You seem to have a narrow criteria of defining polygamy.

If at the same time, a man is rotating lots of women, then he is polygamous. It doesn't matter if they do not live together, what matters is that he is ramming their honeypot.

Polygamy will always persist in wealthy or poor societies, just that in poor societies, its more pronounced.

Also the hypocrisy of polygamy in wealthy societies is that it is not legislated, but in practice, its a reality. For example, the law prevents a man from legally marrying more than one wife, but it doesn't prevents the man from sleeping with, and bearing a child with more than one woman.

Infact I believe wealthier societies are way more polygamous than poorer ones.
