Anambra: Two APC Governorship Aspirants Step Down On Eve Of Primaries by Nemere2020(op): 9:47pm On Apr 04, 2025
Two Frontline APC Governorship aspirants have stepped down from the Guber race to hold tomorrow in Awka.

While Paul Chukwuma resigned from the Party entirely, Chuma Umeoji decided to toe the party line.

APC can't win election in the SE unless the approach used by Okorocha and Umahi is used. Else, it's an effort in futility.

Governor Peter Mbah is a very greedy and wicked man. As a leader of PDP in the whole of South East region why can't he purchase form for PDP aspirants in Anambra State.
Can't he organize a fund raising event with his influence?

If sick Nollywood actors can raise money for treatment then what stops the paper weight Governor from raising funds

That Ukachukwu is like Buhari and Atiku of Anambra, always running for position and never gets it. I remember him running for Anambra governor while I was still at Pre science Mbaukwu. Anambra people just like to dey chop his money and he too didn't seem like he had a good personality.

No way, no hope for APC in Anambra state. No Okorocha or Supreme Court matter there.

There are two mountains to climb which APC cannot do. The mountains are Professor Chukwuma Soludo / APGA and Mr. Peter Obi /LP.

So far, Soludo has been putting the round pegs in the round holes, but he has Labour Party to watch out for and not APC. The moment APC lost the late Ifeanyi Ubah, their best candidate who could have won his Senatorial zone was lost.

Labour Party controls reasonable chunk of Anambra state, even as APGA is in power. The two parties enjoy massive support, having completely relegated PDP. Valentine Ozigbo could have ridden on the popularity of Peter Obi to make his chances brighter. With APC, his chances are not to be reckoned with anymore. He probably was scared that the LP court issue would still linger. Now that LP has sorted that, the party will reposition itself to move forward.

Valentine all the way.

He will win ticket, but will likely loose to CCS

CCS is a good friend of the Abuja family and he has shown some workings, so his second term is secured.

Strategy for APC is to use Val to build momentum for 2027. If Val is patient and works hard, he will be politically rewarded.

Re: Anambra: Two APC Governorship Aspirants Step Down On Eve Of Primaries by AustineE1:
culturally, ndigbo abhors injustice, especially when it is born out of obvious intention to increase suffering to the masses.Igbo culture goes against injustices and over the years,Igbos have come to realise that the sole reason APC wanted power,is to continue in the institutionalized marginalisation of parts of this country and its promotion of certain religion over others.
Example is the handling of the unfortunate Edo massacre in comparison with the handling of mass murder of Christians at Bokkos in Plateau state.
consequently,it is impossible for APC to win in an election in Anambra, which is the heart of Igbo land and as mark of respect for Ojukwu,APGA will always have it's way in Anambra.
So it is a wise decision for those gubernatorial candidates to step down and save their money for other meaningful businesses.

Soludo is doing perfectly well and vote buying can never work in Anambra election because they will collect your money post it on social media still vote the party of their choice. We from central is already projecting because after Soludo second tenure it will be our turn

The truth is in Anambra politics LP and APGA are same people. Local politics APGA federal LP/OBI, due to zoning arrangements APGA will always win

Francis Nwifuru was APC member when he contested and won. Different from Okorocha and Umahi who won under another party and defected to APC.

Don't forget Ifeanyi Ubar won his senate seat with YPP and later decamp to APC. Do you think he would have won the senate if he was in APC?
