collection mail for a family member, and we’re trying to decide if it’s safe to go ahead and book a flight before picking up the passport. Thanks in advance! |

giselle237:Thank you for your response. Please forgive for bothering again. Please clarify " ...they most likely have kept the applications until they received this"... do you mean the document they requested for? The document sent to the visa officer was a LETTER to clarify that the remaining children will remain with family member until the couple settle down, and another letter from the family member stating that they will take care of the children untill the couple can afford to apply for them when they get to the uk. The document they visa officer requested for was to confirm if/when the other dependants will be applying to join the applicant & her husband. |

Good evening everyone, please I made a mistake when paying for my TB test using the online transfer, instead of paying 142,205.50, I paid 142,158.00 and my appointment is on Thursday morning. Should I transfer an additional 50 Naira and go with both receipts? or is any other likely solution to this? cc: justwise giselle237 |

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Masorich: 4:06am On Mar 29, 2025 |
emmyvet:You only get a mail for refusal. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by eniola1010(m): 7:17am On Mar 29, 2025 |
Masorich:You get mail for both refusal and acceptance. However, for refusal, you also get an enclosed pdf stating why it was refused, for acceptance you just get a mail that a decision has been made, no pdf will be enclosed. |

Michellasilva:This is always posted on VFS website and the answer is yes All Public Holidays declared by Federal Government are work free days |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by crackcrack: 10:06am On Mar 30, 2025 |
Michellasilva:No, public holidays in Nigeria do not affect UKVI’s processing time. VFS won’t be open for submission or collection, but this has no bearing on UKVI’s processing of your application. |

Modupe1981:Put 5. Don't add months. See what happens. Alternatively, you can put 5 months. Start date will be your baby's date of birth. End date will be the date you filled the form I don't think there is anything else you can do unless someone with a similar experience can guide you. It might be better to use 5 months so it is not confused with 5 years. Let me know how it goes. Good luck |
