She's right, the money is enough to start a business without renting a shop. I don't know about other states but in Lagos, neighbourhood shops now go between 8-10k per month. Shops in busy areas, bus-stops and market places go for much higher and most landlords ask for 2 years rent upfront. The spending won't be on rent alone, she'll need to furnish the shop with chair, table, counters, shelves etc and make it look attractive to customers. She's only telling you the reality of things but you're here poverty shaming her. You strike me as the toxic abusive husband who will treat your wife like you're doing her a favour by marrying her. Fraud money has make alot of people lose there senses.

Anyone who say one 1m is small today is clearly into fraud.
No one with legitimate income will ever see 1m as small money despite whatever is happening currently in the current.

If she apply for 1million loan today for business does she no how much she will pay has interest.

See my brother we that understand value of money and how it pay to grow business aren't much.

Your response seems quite different why is that so? You didn't reason this way for the woman, this is the singular reason most women aren't are entitled and feels the society owe them but in actual sense they are adults who should be responsible and accountable for themselves, whatever they any gives.m should be a privelage and should come with a grateful heart.

I have observed that broke people who are entitled and don't see sacrifices people do for them don't usually successful even if they are given big amount. When i was broke if i see someone who will give me s million as a grant not even a loan i would literally worship that person for life, that i see more than that in a month now doesn't make it worthless for broke people to start with. There aare folks who will work to increase that amount by the end if the year. No one should despise gentle beginnings unfortunately some women will jettison the sacrifices of their partners because they feel they deserve more, a disadvantage of having a plethora of body count.....

I just picked something so important in your write up. If you really want to help her, get her a job.... That's a perfect advice, however, some ladies are so pompous that they would even tell you that they can't work under anybody.....

If you look at it as the OP said. I perceived this lady as a pompous lady here but the OP should tell her that he's getting her a job....there's a story of a guy I heard about that got his wife a job without the wife knowing that the salary they are paying her at her work place is coming from her husband. She was employed as Sales manager in a big bakery. She was seen as being lazy in her husband's house and the husband got so frustrated cos he's set her up severally in business but always failing. He got her a job in a bakery and had an agreement that he would be paying her salary but the management of the company shouldn't let anybody or his wife knows about this....he sent money to the bakery company before the month ends and did it consistently for about three years. He discovered that the wife became more business oriented, stop sleeping like a log of wood in the house. House became cleaner and she too became more responsible until after three 3 years when the man now revealed the truth to her. She has a bakery of her own today around Surulere in Lagos and doing so well too.......

Hope he has kicked her out before coming for discussion here o......Such a lady ain't fit to be in a man's life.....she would ruin him down....it's like pouring water inside a basket......and wouldn't even appreciate whatever the guy gives her......despite the fact that the economy is awful......1M is still a big money in Nigeria and you can do a lot of business with it and make profit.....You don't need a shop to do business as a woman......I know ladies that sell things from their houses through the phone and delivery bikes.....they don't own the delivery bikes also but al was system engage them when there's order.....some of these ladies started with far less money and they are making profit.......that lady ain't worth it.......1M....a whole One Million Naira...... 😂
